#Great but.... (2008-11-07) I got this to replace my Keurig that died. I love the coffee and the fact that they have milk cups for it. My only complaint is it needs constant clean up, especially after making a latte or some drink other than plain coffee. The Keurig rarely needed anything. And that dribble cup is not cool. The main battery/motor housing on that one fell apart shortly after the first time we replaced the battery, and we could never get the two halves back together properly. Even as I write this I m debating that star because short of SHOOTING the cork and the top of the bottle off, this is the quickest and easiest way to get the cork out of a bottle. Opening a bottle with this is far better than that, no messing around with glass shards all around, holes in the walls behind, or innocent bystanders being hit by any shrapnel.

#Stopped working (2008-11-24) This was a perfectly acceptable unit until it quit heating one morning just after the one year warranty was up. According to the service center, it would cost me more for shipping and repairs than to buy a new one. Hate to see things just go in the dump. I will replace, but not with a Chef s Choice product.

#so far so good! (2008-11-24) I ve only had my Chefs choice kettle for a few weeks, but it works great so far! I really like that the majority of the kettle is metal and not plastic. It swivels nicely, so you can aim the spout in whatever direction you want (so you re not constantly steaming the underside of cabinets etc. )

The kettle turns itself off when the water boils and since I am older I do not have to worry about leaving it on the burner, and forgetting to turn it off. I only use it for the occasional afternoon cup of coffee, but it is nice to not accidentally boil a pan dry on the cooktop as I have done many times in the past. This particular teakettle has all the convenience features you could want, holds a lot of water, click-on setting, auto-off, separate base and very fast heating.
