#Is it really that long ! (2008-12-02) With The Now series you know what you are going to get, a collection of great and not so great pop tunes which have graced the charts, in this case over the last 25 years. Now 25 years is a collection 60 tunes over 3 CD s which have done exactly that. Can you have a favourite yes, are you going to like everything probably not but pop fans can buy knowing that this is going to offer variety and top ten tunes for every occasion.
#A must buy!! (2008-11-24) Wow - is it really 25 years since the first Now album came out?!This is a brilliant collection which covers the last 25 years of Now and there is sure to be something on here for every fanatic out there. A great album!
#Typical anti-dance music compilation. (2008-11-23) So in the last 25 years there have been no big selling, popular, classic dance records in the charts then? Livin Joy, n-trance, Snap!, Sash!, The Prodigy, Baby D, Eric Prydz, Underworld, 2 Unlimited, The Shamen, etc, etc, etc. . . . .
#Looking back at 25 years of pop excellence.... (2008-11-01) Here it is, the NOW series greatest hits if you may. . . I am sure it was a difficult process picking the songs for such a milestone collection. You can not please everyone and there will be dozens of songs people will feel should have been there. Perhaps a 4 or 5 CD collection would have been a better idea to cover such a long period of hits. It seems that each CD in the collection is devoted to one decade of music, which is not a bad idea. But why not have the songs in their chronological order while you re at it?To co...

#Truly brilliant selection (2008-11-17) Yes yes, Ministry of Sound put out plenty of albums, particularly classic ones, and seem to get plenty of flack in the reviews (!), but honestly this is brilliant. I was given Anthems I for Christmas last year, and that was pretty good, but this follow up is even better. Mostly because it digs out some of the brilliant but not often seen tracks like DReam, S Express, New Order, Orbital and Billie Ray Martin. Discs 2 and 3 seem to be chronological as well, but it really is big tune after big tune, great if you buy only one dance album. Faithles...

#Better than Blackout (2008-12-03) Although I now really like Womanizer, I felt that it wasn t as good as many of Britney s other first tracks off an album eg. Baby One More Time. My cd arrived today from Amazon and after listening to all the songs, I feel it is by far Britney s best album. Although a couple of the songs I feel are album tracks - Lace & Leather, MMM Papi. There are some really standout songs like Circus and Out From Under. I was also impressed that Amnesia was track number 14 because it isn t listed as being on the CD on Amazon. Overall, the album proves Britney ...
#Better but not enough, (as a person Britney s really back this time, though) (2008-12-03) If you let me give an advice, I think Amazon only should allow to type a review after the official release date of an album, etc. I tell so because of there are plenty of Circus reviews before it to be on sale. Well I begin splitting Britney Spears discography in 2 stages so far:The first one: . . . Baby one more time (1999), Oops!. . . I did it again (2000), Britney (2001) and -In the zone (2003), what was compiled in her first Greatest Hits: Greatest Hits-My Prerogative (2004)The first stag...
#Can she ever top Blackout? (2008-12-02) I ve been a fan of Britney since the beginning but was disappointed by the standard of her albums - that is, until the release of Blackout last year, which I was astounded to find was pretty much flawless. This album, however much anticipated, doesn t quite live up to the hype - but it does come close. As with Blackout, the dance numbers are stomping, with Circus and If You Seek Amy being personal favourites. However, where the album really excels is in its calmer moments, which were the only thing missing from the frenetic Blackout. Out Fro...
#She has the X factor. (2008-12-01) It s funny how so many reviewers cannot spell. I hav nt heard this album but came to this site this morning to buy it for my fifthteen year old daughter for christmas. I personally don t own any of Britneys cds but enjoy watching her videos. But after watching her on the x-factor this weekend performing womanizer I think I may have to borrow the cd. She sure can dance and what about those shorts. If the rest of the album is as good as that track then it should be good.
#Blackout-Lite. (2008-12-01) So, one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year is finally here, but how does it measure up? Womanizer is a fabulous song, perfect pop, but when I first heard it, it just didn t jump out at me like Gimme More did last year. The case with the tracks respective albums is the same. I was blown away by Blackout, it exceeded all my expectations with it s filthy, edgy, electro feel and banging beats. However, Circus is none of the above. I feel Britney and her team have taken a much safer approach to this album, whereas they threw caution to the wi...

1. Great DJ 2. That s Not My Name 3. Fruit Machine 4. Traffic Light 5. Shut Up And Let Me Go 6. Keep Your Head 7. We Walk 8. Be The One 9. Impacilla Carpisung 10. We Started Nothing

The debut album by Salford s The Ting Tings comes hot on the heels of their No.1 single That s Not My Name, a nugget of pop gold that comes on like a genetic splicing of Toni Basil s Micky and The Knack s My Sharona. The bulk of We Started Nothing follows a similar formula, navigating a path between the smart, angular indie of CSS, Bonde Do Role, et al and the pop mainstream. Here and there, they pull it off perfectly: the stutter-rap of Fruit Machine sees vocalist Katie White leading on some poor sap with sultry charisma and lip-gloss sass, while the excellent Shut Up and Let Me Go is snappy dance-punk in the spirit of Blondie s Rapture or Tom Tom Club s Genius of Love. Elsewhere, they branch out with mixed results. We Walk builds from quiet flourishes of piano into a surprisingly steely manifesto: Smash the rest up/Burn it down/Put us in the corner cause we re into ideas, sneers White. Rather less good is Traffic Light, a light, jazzy number that employs a number of somewhat forced d...

#Crap - THAT IS YOUR NAME ! (2008-11-12) THE WORST POP/PUNK/ROCK . . WHATERVER! BAND IN THE WORLD!please people grow up and listen to some AC/DC !Most of all VERY ANNOYING ! id rather listen to an entire CD of a toilet being flushed than this garbage !
#Who the hell gave these idiots a record deal? Utter rubbish! (2008-10-25) This has to be one of the worst groups I ve ever heard. The woman singer cannot even sing, the songs that I have heard are extremely poor and not even catchy. A feeble attempt at being punk and trying to sound like that one hit wonder from the 80s - Mickey. The punk world will no doubt feel insulted and embarrassed by this group and the woman who sang Mickey (Toni Basil) at least sounded like she could sing a few notes! There is nothing good to say about this group or any of their songs. I know p...
#not bad but not great either! (2008-10-24) Katie White sounds like Tony Basil on tracks like Great DJ, The Drums, Thats not my name while slowing down her act for Be the one which are good material which is not backed up even more by some of the duff tracks involved like Impacilla Carpisung and Traffic Lights which does not lend a great deal to a debut album as of course for every new band or solo act starting debut albums will have the odd one but NME s OTT reviews could come back and haunt them if the Ting Tings fail to come up with a different if winning formual for their second a...
#Every 8 year old should have it! (2008-10-20) First heard these early this year, about the same time as I saw the Kills. For me, they are a bit candy pop but it s a great compromise when arguing with my 8 year old daughter about what music is going on the CD player. It s worth it just to catch her doing air guitar and miming the words. . . . very badly! A fun Album.
#Fun (2008-10-09) I can t believe I bought this. When I first heard the Ting Ting s I thought they were dreadful. It sounded like really naff cheesy pop. And it is, but it s also very catchy and I have to admit I like it. The more I hear it the more it grows on me. It s not cool to like it, but that doesn t mean it s not okay to like it. It s just probably best not to admit it to people when you first meet them. That s Not My Name is probably the best pop tune of the year for me.
