Refreshing a GPS Standard - The GPSMAP® 60CSx is a refreshing upgrade of the GPSMAP 60CS, one of our most popular models for outdoor and marine use. This unit features a removable microSD card for detailed mapping memory and a waterproof, rugged housing. The microSD card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment. Users can load map data and transfer routes and waypoints through the units fast USB connection. In addition, this unit features a new, highly sensitive GPS receiver that acquires satellites faster and lets users track their location in challenging conditions, such as heavy foliage or deep canyons. The GPSMAP 60CSx also incorporates a barometric altimeter for extremely accurate elevation data and an electronic compass that displays an accurate heading while standing still. Considered the mainstay among serious outdoor enthusiasts, the GPSMAP 60CSx offer a large color TFT display and turn-by-turn routing capability. Each unit comes with a blank 64 MB micro...

#Great when it worked (2009-06-27) I researched a lot of units before picking this one. It has all the functions you could want and more, it appeared to be well made, the display is very clear and you can purchase more detailed maps should you want to. It can take a while to find your way through all the menus and options, and the mapping software supplied by garmin is not all that simple to use, but it is worth the effort, even if you just use it to see your trip plotted onto google earth. The problem I had with the unit is it only worked for a couple of hours in total, then it los...
#Garmin GMAP 60 CSx handheld gps. (2009-05-11) I bought this to replace my Garmin Etrex Legend gps which I used for walking over 3 years. I also bought the UK topo map and together they make an extremely useful package. It appears to be more accurate than the Legend and holds on to satellite signals in dense woodland and very often well indoors. Although slightly more bulky than the Legend it is still compact and sits well on the waistband clip provided. Battery usage is also fairly low and better than the Legend I previously used. The mapping software makes a big difference and the ...
#Top-end unit (2009-05-01) I ve had my CSx for some years now. I originally bought the 60CS (this was before the CSx existed) and it was a great unit, although prone to drop signal under tree cover. That s not necessarily a problem for hikers but for geocaching it s a royal pain. Then the CSx appeared and I snapped one up. It s a great unit, every bit as good as the CS but with a better sensor and expandable memory. Whereas I had to keep shuffling maps around with the CS, I bought the CSx with a 1GB memory card and put the Topo maps of everything south of Hadrian s Wall in it. So n...
#After a couple of weeks use (2009-03-28) This was an upgrade from our Garmin Etrex and as we use GPS for geocaching we bought this for better reception under trees. There was a hope to be able to install maps too. This unit is indeed a great improvement and there has as yet been no loss of reception under tree cover or in built up areas. The user interface is excellent, and faster and easier to use than the Etrex. No complaints as yet. Sadly, for our purposes, there appears to be no maps available that we can use as we need to navigate public footpaths and none are that detailed. ...
#Reliable and easy to use. (2009-03-24) Bought this purely for geocaching and have been impressed by the ease of use and how good it is at keeping the signal. Even in dense woodland, under bridges and in glens. After working out very quickly how to use the areas needed for geacaching, I am constantly surprised by all the other functions it has. Every so often I do something by accident and end up playing with a new feature. I have been very impressed. It takes a fair amount of abuse and seems to keep going. It might seem expensive, and it is, but why buy one of the cheaper ones an...

#Great basic GPS (2009-03-26) As a solo walker I bought my 60 as backup for my sometime bad navigation and as someone else said it does what it says on the tin. Large clear display with the option for even bigger letters on the trip page. Battery life is good and it s not died on me yet. Ok it s big but not to fiddly when your wearing gloves. Picks up satellites pretty quick and so far has only lost them ones in a deep gorge and it got straight back on to the route when they came back. The data field options are great and you can display just about anything you want. The manual is ba...
#Garmin GPS (2009-02-21) Basic, good quality GPS unit which I bought specifically for geocaching purposes. Quick to pick up signals.
#When you just need something that works - this is it ! (2009-01-24) This is probably the best general purpose GPS unit I ve owned. It just does what it needs to do, and that it does very, very well indeed. The monochrome screen and simplicity of this unit make for a great battery life, and because it just takes 2 AAs power is never a problem. The screen is good and the green backlight is more than sufficent. Time to first fix is never more than a couple of minutes and it takes some serious tree cover for it to lose signal. Accuracy has been excellent too. The logs and waypoints are b...
#A dissapointment (2008-10-07) As an avid traveler, I feel you can t get anywere without a good GPS system. This horrific monstrosity made my life a living hell for 3 days, I ended up lost in the North of England, with only my wits on me. The GPS map itself is terribly out of date, and to be frank I would have had better luck with the 1970 s AA map.
#Disappointment (2008-09-23) I bought the GPS60 to replace an 8-year-old GPS12 that has done hundreds of walks in the Lakes and nearly 200 Munros. There is a lot to like about the GPs60 until you take it out into the field. It loses the GPS signal and produces a consequent break in the track log at the slightest excuse, when the GPS12 would not have done so. It s great to have the fancy features and flexible choice of what information is displayed, but in my experience it s a definite step backwards in comparison with the GPS12 when it comes to the rather important feature of b...

