#Great Start, but Im now experiencing a problem.. (2009-07-02) I bought this item after reading the reviews and was extremely happy with my purchase. . . until a couple of days ago !!It is easy to use and irons like a dream and I was actually starting not to mind ironing so much, but I have now encountered a problem at the expense of several items of clothing. Now this may be a problem unique to me, I really dont know . . and it is one I did not notice until it was too late. I have noticed numerous amounts of yellow spots and marks on the clothing and on further investigating I found ...
#Whoever invented refill at the rear of the iron... (2009-06-28) Reasonable price, good weight/steam/heat, but whoever invented refill on the rear of the iron. . . It might just be me, but I reckon when normal people fill the iron with water the iron is standing up on its rear and not laying flat. Not with this device, its not that simple. You need to lay it flat, open the rear of it and pour in your water. Not particularly complicated if you are getting started and the iron is not switched on or hot yet, but dont you dare run out of water in the middle of the job. What you will ...
#Tefal Aquaspeed FV5260 Steam Iron. (2009-06-28) As a retired tailor, still making some of my own garments, i can honestly say that this is, by far, the best iron i have used for many years. First of all, i appreciate the extra weight of this model, then the large capacity and very easy access to water storage,it gives the desired degree of heat and a very efficient boost of extra steam when it s needed, also, it looks as though the sole plate will not easily stain. The test though is in the results, and from the word go creases were dealt with at the first sweep, making the task of i...
#Definately worth buying! (2009-06-23) OK I HATE ironing but this is a great iron with powerful steam and truly easy glide action! It definately makes light work of my heavy ironing. Filling it up with water is a wee annoying but apart from that I have no complaints!
#Star buy (2009-06-08) Although this iron is heavier than some on sale, it doesn t feel too heavy as it glides easily over the fabric. Ironing is not a favourite task in our household, but with this iron there are definitely less complaints! I would definitely recommend this iron to others.

#Philips GC8220 Pressurised Steam System Iron 2000W (2009-06-09) Great purchase - steam is controllable, from powerful to super-powerful! The steam makes ironing much quicker. Its noisy as it steams, but for me nothing that would be annoying. If you re the type that watches TV while ironing you may find yourself turning the volume up to compensate.
#BEST STEAM GENERATOR IRON YET (2009-06-03) Having previously owned a top of the range Tefal steam generator iron,I now realise what a superior model this is.
#Good Purchase (2009-06-01) We did a fair bit of research/comparison. The Phillips GC8220 seemed to be the best in the class. So it is proving. A good purchase - best feature? It s got to be the detachable water unit.
#Well worth the money! (2009-05-21) I read the reviews on Amazon and wondered if it were really that good, but soon found that it is! I am a busy working mum who only manages to squeeze the ironing in at ridiculous times in the evening and so it always feels like such a chore. But this iron really does cut down the time spent on it as loads of items can be ironed on just one side. I used to iron jeans both sides and they still didn t look ironed but now they look pristine! Iron is nice and light, don t have to fill up the water too often and has detachable tray anyway so makes it...
#Philips GC8220 (2009-05-19) Philips GC8220 Pressurised Steam System Iron 2000W After some research into these irons this model came up as a best choice. OK its not exactly the cheapest one out there but it works really well. From the use I have had with it, it does exactly what it says in the reviews. Takes the two minutes to get up to pressure, makes the usual noise from time to time during use as it comes back on pressure, { this is not loud as others seem to be} and lasts through a fairly large ironing without needing to refill. The iron itself is lighter than our old one and ...

