Unfortunately for each of them, the whistle doesn t work and it is very easy to splash boiling water when pouring (the word Volcanic is apt). #A real lemon (2009-01-02) This is a a beautiful kettle which sadly does not work. Obviously the design was put into production without being tested. We are sending back kettle number 2. Both kettles ceased to whistle after a very short time. The ring around the top of the kettle where the lid sits allows steam through thereby scalding the hand which is holding the handle. Effectively the designers did not think about the pressure that builds up as it boils. A most disappointing product from what used to be a manufacturer of top quality goods

#Don t buy it (2008-12-15) I bought this from a local retailer based on looks and reputation, I wish I hadn t. The whistle doesn t work, and on a whistling kettle that could be considered a major shortcoming. I have nearly boiled it dry several times and will be taking it back later today. Consider it to be the Paris Hilton of the kettle world, looks nice and doesn t work.

#Don t be put off from buying! (2008-12-02) I needed a new Whistler for our new induction hob. Money being a bit tight near Christmas, I thought I would have a squiz at Amazon. This one was the cheapest listed, but as soon as I read the reviews my heart sank! - Still I needed a kettle & I thought I would risk it. I am glad I did, because it came the next day and it has been excellent. Well made, boils the water very quicklly and I am so pleased with it. - So don t be put off from buying it!

I use it for all meat cooking, reserving my frying pan for delicate fish, rissotto and stir fry (I really should get a wok!). It is also great for grilling vegetables. #Oh yes, the steaks taste gooooood when cooked on this (2008-04-14) Well I had been saving up for this bad boy. It works superbly, but there are a few tips to pass on. 1. Get it good and hot so when the steak/chicken or veg are added you get a strong sizzle. 2. Season the food well before it goes on the grill. 3. Oil the food not the grill. If you do this and let the food cook, it ill peel off no trouble, it comes clean in the dishwasher on a normal setting, so is easy to clean. #almost perfect for steak (2006-12-14) This is exactly what I had been looking for, with cooking steak in mind. It holds and distributes heat very well, leaving an even cooking surface, regardless of which size gas ring I use. Quite simply, we buy these products for the results they let us obtain - this has given excellent results 100% of the time. Any sticking can be easily solved with a little olive oil, I haven t experienced this so much though. A lovely product, from a great manufacturer.
