#Forerunner 205 (2009-06-30) As only a beginner I can t stress how good this watch is. All the motivation you need when running, for instance on the way back from a run and you have clocked up 3. 5 miles it spurs you on to run 4 miles rather than finishing your run. A must for any runner no matter how poor/talented you are. The only down side I could find was that it can take a while to find a signal, sometimes 10 seconds othertimes 4 minutes
#Thr brilliant Garmin Forerunner 205 (2009-05-25) I brought the Forerunner 205 to train for my local half marathon. Downloading my training sessions, I could visually see where I slow, where I was fast and which average speed I could maintain. It allowed me to know how far if I was running on a new route and plan when to head back home. On the day of the half marathon, it stopped me setting off too fast and helped me notice when my speed was dropping off. The signal reception is superb with no loss of signal under tress and the display is clear and large enough to read when running....
#Excellent device (2009-05-25) I ve had this device for a year. I cannot fault it. Knocks the spots off the pedometers & ipod gizmos I ve used previously. I don t personally use all of the functions it offers, but have found the device to be configurable to suit personal taste. The only problem I have with device is that the USB drivers can be a bit flaky. Having said that I ve never lost data & have always been able to reinstall them. The device s output shows up nicely in Garmin training centre & there are many other applications you can use. Visual display of data in google ea...
#garmin forerunner 205 (2009-05-07) I recently purchased this item for my London Marathon and found it much more comfortable to wear than the 105 which was bulky and ugly in comparison and you also save money on batteries. It rarely loses its signal and fits like a glove.
#More effective training (2009-04-17) Great device. . . fits well, quick instructions make it so easy to use, does make you a bit obsessive about constantly looking at your pace( and often being a bit disappointed you re not as quick as you thought!) but certainly helps you formulate an improved run, i can run further because it s helped sort my pacing out. . . much improvement. i am sure all runners would benefit from it s use. Makes you a bit competitive!!

#Hit. Miss. On. Off (2009-06-18) The Edge 305 isn t great. I can t get it to download data on a Vista-running PC. The heart rate measuring feature packed up after about four training rides and the GPS signal fluctuates wildly if you re riding under trees, even tree-lined roads - which means the speedo reading will vary by 4kph in less than a second. I ve had it just under two years and the battery still takes and holds a charge and, used as a basic speedo, it s not bad, but for the price? If I could have awarded 2. 5 stars I would have.
#great but disappointing batter (2009-05-20) I ve had mine for 3 years now although I haven t used it for over a year as the battery on it is completely dead. I found it to be a great item when training for the London Triathlon - the race-against-yourself feature was a real motivation. I m not sure if the battery died due to it not being used in about 8 months but it s really disappointing that it is now useless. I d still recommend it though.
#Great, When it works. When it doesn t, Garmin couldn t care less (2009-04-28) I recieved an Edge 305 as a present from my girlfriend in March 2008, after the purchase of a couple of cadence sensors I continued my training for the Etape du tour last summer. After a couple of months, the HR started to over read hugely, reporting max HR of well over 200. For a cheap gadget this would be acceptable, for an expensive training tool it s outrageous. It then began to turn itself off, once per ride at first, then frequently. On returning the device to Garmin, I enclosed a letter stating my ...
#So far I am impressd (2009-04-23) I got my 305 a week ago. I had been using a Polar CS200 until recently, and am finding the 305 has a lot more to offer. The HR monitor seems to be more reliable, and ease of use is great - you just stick the 305 on the mount provided and once it has picked up a sattelite signal, it starts giving you a wealth of information about how fast you are travelling, what direction you are headed in and even what the time is. I have also used the device for running- and have found the automatic lap function really useful.
#Garmin Edge 305: fantastic tool when it works (2009-04-23) Love my Garmin Edge 305. Just used it to navigate me from John O Groats to Land s End. Fantastic. Also gives a tonne of great data on your performance. HOWEVER, Garmin Training Centre software has been increadibly problematic. It worked for about 2 days on my laptop and then after that refused to send course information to the unit. I installed all updates from Garmin, uninstalled and re-installed again half a dozen times and still no success. In the end I had to try a friends laptop. It took 2-3 goes of installing on t...

