#My four stars are for the first CD ONLY (2008-11-22) Like every other NOW CD, all the good songs are put onto the first CD and this not unlike any other. With the exceptions of coldplay, The Ting Tings etc CD 1 is mostly the reason to buy this. CD 2 has just a few good songs on it and the rest are those that didn t come anywhere close to the top ten in the charts. Worth buying for the first CD
#Does what it says on the Tin! (2008-11-20) With The Now series you know what you are going to get, a collection of great and not so great pop tunes which have graced the charts in the last 2 to 3 months. Now 71 is a collection 45 tunes which have done exactly that. Can you have a favourite yes, are you going to like everything probably not but pop fans can buy knowing that this is going to offer variety and 10 ten tunes for every occasion.
#MORE ASSORTED RUBBISH!! (2008-11-14) Why do people get conned into buying these dreadful collections?Once again (for the 71st time to be precise) we are subjected to an offering that includes 2 or 3 good songs whilst the rest are a mixture of banal tripe andone hit wonders, the likes of which will leave you wondering whatever happened to decent pop hits. If this is the best of todays music then it only goes to prove that talent is no longer a requisit.
#stop changing the track list!! (2008-11-09) When i first took a squizz at the track list it was super, had all the recent songs i adore! But everytime i see a new or different list my heart sinks!! I really want this CD but now Im just getting annoyed! probably still end up getting this CD anyway though.
#Now 71 best NOW ever (2008-11-09) According to the track list, Katy Perry has two songs on the same disk. She is very lucky! The track list includes all my favorite songs. I know what will be at the top of the next one though. . . X factor hero. Oh well I can wait. The promise and Tattoo are my favorite songs of the moment. A really nice song selection. 5 star. :)

The Snow Patrol we meet on A Hundred Million Suns is a band facing the same dilemma that Coldplay met on 2008 s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, having conquered the world with a rousing, melancholy brand of MOR indie, where now? On the surface, A Hundred Million Suns seems to suggest, nowhere especially new: producer Jacknife Lee, who first worked with the band on 2003 s Final Straw and went on to work with the likes of U2 and REM returns to the fold, and an opening brace of songs suggest that a successful formula--chiming guitars, gentle builds, and Gary Lightbody s quavering, tremulous vocal--persists. Still, Take Back The City, a windswept, electronic-tinged rocker, rather does for this band what Dakota did for Stereophonics, proving that a spot of sleek, synthetic motorik is not beyond their grasp, and there s a new, bright optimism to Lightbody s lyrics that sets the likes of The Planets Bend Between Us in light relief to some of Snow Patrol s earlier work. If you want ...

#1:55 (2008-11-19) I ve always liked Snow Patrol but something has always held me back from loving them. This is a good album - and there are some great moments if you dig deep. Engines 1:55 - sudden transformation into a beautiful melody. Does it for me driving to work in the morning. You know I love you like an ancient history brought to life - nice line. MD
#Good Stuff! (2008-11-19) Despite the pettines from other reviewers who have given this a bad review simply for being Snow Patrol, I actually think it s a good album. I think they have provided a strong assortment of songs that follows on from Eyes Open. I wouldn t say this was an outstanding album but it is worth a listen. It is an album which requires a few listens before judging it. The tracks which stand out are Take Back The City, Disaster Button and The Lighting Strike.
#A hundred million open eyes (2008-11-18) 4. 5 stars would be a more appropriate score for this album, but in good mathematical practice I have rounded up not down. If you like Snow Patrol, this is a very good album. Any of the tracks could easily have come from their last album Eyes Open, and the rockier ones could have been from Final Straw. Does it have more of an accoustic or mellow balance than Eyes Open? A track by track by analysis may lead you to that conclusion, but I am not left with that impression having it on my ipod and in the car. All of which is great, you know wh...
#Meh (2008-11-07) Eyes Open blew me away and most tracks remain in my iPod s most played list. I want to like this, but it s all a bit meh - not one track stands out, either from being bad or good. The phased piano on the last track shows a bit of a nod towards Philip Glass or Steve Reich, and then part III picks up the energy - the best part of the album for me - a long time to wait for something that makes me take notice and a right royal pain in the bum for being the last section in an 11 minute track. I m wondering where all the tunes have gone. I think there s a lot more...
#A million better songs, than this (2008-11-06) Like real Stars that burn out, or implode. i was hoping that Snow Patrol would not be one of these. Apart from a few goods songs, i never quite see the point of Snow Patrol, giving rather plain songs. This album is no expection and is imensely plain. One of the greatest sadness, is that in bedsits around the world there are people writting better songs and lyrics than these, but of course, those people are totally annonomous, and may never to be found by record companies. Track 1 & 2 are commercial and track two is good,as is track ...

