#Design and performance (2009-06-24) A solid inexpensive pruner with a double extending pole for easy storage. It performs well on woody subjects but as it has a bypass blade it is not really suitable or probably designed for soft green growth which readily becomes trapped behind the blade.

#Spring binds up, causing blades to stick closed (2009-05-24) After only 15 minutes of use the blades started sticking closed - the spring was catching when compressed, meaning the handles would not automatically seperate after each cut. Liberal application of WD40 temporarily fixed the problem, but it soon re-occured. It does cut well - but having to manually re-open the blades each time makes even small jobs time-consuming and annoying. Would not recommend this based on our experiences.

#Bahco Folding Saw (2009-03-26) The Bahco 396 Laplander folding saw is a great piece of kit to have with you when trekking. It is probably the best on the market and at a very good price.

#Laplander folding saw (2008-12-06) This saw is unfaultable, the folding mechanism secures the saw both when closed and open very securely. The handle is very comfortable and the leather stap ensures it does not come out of your hand to easily. The blade is very good, I have sawn through 4 inch thich logs with ease and the saw is very good at keeping its edge. A must have piece of kit. Only slight complaint is that it cannot be attached to your belt, but this is only a minor thing compared to the brilliance of the saw. So I still gave it 5 stars.

#Excellent product (2009-04-06) Can t find fault with these secateurs, except they aren t really suitable for very hard or dried thick stems, I find it best to use a lopper for that. Someone here mentioned the secateurs don t always open and close, but I ve found that is due to a build up of sticky sap on the blades which is easily removed with a wire brush. True, some parts are made of plastic, but it seems pretty tough plastic. #wilkinson sword secateurs (2009-02-01) This product seems a little cheap looking for what should be a top class product. The orange plastic locking bits don t help. In use they cut well but the spring does not always return the jaws to an open position ready for the next cut,maybe they need adjusting,but that shouldn t need to be done straight out of the box.

#Not bad but..... (2008-10-27) I ve had one of these for over a year and used it a lot. On the plus its very good for pruning the tops of small trees that are normally beyond reach. On the less positive side it will not handle thin branches so well and works best on thicker ones of one inch and above. If used on the thin stuff it just gets clogged up although its easy to clear. The battery doesn t last very long as the power consumption is very high in order to get the power in the saw. Once the power starts to fade the saw just starts to clog up and stop under pressure.
