A US sitcom behemoth with a global brand, Friends shot out of the gate in 1994 with snappy writing and an attractive cast. The exploits of sensitive paleontologist Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), his obsessive-compulsive sister Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Monica s roommate Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), a spoiled rich girl trying to live on her own, earthy aromatherapist/masseuse Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), and Monica s neighbours across the hall -- sarcastic Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) and his struggling actor roommate Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) became a nationwide obsession, a pop-culture icon (remember The Rachel haircut?) and a ratings hit for its entire run. The first two seasons were mostly centered on the on-off saga of Ross and Rachel, and while their relationship remained a strong presence through romantic rivals and even a baby, the other characters eventually moved from sideshow players into a shared comedic lead. But Friends was not without its heart. Most of the ...

#I just don t get it (2008-11-17) I must be missing the point with this series, really I must. I watch it,a character makes an inane comment and the audience burst into uncontrollable laughter while I sit there stoney faced. I mean, the series ran for a few years so millions must have loved it. It is so unfunny that it goes beyond my comprehension. I know everyone has different tastes but why is this so popular? From what I have seen it s a group of pretty people sitting around drinking coffee. Then one of them starts to sing an incredibly unfunny song and there it is again, complete hys...
#Brilliant (2008-10-29) I think this is a brilliant product. I have been getting Friends DVD s over the years but not in any order. This is when I sore this for £70 I had to get it. I am only 17 so it is still a lot of money ,but to have all the episodes its worth every penny . Yes some lines might be cut out but you will only notice if you no every single line, of my hart.
#Consider buying it? You really should (2008-10-01) Friends: Complete Series 1 - 10 (30 Disc Box Set) [1995]I got mine at a very brilliant £84 something (Inc P&P). And as the person below says you have got to get the timing right. At first i thought is was too good to be true but it s still sealed and evrything s in good order. I would highly recomment this to any hardcore fan! Although ashame as most people said that there s no bonus footage but that didn t put me off and i am really happy to of made my purchase! Best £85 spent in my whole life!
#for those who love friends (2008-08-15) this is a great dvd box set. for all you friends fans its a must have. and quite space saving size considering that it has all the episodes over the ten years it was on television for. also the first pilot show is on the 1 season serires disc one. Great!
#good, but not good enough (2008-01-21) well. . . i am a huge fan - obviously, because who would spend money on something that they don t really like!i expected more extra. . . at least 2 seasons show the same set of special feature - trip to london! it is all the same. . . on at least 6 disks, on both sides. . . every single cd has the opening song. . . and every side!i love the episodes and i have not really bought it for the extras, but. . . it would have been nice and i really expected something more. . . also, would not it have been nice to put a book inside, or at least a...

#Brilliant, Awesome, Super, Great, fantastic. (2008-10-25) Brilliant, Awesome, Super, Great, fantastic. What more can you say? I just watched them and forgot how good they are. You really need to get thses and watch the whole set again.
#Hit and miss but ultimately essential viewing!! (2008-10-14) Would I buy this box set on the strength of the films alone? I would say yes, but in the first two episodes George Lucas has bought everything to the screen except real characters that you want to follow. Seeing as this is a story of one, maybe two pivotal characters then that really is its undoing. The first two films are a mixed bag of spectacular effects full of cannon fodder robots, dull moments and awful voice overs. The third, is simply excellent, Revenge of the Sith recaptures the spirit of the original trilogy and...
#great films- but not as good as the originak (2008-10-14) First of all- the critics slated these films far too much- this was George Lucas s vision for the prequel- how should they know whats best? The phantom menace though was weak- looking back on it it had the film maturity for a 11 year old. Darth Maul is good in it and the mystery about Qui Gon Jinn with his mysterious death(different to other jedi s- this comes back in episode 3). Lucas could have picked a better way to portray a planet being bullied by a bigger state and needing a big alliance s help- bit like Georgia and Russ...
#Three really great films (2008-10-11) The Phantom Menace - A good film. Great action scenes. It s really good how it starts off the saga. It can be a bit boring at some points but apart from that a great film. 7/10 Attack of the Clones - Another great Star Wars film. The only thing that slows this movie down is the relationship between Anakin and Padme, but the fights are really great, like the big battle at the end. 8. 5/10 Revenge of the Sith - The best one on the DVD. Non stop action and intense lightsaber fights. Really good how it builds up to Episode IV. Hayden Christens...
#BestHow about making it one? (2008-10-08) The Phantom Menace is boring. The final sabre fight between Obi Wan, Qui Gon and a Sith lord is the only part worth watching. Attack of the Clones is a we re back in business film, which as the times go by, has come to be a fine B-class. Revenge of the Sith could ve been better. There s too much fire in the background and too many talented actors playing puppets. I think that George, opposite to what he s saying, has got something to do about it yet:)

In spite of the quality of the more recent Keira Knightley-starring big-screen interpretation, it s the mid-90s BBC mini-series of Pride and Prejudice that s still regarding by many as the definitive telling of Jane Austen s classic. Featuring, as many swooning admirers will already know, Colin Firth in a career-topping performance as Mr Darcy, Pride and Prejudice is the timeless tale of seemingly impossible romance. On one hand, there s the wealthy, single Mr Darcy, and on the other is Elizabeth, a woman Darcy believes is beneath him. Across six sumptuous hours of this classic mini-series, their story then slowly bubbles, aided by some excellent supporting performances. Nods must go to the likes of Jennifer Ehle, Susannah Harker, Anna Chancellor and Julia Sawalha, to highlight but a handful. It s not just in front of the camera where Pride and Prejudice scores, though. The production values are absolutely outstanding, with this really a watermark for BBC costume drama production...

