#Terrible (2008-12-02) Word does not work well with Outlook. Is very cumbersome and doesn t work well with Outlook when making envelopes from my contact list. I guess I ll have to address all my christmas cards buy hand.
#Office 2007 is a productivity black hole (2008-12-02) If you have never used MS Office before then ignore this review, because you are unlikely to be bothered by the issues raised here. As an advanced Excel user for nearly twenty years, I have to say that Microsoft has rolled out the software equivalent of new Coke. Many professionals learned spreadsheets back in the 1980s when Lotus 123 enabled tremendous advances for ordinary business users. One of the great strengths of Microsoft Excel, when it became ready for Prime Time, was its ease of use for legacy 123 users. At that ti...
#This was a good deal for me (2008-12-02) Needed to upgrade from older versions of Office and this worked out just right. For the price, you can install this on 3 computers, which was just what I needed. Using 2007 is a little bit different than Office 2003 but was not hard to adjust. Also, I like being able to add the function for creating PDF files for no extra cost.
#Good (2008-12-02) Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007Product is good no fast delivery no problems
#Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 is Suuuuppperrrr!!! (2008-12-01) I bought this product to use the Exel and Word programs and it issuper.

#Not perfect but... (2008-12-02) I read reviews and checked out the mactopia site so I knew what I was getting. I was trying to decide between iWork and MS office because of the better pricing on iWork. At my office I use office 2007 on a pc and I needed to be able to continue working on Word documents at home. Office 2008 for Mac allows me to do this but because it lacks support for VBA some functions do not work on the mac product. It is a minor annoyance that I work around and the same goes for Excel. In the end it allows me to easily create study notes and write great looking ...
#Has its problems, but good overall (2008-12-01) I have mixed feelings about this version of Office. On the positive side, I feel that the graphical capabilities are outstanding. The first day I worked in Word 2008, I created a very visually satisfying piece of Smart Art for my communications class, with little to no experience doing this before. Also, from my limited usage of the feature, I think the publishing layout view is very useful. Now for the not-so-positives. . . I know not everyone is a fan of it, but I miss the ribbon interface from Office 2007 for Windows. I wish ...
#Ok Product but why bother? (2008-11-30) The single best thing about the Mac version of Office 2008 compared with the PC version of Office 2007, is that users aren t burdened by the Tool Bar Ribbon that radically changed the interface for PC users. The second best thing is that this Student version comes with 3 licenses that allow you to put it on 3 Different machines. Anyone who is familiar with Office already, will like this product, and it does make exchanging files with someone who is using Office 2007 easier, since it is compatible. That would be about the only reason I would g...
#My first Office on a mac - not bad! (2008-11-30) I just got my wife a macbook and she was upset the Microsoft Office Trial that comes with it expired, so we got this version. Being a PC and Linux Guy, I had no issues with this version of office for Mac. She was able to use powerpoint and Word just like she would on a pc. It is a tad bit different than then PC version in looks and function, but essentially the same thing. I installed the Service Pack as well, so DO NOT FORGET TO INSTALL OFFICE SP1 for Mac as soon as you install the product. Nice price, Nice product.
#Average (2008-11-27) I m not a Mac user so here s my father s comments: Pretty good product once he got it running. Not user friendly or intuitive. Seems to have some bugs that freeze it but they seem to have resolved after a few days. Too soon to tell. Has this software been fully tested before marketed?

#Different look than the PC version (2008-11-30) I had read mixed reviews about MS Office for the Mac and was reluctant to install it on my MacBook Pro. As it turns out, my fears were unfounded. It does have a different look than the Windows version and takes a little getting used to . I am pleasantly surprised with the speed of the applications as I had read that it was a bit sluggish. Not the case at all. It is very zippy and the few docs and spreadsheets that I ve experimented with have migrated back and forth between my Mac and PC with no problems, so far. I m not sur...
#Just the same as, Just a new user-interface (2008-11-28) From a user s standpoint, as I have used Microsoft Products since 1994, Microsoft Products have usability issues with office products. After I am used to using one product like Office 2004, I am hit with Office 2008. Differences between the two are as follows:1) I have to pay for the upgrade, once again, to be able to open up the new word document format that the non-technical office personnel have purchased. 2) The menu changes for each release makes communicating about how-to format different for users who has different Word ...
#Disappointing Performance and Lack of Configurability (2008-11-28) I ordered the 2008 version of Office due to its Universal support in the hopes of improved performance over the 2004 version (which relies on Rosetta for non-Intel software versions). I frequently manipulate very large spreadsheets containing a mixture of data and formulae in Excel. To get an idea of the differences in performance, I timed a couple of tasks that I routinely do on my Mac Pro (2 x 2. 8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors and 4 GB of RAM). In the first test, I timed how long it took Excel to open a 1...
#Highly Recommended! (2008-11-27) I can t believe I m going to say this, but, Microsoft Office 2008 for the mac, is a must buy if your even remotely interested in office suites. I run a few different online businesses, as well as doing some consulting, freelance work, and other such practices. Microsoft office deeply changes how I function, and operate in the world. Talk about improved efficiency. I m honestly considering no longer buying the yearly iwork suites. Some new features in MS Word:Publishing Layout View (this lets you create brochures, flyers, etc, etc) Very easy. This ...
#A batch of nits to pick along the way... (2008-11-27) As a new (actually rediscovered, having formerly used Mac systems at various times along the way, some versions of the Mac much longer than others, but enough to have previous experience) Mac user I looked forward to seeing what sort of experience Microsoft really delivers to users of that other operating system. Certainly Microsoft has seen themselves poked fun of by the Mac vs. Vista TV commercials enough that a Microsoft product manager might have to ask themselves whether or not it really makes sense to release their produ...

