#Does eggsactly what it says on the box! (2009-06-17) This product is brilliant! I like to think I m a good cook, but I couldn t soft boil an egg for the life of me! They were always either still too runny or were hard. After using this a couple of times and knowing where I like mine doing [to just before medium] I get the perfect result every time. It is very easy to use, just pop it in the pan with your egg/s, it works whether you do one or more than that, I wouldn t boil an egg without it now!

#Handy backup (2009-06-11) Was given this as a present and would never have thought of buying one myself. I found it easy enough to use but hard to see clearly through boiling water. It might be better if you like medium boiled eggs but only goes a little bit dark for soft. Certainly a great idea but could be improved. I like to use it as a back up for when I ve forgotten to start the timer or when I ve not noticed it boiling and it is useful for that.

#Great timer (2009-06-13) I use this timer in the gym to make sure I get the correct rest period between exercises. This is important so I need a timer that s easy to use, has a large, clear display and a sensible alarm. The Salter Electronic Timer fulfils all of these needs and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

#Nice enough item, shame it doesn t switch off (2009-05-12) This is an attractive looking item if you want the shiny modern look. Nice big display with simple controls. The Count Up feature is very useful - you don t have to set the time you require to an alarm, just press one button and keep an eye on the elapsed time. My biggest criticism is that it is always on, always displaying 00. 00 when not in use. It s a timer, not a clock! - what s the point in that? My previous Salter timer could be turned off and would auto switch off after a certain time of inactivity. Big mistak...

#Nice product (2009-04-14) A simple timer that will fulfill many needs in the kitchen. Easily set, the numerals are large and clear. The only critiscism is that the alarm could be louder and thus make it more audible in other rooms. It is for this reason that I have awarded 4 stars. Other than that the build quality is good and it should last for a long time.

#A Winner! (2009-06-21) The fact that the timer fell from a great height into a pot filled with water, ok it had to be dried out, but still works and works well. I gives this timer a thumbs up!The large display is easy to read, the alarm loud and clear. It remembers the last time used, which is more than handy.

#Review (2009-02-04) A very good time with clear display. The magnetic back means it sits conveniently above the hob on the aluminium splash cover. Only real down side is that is only alarms when the time is up and offers no warning at 5 or 10mins.

#Retro Timer (2009-04-30) I am delighted with this product, it is very simple and does what it is supposed to, just remember to turn the dial right around to the hour, then bring back again for the time you want to set, for full ring affect. I read some of the previous reviews before purchasing, yes it is lightweight and plastic, but I wasn t expecting much else for the price. The bell is loud enough if you use it properly in my opinion.

#Absolutely useless!!!!!!!!!!! (2008-12-24) I recently purchased this kitchen timer thinking that it would be very simple and effective. Having received it today I can confirm all of the other reviews that it was a complete waste of money. The bell never sounds when the time counts down and it also is very inaccurate in its timings. Please do yourself a favour and buy a digital timer instead as that is what I will be doing from now on.

#3rd Time Lucky! (2008-04-19) Unfortunately I am waiting for my 3rd replacement as the first 2 timers I received have not worked, the ring does not sound at the end. After reading the other comments I am not holding out much hope!!!

#Only really useful as an ornament (2008-01-27) A good looking little kitchen timer, which I received for Christmas 2006. However, it seems to go off about 3 mins before it actually reaches the end. The bell doesn t sound for any length of time unless you wind it all the way round and then set back to the time you actually want. Mine finally gave up the ghost last week and won t tick or ding anymore, so I bought a digital timer off Ebay for £4 instead. Not half as pretty, but a lot more reliable.