#The more I see the movie the more I love it. (2008-11-15) It s an all time classic. I believe this is the only version of Pride and Prejudice that does the book justice. Jane Austen would be very proud. I love the strength that Lizzy shows. She always holds her own and is not afraid to speak her mind. She is highly intelligent and is a good example. Colin Firth plays his part so brilliantly. The complex relationship between these two is wonderful. The battle of wills. Then to watch it all come toghether in the end always brings a tear to my eye. I have not seen a movie yet t...
#Excellent apart from last scenes (2008-10-26) I love this series however I find it very disappointing that the last scene in almost every episode is not digitally remastered. It is rather noticeable when the picture goes grainy and no longer of the same quality as the rest of the dvd. It effects only the last scenes of most of the episodes so is not a major problem but it has reduced a star rating of five to one of four.
#Sublime (2008-10-05) This is the only version of Pride and Prejudice worth watching so far, and I can t imagine it being bettered. The casting of the actors is perfect, the writing is as true to the book as is possible and it has been immaculately researched, resulting in excellent, believable sets and locations. Don t waste your money on Hollywood productions. This is produced by Sue Birtwhistle, also responsible for Cranford. That should say it all.
#NOT the best version of P&P. (2008-06-25) After all the hype surrounding the charming Mr Firth and Miss Ehle, I looked forward to seeing this newer version of P&P, only to be sadly disappointed. In comparison to the excellent 1980 s BBC version adapted by Fay Wheldon (why oh why have they not released it on region 2?)there were many aspects of this more recent production that made me cringe. The strength of the 80 s production lies chiefly in the superb casting of ALL the characters and the fine balance found between the many connective relationships - and here lies the weakness o...
#Just marvellous! (2008-06-24) Don t even think twice about acquiring this, it is an absolute marvel of an adaptation. Jennifer Ehle s performance as Elizabeth Bennett is breathtaking, as is Colin Firth s Mr. Darcy. The role of Mr. Collins has been cast, and acted, to perfection, as has the whole Bennett family. This is a truly unforgettable production, and cannot be missing from your collection if you are an ardent Austen fan.

Disney s 1992 animated feature is a triumph of wit and skill. The high-tech artwork and graphics look great, the characters are strong, the familiar story is nicely augmented with an interesting villain (Jafar, voiced by Jonathan Freeman) and there s an incredible hook atop the whole thing: Robin Williams s frantically hilarious vocal performance as Aladdin s genie. Even if one isn t particularly moved by the love story between the title character (Scott Weinger) and his girlfriend Jasmine (Linda Larkin), you can easily get lost in Williams s improvisational energy and the equally entertaining performances of Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried (as Jafar s parrot). --Tom Keogh

#Disney at it s best! (2008-08-17) This film has to be one of if not THE best Disney film there is. The story is great, the voices perfect, the songs brilliant! My favourite song from Aladdin is probably Friend Like Me but that s because I love Genie. However, all the songs are great in this film, there s none that you roll your eyes to because Disney have that great way of including a lovely slowie into a film but still having the humour there (like with A Whole New World). Loved this film when I was little and chuffed now that my littl un loves it too. Great fun for family view...
#Disney Genius (2008-07-14) This was already a great film! Originally released in 1992, it is the portrayal of Ali Baba and Arabian Nights all rolled into one. Songs and wonderful, voice casting is perfect and Genie (voiced by Robin Williams is hillarious). This is the new edition containing bonus features and commentaries etc as standard which just make this a fabulous DVD to own.

#New Version... Sadly Not! (2008-11-14) I purchased (with some excitement) this version on DVD as it says on the cover it s a restored version and the running time was stated as 86 mins opposed to the previous DVD release of 82 mins. I was convinced that it would be a restored version with the song When Love is Gone put back in. . . But sadly, it wasn t! Alas, it was just a re-package of the previous release. I ve decided to keep it anyway and not take it back for a refund as I don t have it on DVD, but I have just bought the VHS version from Amazon so I can watch it this Christmas in ...
#The Muppet Christmas Carol (2008-11-14) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Where s Belles song? This is one of my favorite films of all time,it even gets viewings in late summer, but after all these years my VHS version has well and trully worn out, with lines and parts in Black & White I decided it was time to replace it. (Wish I d read the reviews first). The song makes the film, with the scene deleted I now have no part to make me cry and acctually have an ounce of empathy for Scrooge. This aside it is still a fantastic film, and the best version of the classic book for children I have e...
#A timeless Christmas classic for all the family. (2008-10-08) This film is an absolute joy from start to finish, and is THE perfect watch on Christmas eve with loved ones young and old. Everything about this musical version of Dickens classic tale is a complete joy. The script is fantastic (suprisingly faithful to the spirit of the novel) the songs are an absolute joy, the sets are astonishingly detailed and Michael Caine clearly relishes his role as Scrooge. But the real stars are, of course, the Muppets. Brilliantly acted, they handle the darker aspects of the story (Tiny Tim s p...
#Very, Very Good. (2008-07-06) I think that the main reason that I adore this film is because it is the first-yes, that s right, first-adaptation of A Chritsmas Carol that I ever saw. I got the video when I was probably no more than about six or seven, and LOVED it, even if the Ghost of Christmas yet to come did scare me out of my wits. Sadly, my little brother got hold of it and watched it until it was completely ruined-thankfully, not before I had got the book, as it is mentioned at the very end of the film-so, obviously I was unable to watch it. But I remembered all the songs, ...
#Best film EVER! (2008-06-19) This has been my favourite film since i was a little kid i ve watched it every xmas eve its great highly recommended for young children and older one s that used to watch the muppets x
