#1 New York Times bestselling author and renowned radio and television host Glenn Beck delivers an instant holiday classicIF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE BY REVERSING YOUR BIGGEST REGRETS, SORROWS, AND MISTAKES...WOULD YOU?When Eddie was twelve years old, all he wanted for Christmas was a bike. Although his life had gotten harder -- and money tighter -- since his father died - Eddie dreamed that somehow his mother would find a way to have his dream bike gleaming beside their modest Christmas tree that magical morning. What he got from her instead was a sweater. A stupid, handmade, ugly sweater that young Eddie left in a crumpled ball in the corner of his room.Scarred deeply by the realization that kids don t always get what they want, and too young to understand that he already owned life s most valuable treasures, that Christmas morning was the beginning of Eddie s dark and painful journey on the road to manhood. It will take wrestling with himself, his faith, and his family -- and the ...

#Excellent and inspiring (2008-11-22) I wasn t expecting a book this simple to be so profound. . . This is truly one of the best books I ve read. I was able to see pieces of myself in Eddie and his situation and it s rare that writing can capture such emotion so clearly and vividly. An excellent read.
#A Great Story (2008-11-22) This book contains a great story, one that took me back to my teenage years. Although I may not have lost a parent or anything as severe as that, I did have my ups and downs. A teenager s judgment may not be rational to an adult, but for a teen it is perfectly fine. Although a teen may know what they re doing may not be correct, they still choose to do it, and this story did a great job of explaining that. For parents this is a great story because it allows you to see just what happens inside the head of these teens. Once you start this book you won t wa...
#To all those Complaining (2008-11-22) To all these 1 star and 2 star reviews that complain about the story not being well written or complaining about the story itself you probobly dont really listen to the show that much. First off the story is based on his life so for everyone who says they diddnt like it because of the snotty teenager, I dont think Glenn can go back in time to change that. Also, Glenn himself says its no classic masterpeice and why should it be? I would much rather read something from the heart from a regular guy than read some frilly novel or classic. You have t...
#Great Story! (2008-11-22) Glenn does a great job at pulling you in to this book. This is the first book I have ever read cover to cover in 1 sitting. Buy one for yourself and a few more for gifts, you will not regret it!
#How in the world is this rated so high? (2008-11-22) I love Glenn Beck. I listen to him often. But, frankly, I found this story to just ho-hum. It s the type of story you can probably find many times if you looked. I was going to go to the film of the play, but now I ll pass.

#The Esperanto of love! (2008-11-14) If this wonderful book has taught me anything, it s that Klingon is not one of the five love languages.
#Wonderful Read (2008-11-10) I have enjoyed this book so much I have sent copies to several friends. I just love the concepts and have used them more with my children than my wife which was the reason for the purchase to start with.
#Awesome Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (2008-11-09) This book is an excellent book for people in relationships. It is an easy & good read.
#a MUST read for anyone in a relationship! (2008-10-27) it was my husband s idea to read this book together when we first started dating. boy did it make a difference! the book actually reads really fast. i would recommend taking the test first to find out your love language and your mate s, then read the respective chapters on those 2 languages first, then read the rest of the book. this should seriously be a requirement for engaged couples. without having read it, my husband and i would be miserable.
#Change your marriage, change your life (2008-10-24) This is such a simple concept and very easy to put into practice. If you have a horrible marriage or just a so-so marriage, read this book to immediately start improving your relationship with your spouse. My husband responded so quickly I was amazed. Not knowing our respective love languages previously was the whole problem for us. Now that is all in the past and we couldn t be happier. (My husband has still not read the book, so he s not sure what hit him, but he is reaping the benefits from me and returning the love to me...

It aint so much the things we dont know that get us into trouble, nineteenthcentury humorist Josh Billings remarked. Its the things we know that just aint so. In this bold and brilliantly argued book, acclaimed author and talkradio host Michael Medved zeroes in on ten of the biggest fallacies that millions of Americans believe about our countryin spite of incontrovertible facts to the contrary. In The 10 Big Lies About America, Medved pinpoints the most pernicious pieces of Americabashing disinformation that pollute current debates about the economy, race, religion in politics, the Iraq war and other contentious issues. The myths that Medved deftly debunks include Myth The United States is uniquely guilty for the crime of slavery and based its wealth on stolen African labor. Fact The colonies that became the United States accounted for, at most, 3 percent of the abominable international slave trade, the persistence of slavery in America slowed economic progress, and the U....