Whilst easily one of the most distinctive female pop vocalists of the last ten years, with her hot-headed persona and torching rock vocals barrelling through empowered songs both infectious and tender, P!nk did step back into line somewhat for more one-size-fits-all last album I m Not Dead. Her voice aside, there was little pull her apart from her peers or to suggest she d ever again go on to release anything as definitive as her breakthrough album M!ssundaztood. But whether driven by young pretenders like Katy Perry making a grab for her crown or by that perennial emotional motivator--break-up (she was divorced between albums)--Funhouse utterly redeems P!nk. From the front cover through most tracks on the record she stokes the wild-child inside herself that made her famous in the first place, but in most examples there is also evidence of a fostering maturity, whether in the crystal beauty and depth of ballads Glitter In the Air or I Don t Believe You or the firm-handed command of mor...

#Class Act! (2008-11-16) JUST BUY IT!If you like/love Pink then this album is for you. Different to the other 4 but different is exceptional!!!
#P!NK: THE BEST SO FAR (2008-11-15) I am not going to lie. I am a massive p!nk fan. I love her. So i may be a little biased. But after a love hate relationship with the last two albums I must say this is worth your pennies. Its a beautifully crafted c. d with such ecclectic styles it fits any mood you maybe in. Theres the first single so what (which I sometimes love and sometimes hate), but the songs which are the most beautiful are the ones sprinkled through the album. Ave mary a : an amazing rock stomp. Glitter in the air : a beautiful raw song which made me cry the ...
#Who wouldn t be moved by Pink (2008-11-11) Entertainment of the highest order, loud proud and down to earth Rock and Roll, don t care what the modernist s call it. The album is not about sweet and honey relationships, but is real life like that anyway. I am going to Liverpool to see her live again, an experience nobody should miss . . . . . . . . . . And I am 61 years old . . . .
#OMG (2008-11-07) I LOVE this album. You guys n gals know P!nk is an amazing artist otherwise you wouldn t be lookin on here for her! This album has got to be my favourite one of hers! Ive had it for 5 days and havnt stopped listening to it. Its fresh and just fantastic. I say buy it, you wont regret it. P!nk rocks!
#pink shows her dark red side! (2008-11-02) well after the stunning i m not dead cd i thought it couldn t get any better!when pink came out she was compared to britney spears! however album by album she has shown she is something different. . with an unmistakeable personality. . . she doesn t suffer fools gladly!for the latest album she infuzes the break up of her marriage with her great lyrical ability!track by trackso what the lead single which stormed to the top of the charts with its opening lyric i guess i just lost my husband a great chorus pink bearing her soul 10/10sober is a gr...

The album title, Out of Control, is of course a misnomer-- if there is a more in control, empowered, dominant and disciplined pop tour-de-force out there, then Girls Aloud must still be sassier and brassier and a whole lot noisier, because we re not noticing anyone else. And this is also possibly the most restrained, or at least sleek and refined, collection of songs from the Girls yet. There are a couple of deeply pulsating off-the-peg club floor-fillers in Turn to Stone and The Loving Kind that embody an out-of-body hedonism, poised retro pastiches like the gliding and punchy The Promise and sassy rhythmic Love Is the Key, then up-tempo 80s-flavoured ballad Rolling Back the Rivers in Time, direct steamy pop of Fix Me Up and brilliantly on the button infectiousness of Miss You Bow Wow. The fluency is palpable across such a range of subtle twists and turns, their confidence such a given they don t ever need to force the point. This is album number five and although it s impossible to f...

#great album - but give it time. (2008-11-18) When I first got the album I was close to chucking it in the bin, I d have happily agreed with those reviewers who gave it one or two stars as it sounded so unlike Chemistry or Tangled Up and didn t strike me at all. A week later I found myself humming some of the tunes on there and for the past week hasn t been out of my CD player, I really like it now. But it took a week or so to grow on me. I m no professional music reviewer but I had been initially gutted by the album but I m glad that a few more listens have made me appreciate th...
#soooooooooooooooooooooooo predictable! (2008-11-15) this another album of predictable girls aloud songs. the songs are ok but dont they ever experiment?id rather spend my money on the sugababes who are always trying new things it seems if youve heard one girls aloud song youve heard them all.
#Could be better. (2008-11-14) I have this album & thought i d get a great stomper of a track like Girl Overboard or Call The Shots but I was sadly mistaken. I like only half of this album. It s a different sound for them & don t get me wrong it suits them down to the ground but nothing really screams out at me. My favourite tracks are Love Is Pain, The Promise & The Loving Kind. Also Untouchable is a definite grower & certainly doesn t feel as long as it is. Overall a so-so album from the UK s biggest girl group.
#the girls just get better and better! (2008-11-12) with every album the girl seem to get more confident. . the last album was amazing. . and so is this!track by trackthe promise gave the girls another no. 1 its a stunning pop track that gets in your head and won t get out! great vocals by sarah! all delivered over a great 60s retro beat 10/10the loving kind may be the best girls aloud song yet. . stunning dance track that must be a single! my favourite song on the album! written and produced by the pet shop boys! what more could you ask for 100/10rolling back the rivers in time opens ...
#OK but not their best (2008-11-12) I never thought they could top Tangled Up - and I was right! I like Love is the Key & Turned to Stone but there s nothing here to rival Call the Shots or Girl Overboard - let alone the pop genius of Biology & No Good Advice from previous albumsOn the positive side the lyrics make more sense than usual!!