#Excellent Iron (2009-06-28) Excellent iron plenty quick enough when heating up, makes ironing easier, long cord is a bonus
#The worst iron I have ever owned!! (2009-06-22) Like many customers, I relied on the Which? Magazine review to choose a new iron after my trusted Philips Azur Excel Plus 535 finally expired. I therefore went to John Lewis to have a look at the Philips Azur GC4610 after reading many positive reviews about this model. The biggest reservation I had about this particular model was its weight. . . . . Unfortunately, my fears proved to be accurate (and more!) as per the following:1. this iron is extremely heavy. Long ironing sessions are most definitely out of the question (or I wou...
#Philips Steamer (2009-06-21) Easy to handle, good steam, nice touch for extra steam at tip good for corners on sheets etc. Good weight easy to glide. Does not leak during use.
#Great Iron - But guzzles water!! (2009-06-05) I read the past reviews for this iron on Amazon & also checked with Which? Magazine. This was a best buy with Which? The iron initially seems heavy, in comparison to my past irons, but you quickly get used to it. Has a powerful shot of steam setting. The steam gushes out. Only negative. . . & it is minor, it does use the water quickly. Even with its large tank, you will find you fill up quite often. Despite this, it irons very well. Both cottons & jeans are easy to iron. If clothing badly creased - takes a bit more time, but does ...
#Worth the pennies ! (2009-05-17) I m not a natural ironer - only on demand ! - but both my husband (who has to iron all his work shirts as he s very particular about them) and myself really like this iron. It s easy to use and although I would agree that it s heavy, it has a good feeling of solidness and the weight does not get in the way of the job. The sensible length of cord and velcro tidying strap are a real bonus and unusual to find these days. We are happy we followed the other reviews and recommend it !

#Beast of a machine (2009-07-04) It s a beast of a contraption, it will iron out the most creased denim. I can t fault it, it does everything you would want it to heat-wise, other than toast sarnies, and I gave that a good try. It is also beastly in size. Think about where you are going to store it when you are not generating steam in quantities large enough to drive Stephenson s Rocket.
#fast ironing (2009-06-30) this iron heats up very fast,it is not as noisey as my last one (russle hobbs)which only lasted about 18 months. Only down side, it dosn t get quite as hot, but still gets the ironing done fast.
#easy speedy + enjoyable ironing! (2009-06-20) This product arrived within the time quoted and boxed in an extremely protective way. I was a little scared when I first used it, even after reading the instruction manual at least a dozen times! But I have now fallen in love with this incredible piece of engineering! I now actually look forward to ironing + end up with countless creaseless garments, keeping the whole family happy! I highly recommend it to any housewife!
#ironing excellence (2009-05-28) Morphy Richards Jet Stream 42284 Steam Generator Ceramic Soleplate 2200W This is the best iron I have had in a a long time. I would recommend it to anyone
#changed my life (2009-04-30) awesome iron, the only down side is that I live in a hard water area so I have to replace the anti scale pack once a month. the iron also works great on damp clothes without the steam though.

#Crease Free Clothes (2009-05-30) This iron is the best I ve ever had. It is easy to use and makes the ironing seem so quick and easy. My Mum likes it too, she is the Queen of ironing so it must be good. Very smooth, glides across the clothes.
#Quality Control (2009-05-30) I ordered this item on the basis of the Which Best Buy article and the brand reputation. The first delivered item arrived with a water beaker craked so I asked for a rpelacement from Amazon - they were very good (apart form one rep who forgat the desire of a customer centric service) and sent another iron and beaker within two days - I only asked for the beaker to be replaced. Surprise, surprise - this one also arrived with a broken beaker and the crack was twice as long. Only a small issue but not what you would expect from this brand. Clearly a producti...
#Bosch Steam Iron (2009-05-09) Very pleased with the performance of this product. . . . . . it manages to whiz through the ironing and is quite light to handle. Would definitely recommend it.
#Hate ironing ! (2009-05-07) Recommended. . . . very pleased with this and reasonably priced, takes the hard work out of removing those stubborn creases from cotton sheets etc !!! Not too heavy. Lots of steam. Wish I had renewed my old one earlier. Only real draw back is that you have to keep refilling it.
#Superb (2009-05-02) This iron had excellent scores in the Which? review and we could not agree more. It is easy to use, very quick to heat up and light enough that my arthritic wife has no problems with it. An excellent product.
