#My four stars are for the first CD ONLY (2008-11-22) Like every other NOW CD, all the good songs are put onto the first CD and this not unlike any other. With the exceptions of coldplay, The Ting Tings etc CD 1 is mostly the reason to buy this. CD 2 has just a few good songs on it and the rest are those that didn t come anywhere close to the top ten in the charts. Worth buying for the first CD
#Does what it says on the Tin! (2008-11-20) With The Now series you know what you are going to get, a collection of great and not so great pop tunes which have graced the charts in the last 2 to 3 months. Now 71 is a collection 45 tunes which have done exactly that. Can you have a favourite yes, are you going to like everything probably not but pop fans can buy knowing that this is going to offer variety and 10 ten tunes for every occasion.
#MORE ASSORTED RUBBISH!! (2008-11-14) Why do people get conned into buying these dreadful collections?Once again (for the 71st time to be precise) we are subjected to an offering that includes 2 or 3 good songs whilst the rest are a mixture of banal tripe andone hit wonders, the likes of which will leave you wondering whatever happened to decent pop hits. If this is the best of todays music then it only goes to prove that talent is no longer a requisit.
#stop changing the track list!! (2008-11-09) When i first took a squizz at the track list it was super, had all the recent songs i adore! But everytime i see a new or different list my heart sinks!! I really want this CD but now Im just getting annoyed! probably still end up getting this CD anyway though.
#Now 71 best NOW ever (2008-11-09) According to the track list, Katy Perry has two songs on the same disk. She is very lucky! The track list includes all my favorite songs. I know what will be at the top of the next one though. . . X factor hero. Oh well I can wait. The promise and Tattoo are my favorite songs of the moment. A really nice song selection. 5 star. :)

Already on course to be one of the year s biggest sellers, Only By the Night has sealed Kings of Leon s unlikely position as Britain s favourite American rock band. The Followill brothers (and cousin) have always been tagged as part of a southern rock tradition of family bands such as the Allmans and Lynyrd Skynyrd, a label they vehemently refuted. But the skinny lads certainly looked like a classic rock act, even as they took musical inspiration from indie contemporaries The Strokes and eighties new wave acts such as The Cure and New Order. Only By the Night is effectively a sequel to 2006 s terrific Because of the Times, their third record and the first where they nailed their own sound, a striking amalgam of bluesy vocals and post-punk primitivism. In comparison Only By the Night consolidates rather than advances their style. The appropriately incoherent Sex on Fire, already a chart topping single, is catchy but sounds lightweight next to songs like the fierce Crawl and the stadia-r...

#Not from Amazon (2008-11-22) I m only writing a review to let you know that when it says its coming from Amazon, it actually from a company in Jersy Indigostarfish. It s all in good condition, but when it says NEW, I expect it to be wrapped in plastic, so I can break the seal. This wasn t!I didn t want to leave this feedback here, but you can t rate Amazon itself. Back to the music, in short this album is awesome. When first heard I thought what a good album, but it gets better and now is a great album. ONE OF THE BEST!!!
#best of 2008 (2008-11-15) Best Album of 2008 so far. . (November!) Buy it, enjoy it love it. The only Kings of Leon track I ve really enjoyed before was Red Morning Light. This Album has changed all that and I often listen to it on the way to work. I love it. Buy Van Occupanther by Midlake at the same time for a change of pace and divine aural pleasure. Enjoy!
#Album of the Year - so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (2008-11-12) In a word - BrilliantMy personal favourites are Crawl where the kings really rock out. I want you a heart wrenching ballad perfectly delivered by Calebs haunting estranged voice. Manhattan is excellent also. Every song on the album is excellent with no fillers & no need to ever skip over a single track. Do yourself a favour - unless you have not got ears go out and buy this album. Cant wait to see them live in December
#Album of the Year (2008-11-09) This is absolutely the finest album I have purchased this year. Despite what some so called die hard fans have said, KOL have struck gold with what is almost a masterpiece. Granted there are some weak points on the album (but show me an album without any weaknesses) however these are all overshadowed by the sheer brilliance of tracks such as Use Somebody and Cold Dessert - even the more low key tracks such as Revelry are sublime. The production of this album is excellent and the musicianship far beyond the tender years of the band. Anybody b...
#the greatest so far? (2008-11-09) To compare this to any other cd this year, is very unfair on the opposition, this stands head and shoulders above anything, not sure just listen to cols desert, its a grower, but once you have heard it, you will agree, its up there with U2 s - One, Oasis- Wonderwall, Killers- Mr Brightside, i can go on but you catch my drift. i have got to say, i hated their early stuff, thought they were dreadful. But now that have taken a giant step in front of the opposition, and feel will be a top band for the next ten years, no go and beg, borrow or steal a cop...