#finally, a speedy Norton product! (2008-11-30) I had used Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security for many years (2003, 2004, 2005, etc. ), but each new version seemed to get slower and slower. Finally I gave up and switched to ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm security suite for a couple years. ZoneAlarm gave me much better performance for a couple versions, until lately -- when it began slowing down my system, hogging resources, and prompting me for things it shouldn t have been. So halfway through my current ZoneAlarm subscription, I decided I needed to dump it and get something else....
#HUGE improvement over Norton Internet Security 2008 (2008-11-29) I wrote in my review of Norton Internet Security 2008 that I used the product - but despised it. The hit to my system s resources was just too great, and I turned much of it off as a result. The 2009 version is MUCH faster - to the point where I am leaving all options enabled. The hit to the system appears to be minimal. The user interface is simpler and less confusing also. Big improvements all around. Be aware that the engines underlying Internet Security 2009 and Norton 360 are reported to be different, with ...
#A Big improvement over previous versions. (2008-11-19) I had quit using Norton for the last few of years. I needed a new Internet Security Suite and Norton 2009 was rated at or near the top of all the ratings I checked. Norton did especially well with independent lab tests. (There are so many companies trying to look independent, so it takes some effort to find truly independent tests. )Norton found a Trojan my old Suite did Not find (Kaspersky). It also Scans much faster.
#Still tough on crime but easier on the users (2008-11-16) I do computer training and light technical work for small offices and home users. I used to recommend Norton, but in recent years it had caused so many problems, from slowing down the machine to requiring daunting re-installs, that I advised many clients to just use a free anti-virus and the built-in firewalls and hope for the best. I was encouraged to try again based on good reviews and have not been disappointed. It is fast and does its work in the background without calling attention to itself. Norton always handled ...
#Norton Internet Security 2009 (2008-11-10) I ve used the Norton utilities for many years. Previous versions always did what I wanted needed at the expense of slowed performance. Not so for the 2009 Internet Security suite. This package does everything it is supposed to do without bogging down the system -- you hardly know it s running. I am an A+ Certified computer professional and know a little about computer systems. I am glad to see Symantec finally getting their program straightened out! Speed AND effectivness! I would recommend this product to anyone.

#Finally. Symantec gets it right again. (2008-11-28) I abandoned Norton AV after several years of their bloated, slow products. I never thought I d bother to try another version of their product since I m very happy with Kaspersky (another 5 Star product IMO). But since Norton was on sale very cheap, their Fast and Light campaign had me intrigued, and independent tests gave it glowing reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I ll have to be honest. I am impressed. It was the easiest, quickest, install of an AV program I ve ever used. It s light years faster than the last couple of pr...
#Best Product At This Price (2008-11-26) After considerable research, I found this product to be the best at this price. It should not be used for Spyware but just as an anti-virus software. very effective and good product. Highly recommended.
#Bad software (2008-11-20) Norton antivirus crashed my computer and made e-mail download take too long. So if you consider Norton, I recommend avoiding them.
#Filled my needs (2008-11-18) I had trouble at first in installing this product. With help from my son who is in the computer business we were able to complete the installation. For the price, this appears to be adequate for my home computer. If there is only one user to a computer, it is fine, if not, it would be advisable to select another Norton product.
#Terrible. Conflicts with existing software (2008-11-14) Only after buying this do you find out that you can t use it with your existing firewall. You have to uninstall your firewall AND not reinstall any other firewall except Norton. A simple warning on the box saying DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU USE A FIREWALL would save people alot of people alot of hassle but I guess it would end up costing Norton alot of sales too.
