#Excellent little lens (2009-06-22) I have had this lens for a few months now and use with a 450D. I ve been using it as a general walk about lens and got some absolutly wonderful results with it. The slight telephoto effect means you do have to move about rather a lot, however I ve found this makes me think a great deal more about the actual composition of the pictures, giving better overall results. The f 1. 8 means you can take pictures inside without a flash which gives a much more natural light and throws the rest of the image into soft focus. I ve blown many pictures up on...
#Can t compare with my kit lens (2009-06-17) I bought this lens mainly for indoor shooting with no flash on my EOS 50D. I thought the wide aperture would make this possible but I still had to up the ISO to 1000 and above to get a decently fast shutter speed even at f1/8. The lack of IS added to my dilemma. Also at this wide aperture, the focus is extremely shallow and I was not even able to focus a subject completely, only a section of it. The autofocus was about the only impressive feature as this worked well even in low light. The 50D s peripheral illumination correction syst...
#Just buy it! (2009-06-06) Had this lens for just 1 week so far. Haven t failed to be impressed with it in every way. As many have said, it s build quality isn t great, but what do you expect for the price. However the results are just fab. Buy it!
#You have Canon DSLR? Why don t you have this lens yet? (2009-05-24) Now, all of my Canon owning friends have this lens, and it is the favorite lens for almost all of them. Expect of course for those few who can afford L-series lenses, but comparing this to an L-series lens isn t fair anyway. It is very fast with f/1. 8. And for the money it is the fastest good quality lens you can get. Canon s next prime lens with faster aperture of f/1. 4 costs about four times as much. Yes it is faster and USM, but you would expect it to be with that price tag. Obviously this isn t a cover all s...
#Prime Lens, 50mm (2009-05-18) Good glass, fair price for lens. A prime lens make users think and look for using other ways to make images with a fast and fixed length lens, this improves users skill. This lens f/1. 8 av gives excelent performance and can be used in or out of doors with good results. The price for f/1. 4 and f/1. 2 primes is high, and this Canon lens will be welcomed in lens bag, both for price and performence.

Canon ET60 Lens Hood For Ef75-300mm F4.5-5.6/2 /3 Usm/2 Usm/3.

#good (2009-06-25) Good fit & easy to fit the lens, very good for blocking out un-wanted light entering the lens.
#Camera Lens hood (2009-06-13) I am very pleased with the lens hood. I have already used it to take many great photographs.
#Does exactly what it s meant to do! (2009-05-13) I bought this lens hood mainly because I was fed up with taking my camera out in slight rain or a misty day and find that the water droplets had marked the front of the lens. This is so anoying!! As I noticed the dots every time I took pictures with a sky blue background and had to spot heal them away every time in photoshop. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hood also fits my EF-S 18-55mm IS but does crop the picture below about 25mm but even still a bonus! I haven t taken many pictures into direct sunlight to notice th...
#Functions well but... (2009-05-10) Very happy with the lens hood, fits well and gives clearer image when closer to pointing near the sun. however canon ought to include these with all their lenses rather than just the L series, also £8 for an injection molded piece of plastic seems abit high, Very good piece of kit tho
#Fits 400D (2009-04-30) I bought this for my 400D and would like to confirm it fits no problem. When zooming right out for the widest view - there are black edges at the corners where the hood is visible. However, you have to zoom in only very slightly to avoid this. I removed one star for this reason. Agree it s a bit expensive for what is essentially a bit of plastic. Removed another star for this reason. It s a well made and sturdy hood - it does the job.

#Superb (2009-01-09) Used with a digital SLR there is room in this for the camera with zoom lens attached, and several spare lenses, batteries, cards, remote, plentiful pockets and it is very well made. Absolute must buy - I was lucky to nail it for £19. 99 on a special offer on Amazon, but even so, it is worth the normal going rate. It s one of those purchases that you wonder why you didn t make age ago.

Capable of macro photography, this lens has a 1:2 maximum close-up magnification at the 300 mm focal length. Its the ideal high performance lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range. We used SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass in this lens for excellent correction of chromatic aberration. This also corrects for fluctuation of aberration due to focusing. The new multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghosting, a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum colour balance. The minimum focusing distance is 1.5 m/59 inches at all zoom settings. It also has a switch for changeover to macro photography at focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm with a maximum close-up magnification from 1:2.9 to 1:2. Without changing the distance between camera and subject, you can change the shooting magnification.

#Excellent value for money (2009-06-01) This product arrived very quickly, delighted with the quality. You do need a tripod thought to eliminate camera shake. Well worth the money.
#Not bad at all (2009-05-31) Sigma have a good reputation I know but this was brought for a friends son who was looking for an all round, all in one (almost) lens for a sensible price - and he got it. This is a fine optic, not up to Nikkor but not far off given the price tag - good value.
#Mk ll ? (2009-05-24) I don t know if I struck lucky or Sigma have fixed the faults. But all I read about before buying this lens was . . . . 1/ The auto focus is crap and. . . . 2/ the macro switch sticks. Not on mine. My focus on a D40 is fast and accurate and the macro switch works like a dream. Haven t had it long I grant you, but first impressions are very good. My other two lenes are Nikon and I don t feel in any way that the Sigma is a poor relation. If, like me, all you want is a decent lens that does a good picture AND macro then this lens is for you. If I m wrong and ...
#What a great item for a Nikon D60 beginner (2009-05-24) This has certainly be one of the best buys I have made from Amazon over the last 8 years. I purchased a Nikon D60 with basic lens kit about a month ago as I was keen to take photography up as a interest. I purchasesd the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5. 6 DL-M Motorized DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens to experiment some photography at moving objects such as wildlife and boy was I impressed with the outcome. I read the other reviews about this product which all said were good but the only drawback was that the len motor was a bit noisy. The n...
#Great buy (2009-04-29) I read the reviews before buying this lens and must say I agree mostly with whats been said. Firstly the lens was delivered within 4 days from the states, amazing considering the time it takes a package to be delivered in this country. Works great with my D40. The lens itself looks the business. Its quite big but has the feel of quality. I m reasonably new to digital photography but was impressed with the images. The motor is not that loud, i can t see what all the fuss is about. it focuses so quickly its hardly noticeable. For me the lens is a great price, t...