#Glorious! (2008-11-23) Some slate The Killers for being pop and nonsensical. To me this is what makes them special . There is far too much dreary dross about and it s bands like The Killers puncturing this with their uplifting singalong anthems like Human that make me forget about the world going to Hell in a handbasket for a wee while. I mean, I dunno about the rest of you, but I thought life was meant to be enjoyable! So give me The Killers any day. You can keep the likes of Coldplay to yourselves!
#It s like a good wine, ponder that thought! (2008-11-22) What is up with all the people bashing this album? I am all good and open to hearing other people s opinions and would defo admit that people can say as they wish but some of the reasons for why this is a poor album?Let s look at the facts-1. The Killer are my fav band and so 95% of the time, I would not say anything bad about them. 2. Their concerts are some of the best, they are born performers. 3. From looking at the past, they release only the best, they music is always memorable and different. 4. Carrying on nicely from ...
#Chris De Burgh (2008-11-22) Am I missing something, or does Human sound like a Chris De Burgh B-side? Honestly, I really hope that the impending recession/depression will bring back a little bit of edge to music. We need it!
#style over substance (2008-11-21) There was something quite joyful about The Killers performance at 2005 s Glastonbury. Togged up in a white tuxedo jacket with a hint of eyeliner and poised behind his glittery keyboard like some kind of glamorous preacher Brandon Flowers cut quite a figure and stirred up the crowds with rousing renditions of hits from Hot Fuss. Sam s Town was a little more po-faced, the Springsteen sound and moustaches making him look like a slightly less glamorous preacher. So it should be good news that their new album sees a return of the synth pop. But it s a...
#Lazy Uneducated reviews (2008-11-21) The line are we human or are we dancers comes from a Hunter S. Thomson comment that America was raising a generation of dancers. Still don t understand?. . . . . . . Think about it rather than putting ill informed reviews on here.

The Snow Patrol we meet on A Hundred Million Suns is a band facing the same dilemma that Coldplay met on 2008 s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, having conquered the world with a rousing, melancholy brand of MOR indie, where now? On the surface, A Hundred Million Suns seems to suggest, nowhere especially new: producer Jacknife Lee, who first worked with the band on 2003 s Final Straw and went on to work with the likes of U2 and REM returns to the fold, and an opening brace of songs suggest that a successful formula--chiming guitars, gentle builds, and Gary Lightbody s quavering, tremulous vocal--persists. Still, Take Back The City, a windswept, electronic-tinged rocker, rather does for this band what Dakota did for Stereophonics, proving that a spot of sleek, synthetic motorik is not beyond their grasp, and there s a new, bright optimism to Lightbody s lyrics that sets the likes of The Planets Bend Between Us in light relief to some of Snow Patrol s earlier work. If you want ...

