The lava volcano was quite impressive and does make quite a mess. Lots of newspaper/kitchen towels required. For the price a great gift for children. I would consider buying something similar in the future.

#GREAT FUN (2008-12-28) I bought this for my 10 year old daughter who is very arty and loves making things. She thought it was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed making the bath bombs. I had to supervise at the beginning but she was more than capable to measure out and make them independently. We didnt try out any other experiments so cannot comment about them. Would recommend to anyone whose child are very much into making things and a mess!! I will be purchasing another one very soon. (P. S keep an eye on your perfume ladies as it makes great smelling bath bombs!)

#Not Bad! (2008-12-26) Trying to develop your child s knowledge in science. Well, the volcano is a great way to start, but if you want something a little more messy. Then go for this, it doesn t have too many complicated tasks, but all are very adult oriented, and would need some supervision.

Hatch living creatures from the age of the dinosaurs and see how your Triops double in size each day. Triops hatch in 24 hours, can grow up to 4cm long and have an incredible life cycle. You may also hatch other creatures such as Clam Shrimp, Fairy Shrimp and Daphnia. Don t forget these Triops are guaranteed to hatch! 7 Years +

#Would have been great...If anything had hatched! (2009-06-11) Got this as everyone said how the Triops were fast to grow and can see the results quickly. Followed the instructions *exactly*, have even got a thermometer to check temperature, and a desk lamp to give it a little boost. Nothing. You are meant to see them clearly within 48hrs. It s been a week and the entire tank is empty. Will try to ask for a refund, but I m not hopeful! :(

#Triop world (2009-03-10) I purchased this product on my sons behalf as he had saved his pocket money to buy it. We bought bottled water and did everything that the instructions recommended but nothing at all grew in his tank. My son was very dissapointed and we will not bother purchasing anything like this again.

#a sad ending. . . (2008-12-07) when i bought triops, i didnt realise that they eat one another, and dont like incredible heat. i had fun with them skattering the sand ontop of the water and watching them work together to get all of the sand to the bottom, but i over worked them and i kept the lid on in direct sunlight. little did i know that they would float to the surface after two hours of intense work under the extreme heat. they were barely five weeks old!:(great fun though, and good part time pets when a long term fishie dies. :)Lol

#Short-lived but fascinating creatures (2008-10-14) This kit allows you to hatch and rear specimens of Triops longicaudatus, the longtail tadpole shrimp. #Poor Fatty (2007-08-22) Its simple really, you get a packet of eggs that look like tobaco, and you pour half of them in some natural mineral water that should be inside the inclded bowl. Wait 24 hours and half the eggs should have hatched, your told not to feed them for the next 48 hours as they will eath the eggs.