#You need to read this. (2008-11-22) The 10 Big Lies About America: Combating Destructive Distortions About Our Nation by Michael Medved is a timely book that will set the record straight. . . . . I hope. After years of PC and revisionist history, I m amazed that anyone writing books remembers American history as it used to exist. Medved doesn t shy away from sensitive subjects in The 10 Big Lies. Dealing with misconceptions about slavery is always a touchy issue. Medved doesn t sugar coat slavery in America, but he does put it in perspective. I m always amazed at how misinfor...
#From a waiting reader (2008-11-21) I have read the synopsis of this book and eagerly await reading the full thing. Even before reading I can tell you that I have never believed the lies which are being spouted about your wonderful country. I have made many friends during my many visits to the US and have been able to make what I consider to be an informed view. Please believe all the GOOD that your country does and ignore the vast majority of what is claimed to be the bad. Enjoy and be thankful for what you have, it is the envy of the world. Rated on the synopsis aloneAn English ...
#Michael Medved is a National Treasure (2008-11-21) Michael Medved has once again provided a valuable service to the citizenry. His newest book is sure to both entertain and educate. I received my copy earlier today and cannot put it down. At this very moment, chapter six should be of particular value. Medved takes to task the destructive notion that Government Programs Offer the Only Remedy for Economic Downturns and Poverty. Far too many Americans have been seduced by the siren call of socialist styled economics. They are sadly tempted to worsen an already bad situation. ...
#Allan Bloom Redux (2008-11-20) Since the best propaganda contains a grain of truth, when dissecting it one should always be looking for what is left out. In his discussion of slavery - which is emblematic of his overall line of reasoning - he ignores a great deal. His thesis, which is admittedly very narrow, namely slavery was bad, but not as bad as we ve been led to believe , is wrong headed from the outset. Slavery was bad - period. Does it really matter how it was implemented or practiced? Slavery is the ownership of one human being by another human being- why would any...
#Balance to What My Children Hear in School (2008-11-20) My high-schoolers history textbooks casually spout several of the lies that this book debunks in easily-understood, well-researched chapters. I was looking for something that would present the other side of what they hear, and this is authoritative and so engrossing that my son (age 16) read the entire book without stopping (even eating while he read!) as soon as we got it. I d heard Michael Medved on the radio and was always struck by his knowledge of history and ability to communicate, which this book confirms. Reading ...

Richard Dawkins, whom Discover magazine recently called Darwin s Rottweiler for his fierce and effective defense of evolution, now turns his considerable intellect on religion, denouncing its faulty logic and the suffering it causes. He eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being. He shows how religion fuels war, foments bigotry, and abuses children, buttressing his points with historical and contemporary evidence. In so doing, he makes a compelling case that belief in God is not just irrational, but potentially deadly.

#You are a sad excuse for a human being (2008-11-21) You have deluded many with your senseless hype and may have caused many to lose touch with their Creator. God DOES exist, you fool, and I will pray that you regain your sanity before it is too late!
#Yet Just Another Opinion - Nothing More (2008-11-21) What is important to remember is that this is a book of opinions. Surprisingly, mostly ranting opinions that verge on savage intolerance. The book is all about self-arrogance and grand opinion. . . not much else. Regardless of the rhetoric, if the author can explain where or how the Big Bang came about, then I may lend him an ounce of credibility. Until then - none at all. He simply does not know anything for sure.
#95 percent of humanity has the same delusion! (2008-11-20) Richard Dawkins is a modern day Ebenezer Scrooge who can t even admit that people sometimes operate from altruistic motives. Why? Because it would actually show that over 3,700 years of moral discourse (much of it, certainly not all, as a result of beliefs about God) have had some effect. Perhaps this is why even the great philosopher Emmanuel Kant was unwilling to dismiss the idea of God from the scheme of things. Maybe Dawkins should go back and read Kant and see why many educated people believe that humanity s mor...
#A Waving Banner of Human Thought (2008-11-16) Richard Dawkins carries the banner for Human Thinkingness. As the sciences and social sciences unearth more information about humans, biology, and life, Richard Dawkins uses his penetrating and creative mind to structure a series of arguments against legacy religiousness. Dawkin s arguments are persuasive, humorous, and illuminating to the human condition. Atheism has found its backbone.
#Not for a light reading (2008-11-16) After reading the first couple of chapters, I thought to myself: Wow, looks like this will be the first 5-star rating I ever give on Amazon!Incredibly funny, yet serious and compelling at the same time, organized, smart, well written, and, most of all, well reasoned. God as the ultimate stinker argument was just as brilliant as it was hilarious. But then it got progressively worse. The humor tuned down to sparse jokes and sometimes by the last third of the book disappeared completely. The arguments, at first so logical and substantiated, became l...

Successful couples know that harmony and happiness in marriage are not achieved by love alone. There is the other side of the Ephesians 5:33 equation - respect. Yes, a wife needs love. But a husband needs respect. Based on extensive biblical and scientific research, Dr. Emerson Eggerichs reveals the secret to couples meeting each other s deepest needs: Without love she reacts without respect, and without respect he reacts without love and a destructive, vicious cycle begins. Love and Respect is a groundbreaking audiobook which offers much-needed help to husbands and wives everywhere. It introduces the biblical teaching of unconditional respect, and that it is as powerful as unconditional love. Discover the secret revealed by God that cracks the communication code between male and female and reap the benefits of marriage as God intended.

#Actions speak louder than words? (2008-11-16) Love and Respect encourages both actions and words to communicate the real message between husband and wife. Excellent advice, well narrated, thought provoking. We listened to it together, discussed areas that applied to us and gained insight into the WHY we-react-as-we-do . The only comment we really have is: How were couples able to figure out all this information before counsellors?
#great book (2008-11-05) I am a senior citizen and wish that I had read this 50 years ago. It is the most easily understood explanation I have ever read about the differences in the way men and women view things. It is extremely helpful in the marriage relationship, both for a first marriage and also for blended families - and I have had both.
#Excellent Book (2008-11-03) This book is amazing! Definitely recommend reading/listening to it and incorporating it s information into one s life!!!
#This is a must read! (2008-11-03) I have bought approximately 5 copies of this book and given them away to friends. I have used it to teach small groups on the power of living relationships the way they are intended to be lived. I have also realized the power of this book in my own marriage and family life. It is great!