#Nearly five star (2009-04-27) Well, one of the pins on the strap on mine broke straight away, so it flapped about for a bit, but elastic bands came to the rescue. Otherwise, an excellent piece of kit, guess I ll just need a healthy supply of strap pins!
#Foretrex 101 (2009-03-01) These are now being issued to troops in Iraq and Afganistan, we (in Iraq) have been using them more or less constantly for months on end with little probems in pretty harsh conditions, a very popular item. I m now having to get my own for the hills!
#Superb piece of kit (2009-01-13) I ve had mine since 2003, and it has worked perfectly since it came out of the box, despite being cooked, frozen, and soaked. It has been used mainly walking and cycling. Loads of useful functions, all of which work. It locks up quickly and stays that way (except when you take it a long way between uses, then it takes a while and a bit of prompting to find itself). If the spec says it does what you need then it almost certainly does. I can thoroughly recommend this machine. My only complaint at the moment is that I m here trying to buy it a new wris...
#Brilliant kit with one flaw (2008-07-02) This bit of kit is brilliant, I need to be able to look down and get a grid for my current location instantly and this does that for me. Unfortunately I have now lost 2 units because the bloody pins that retain it to the strap are far too weak. I m buying a third but make sure you use duct tape or something!

#Nintendo Wii Component cable (2009-07-03) If you are a Nintendo Wii owner like myself then this is the product for you. You may think what change could there possibly be?, but it is quite noticable. I recommend this to any looking to perk up their Wii s visuals.
#Just buy an official cable and save money in the long run (2009-06-13) This a poor quality cable. There was constant feedback and picture was not that great either on My 40inch screen. Original version cost more but is better in every way. this cheap cable is a false economy!
#It works (2009-06-02) The lead does make a marked improvement to the quality of Wii games. They will never be true HD as the console isn t made that way. Well worth the cheap outlay.
#A big improvement (2009-04-23) First of all, this cable is NOT as pictured-but that is really not a problem for less than 4 quid. I had a venom scart lead (£8. 00)previously but was not so impressed-then i got a new tv with component input, so i thought i would splash out on this-the difference is not astounding but a definate improvement. Sharp edges with the scart cable were fuzzy & shimmered, but now on screen text is crisp & colours much more solid. The delivery of the cable took an absolute age & was about too email the supplier but eventually recieved it more than a week aft...
#Works.... (2009-04-01) We ll its a cable. . . and it works. . . aside from once or twice when i ve seen the image cut out for an instance, i m going to have to keep an eye on it for a while and if it breaks down i ll have to alter this review. . . only time will tell but so far it looks alright.
Garmin PC interface cable (RS232 serial port connector) - not applicable to Geko 101

Link to your PCFor use with the eTrex and EmapThis cable s all you need to make a powerful connection between your GPS and your PC. Create routes and waypoints on your PC and transfer them to your GPS. It also allows you to download map detail from MapSource CD-ROMs. Cable features a standard 9-pin D connector. Does not provide wiring for external power.

#Wrong Description (2009-05-28) I bought this item for a GPS72, which it does not fit. According to the product description the only Garmin GPS which it should not fit is the GEKO101. This seems to be a failure of Amazon administration. A part number would have helped. I don t use Amazon very much - this is part of the reason. The product link appeared like this:-Garmin PC interface cable (RS232 serial port connector) - not applicable to Geko 101
#It works, but .... (2009-05-02) Over £20 for a bit of wire is extortionate! Just because it has a unique connector.
#Does what it says at a cost. (2009-04-19) Does exactly what it s supposed to do and is pretty much a necessity for transfering data between GPS and computer. Given the exorbitant price though, it might at least have been designed to power the GPS unit from the serial port rather than running down the batteries. A previous review suggests buying the USB connector instead, but I bought both and found the latter conflicted (quite noisily) with my C-Media soundcard. Not bad as cables go, but way overpriced.
#Get a usb cable instead (2009-04-04) Don t buy this sort of cable unless your using an old PC with a serial port, otherwise you ll need to buy a serial to USB converter plug/cable as well which is more money and leads to miles of cables and connectors junking the place up. You can purchase a really neat cable on a popular auction site for less money which connects an Etrex directly to a USB port. Much neater.
#Problematic (2008-09-26) I had problems with my cable but in all honesty wasn t sure if it was this half (GPS TO SERIAL PORT) of the cable or the other half of the cable (USB TO SERIAL PORT) that was at fault. Downloading was hit and miss, sometimes it would work, other times it said it couldn t find the GPS. It even slipped out of its connection at the GPS end on several occasions. Wiggling the two halfs of the serial connectors together seemed to fix the problem each time the message appeared unable to find GPS , but I soon became very annoyed with this and decided to send both...