#1:55 (2008-11-19) I ve always liked Snow Patrol but something has always held me back from loving them. This is a good album - and there are some great moments if you dig deep. Engines 1:55 - sudden transformation into a beautiful melody. Does it for me driving to work in the morning. You know I love you like an ancient history brought to life - nice line. MD
#Good Stuff! (2008-11-19) Despite the pettines from other reviewers who have given this a bad review simply for being Snow Patrol, I actually think it s a good album. I think they have provided a strong assortment of songs that follows on from Eyes Open. I wouldn t say this was an outstanding album but it is worth a listen. It is an album which requires a few listens before judging it. The tracks which stand out are Take Back The City, Disaster Button and The Lighting Strike.
#A hundred million open eyes (2008-11-18) 4. 5 stars would be a more appropriate score for this album, but in good mathematical practice I have rounded up not down. If you like Snow Patrol, this is a very good album. Any of the tracks could easily have come from their last album Eyes Open, and the rockier ones could have been from Final Straw. Does it have more of an accoustic or mellow balance than Eyes Open? A track by track by analysis may lead you to that conclusion, but I am not left with that impression having it on my ipod and in the car. All of which is great, you know wh...
#Meh (2008-11-07) Eyes Open blew me away and most tracks remain in my iPod s most played list. I want to like this, but it s all a bit meh - not one track stands out, either from being bad or good. The phased piano on the last track shows a bit of a nod towards Philip Glass or Steve Reich, and then part III picks up the energy - the best part of the album for me - a long time to wait for something that makes me take notice and a right royal pain in the bum for being the last section in an 11 minute track. I m wondering where all the tunes have gone. I think there s a lot more...
#A million better songs, than this (2008-11-06) Like real Stars that burn out, or implode. i was hoping that Snow Patrol would not be one of these. Apart from a few goods songs, i never quite see the point of Snow Patrol, giving rather plain songs. This album is no expection and is imensely plain. One of the greatest sadness, is that in bedsits around the world there are people writting better songs and lyrics than these, but of course, those people are totally annonomous, and may never to be found by record companies. Track 1 & 2 are commercial and track two is good,as is track ...

Whilst easily one of the most distinctive female pop vocalists of the last ten years, with her hot-headed persona and torching rock vocals barrelling through empowered songs both infectious and tender, P!nk did step back into line somewhat for more one-size-fits-all last album I m Not Dead. Her voice aside, there was little pull her apart from her peers or to suggest she d ever again go on to release anything as definitive as her breakthrough album M!ssundaztood. But whether driven by young pretenders like Katy Perry making a grab for her crown or by that perennial emotional motivator--break-up (she was divorced between albums)--Funhouse utterly redeems P!nk. From the front cover through most tracks on the record she stokes the wild-child inside herself that made her famous in the first place, but in most examples there is also evidence of a fostering maturity, whether in the crystal beauty and depth of ballads Glitter In the Air or I Don t Believe You or the firm-handed command of mor...

#Class Act! (2008-11-16) JUST BUY IT!If you like/love Pink then this album is for you. Different to the other 4 but different is exceptional!!!
#P!NK: THE BEST SO FAR (2008-11-15) I am not going to lie. I am a massive p!nk fan. I love her. So i may be a little biased. But after a love hate relationship with the last two albums I must say this is worth your pennies. Its a beautifully crafted c. d with such ecclectic styles it fits any mood you maybe in. Theres the first single so what (which I sometimes love and sometimes hate), but the songs which are the most beautiful are the ones sprinkled through the album. Ave mary a : an amazing rock stomp. Glitter in the air : a beautiful raw song which made me cry the ...
#Who wouldn t be moved by Pink (2008-11-11) Entertainment of the highest order, loud proud and down to earth Rock and Roll, don t care what the modernist s call it. The album is not about sweet and honey relationships, but is real life like that anyway. I am going to Liverpool to see her live again, an experience nobody should miss . . . . . . . . . . And I am 61 years old . . . .
#OMG (2008-11-07) I LOVE this album. You guys n gals know P!nk is an amazing artist otherwise you wouldn t be lookin on here for her! This album has got to be my favourite one of hers! Ive had it for 5 days and havnt stopped listening to it. Its fresh and just fantastic. I say buy it, you wont regret it. P!nk rocks!