#GARMIN NUVI 350 (2009-06-29) Bought this Garmin Nuvi Feb 2008 to use on our holidays in Spain but alas didnt read the instuctions properly and didn t get the full benefit. it came into its own when we planned a touring trip to North America and Canada and were given a programme by my son in law. We got off the plane in Chicago set the sat nav and away to go. It got us all around Chicago city and down to Cincinnati through Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, then up to Niagara falls, back to Detroit and then on to Chicago airport. This was the first time I had ever driven in USA it w...
#Great little Garmin (2009-06-06) I was very impressed with the 350. I ordered European maps as I have just done a tour of France, Italy and Greece. There were no problems in France and Italy with even the most rural roads available. Greece was the only issue as only Main roads (highways) seemed to be detailed, but we were still able to make our way with the Garmin doing most of the work.
#Garmin Support are just terrible (2009-05-03) Cannot believe just how bad the support is. Just sell you more and more updates to maps. Spam you with special offers. Yes, okay login to your garmin homepage. . . wow no longer registered, not a problem use a credit card and pay again. Totally awfull, really hacked off with Garmin big time
#garmin european maps (2009-04-28) great maps with lots of extras. not had time to explore all the features yet but. so far so good
#Garmin Nuvi 350 (2009-03-16) First delivery had a faulty screen. However, this was quickly exchanged by the vendor. Bought as a present for my son as I had been delighted with the Nuvi 360 that I had purchased a couple of years ago. Very compact, easy to operate and clear precise instructions. Except in France where it makes for an extremly entertaining journey. The French pronunciation has us in stitches. The only complaint I have is no Bluetooth connection. Really expected Bluetooth connection to be included in all the middle to upper ranges now. Otherwise an extremly good b...

#A great piece of kit (2007-08-16) I got this unit a few weeks ago the day before a week s holiday in North Wales. Good to go straight out of the box. Full instructions included but not really needed too much. First of all, it found the remote Welsh cottage with no problems then found local POI s eg swimming pool, beaches, etc. Beaches were recommended to me by friends so just put in name and it directed me to them with clear voice and visual instructions. (Welsh names sound great when pronounced by a computer!) I found the street name being announced useful. It does tend to...
#Excellent but pricey (2007-06-01) I think I could have bought the next model down and saved some money - I don t want to play music through it, or use bluetooth. The navigation is excellent. It will take the full postcode (another reviewer says not, but mine does) and find the exact place, so that s better than the built-in satnav on my BMW. It can download speed camera locations, warn you with an audible tone when you are entering a speed camera area and warn you with a different tone when you exceed the speed limit. It will tell you your actual speed, which is usually lower than...
#OK until it goes wrong (2007-02-21) Bought the 360T in November, was faulty from day one, the internal mic was faulty so no one could hear you when using blue tooth. Customer support is really poor if you have a problem. Phoned four times was always told to download this or that. On line support is even worse sent four emails got two replies back in the space of a month, when they did answer, was no help and they never followed up. Managed to convince them on the phone it was faulty and sent it back (at my expence !) put in a note about the traffic update being intermittent. Ju...
#Nuvi 360T is a gem (2007-02-20) I recently bought the Nuvi 360T and I love it. It beats the TomTom 910 hands down. The 360T has full coverage of Irish towns & cities. Also the Bluetooth works perfectly with my Blackberry 8707V. The trip computer is a nice extra. Well worth the money.
#nice bit of kit..... (2006-12-29) sweet as a nut. . . . once you download the vast POI s like cameras ect your pretty much sorted. . . . . bluetooth for the phone works well. . . bit of a gimick, but fun. . . MP3 is handy. . . . picture viewer. . . another cool trick. . . wack in a sd card and off ya go. . . . so. . . basicly does what it says on the tin. . . . . . . !

The Ultimate Travel Companion - The nüvi 300 is a portable GPS navigator, traveler s reference, and digital entertainment system, all in one.

#A+ (2008-11-26) Can t fault this! Easy to use, quick to set up. First satnav I ve had so nothing to compare with but can t honestly see how it could be improved on! Even recalculates the route, without asking, when I took the wrong turning. Great. Even has the main roads, towns in Europe. . . . . . you have to buy an extra SD card if you want the street details in European countries.
#Is the Nuvi 300 Mac OSX compatible? (2008-10-27) In case it helps anyone considering purchasing a Nuvi 300 - they have a Mac specific support section, specific Mac firmware and map update routines as well as full support for a number of other web/mapping utilities - which in my experience worked first time, error free. . . . it s also a great little GPS.
#Absolutely superb (2008-08-30) This was my first sat-nav and I have absolutely no regrets about buying it. It s ridiculously easy to use, with a clear display and excellent voice instructions which are perfectly audible even in an open-topped car! It s also a convenient size for slipping into a jacket pocket when you leave the car for a even a few minutes. With regard to the problems that have been mentioned elsewhere - there have been occasions when it s taken some time to get a signal, but those occasions have been very few and far between. On the subject of routing errors, I have ...
#Fantastic (2008-08-26) I have used many different types of sat navs, but never owned one before. i brought this one in a hurry as i desparatly needed one for a weekend away. At first i was a little wary because of how cheap it was, but was pleasantly suprised with it. i loved it! very easy to use and very compact. its small enough to pop in your handbag when you finish driving. i would definetely recommend this one to anyone!
#The Garmin 300 Wonder! (2008-08-10) It is indeed usable straight from the box as it is fully charged. A few minutes for the once only connection to the satellites and it was ready to go. Nice to see a neat carry case included along with a USB lead and car lead both of which can be used to charge the unit so no need to buy any extras. The windscreen sucker works fine once you have cleaned the windscreen! Instructions are adequate but I went to the Garmin site and downloaded the manual (free) which tells you everything. I have nothing but praise for this little wonder. Having heard...
