#accurate & useful for some (2009-06-29) If you just want to monitor the standby power of your TV s etc then don t bother with this or any other monitor as the standby power used is minuscule. Saving power this way is being penny wise and pound foolish. However, if you need to measure the energy consumption of power hungry devices this will do the job accurately and tell all you need to know and more besides. Not having a battery back up is a minor problem, for plugs in hard to reach places use a suitably rated extension cable, just remember not to switch off at the plug before takin...
#More meaningful than the Brennenstuhl (2009-06-04) Having a Brennenstuhl and becoming frustrated with its readings that bear no relation to reality, I bought one of these. This is superior in all respects other than it has no battery and doesn t hold readings when its unplugged. It becomes very apparent the the Brennenstuhl doesn t measure true power but apparent power. (the VA reading on this one). You pay for true power, and the apparent power is something the power companies worry about because they have to generate it. This meter reads both and even works out the power fact...
#Has saved me money (2009-05-31) I ve only had this little gem a few days and it has already cut a third off my weekly electricity bill by convincing me to manually set my computer to sleep mode instead of leaving the computer to do so on its own. Of course people will say common sense is all one needs. . . which is why we still leave so many unnecessary things switched on, isn t it. And lets be honest, that while this gadget might indeed save the world a lot of energy output, motivation is far more to do with the size of one s bill than green politics!
#Good Product (2009-05-25) Does what it says on the tin. Would be good to have battery backup so you can see the display once unplugged.
#Power Saving Gizmo (2009-04-15) I actually bought this on a whim. I wanted to know what the power difference was between the different modes on my laptop (35 Watts on maximum performance, 12 Watts on maximum power saving), and someone on a website somewhere had said that they had used this gizmo to measure it. It s a very versatile gadget, and can give you Volts, Amps, Watts and a whole host of other measurements that, despite doing A-level Physics, I don t actually know how to use. You will no doubt be pleased to hear that the voltage in my house is sitting comfortably at 230V. I ha...

#Garmin HRM review (2009-04-17) It worked for one day and then packed up. I tried a new battery and other tips after talking direct to Garmin. They were very proactive and sent me a new one out within a few days asking for the old one back. Otherwise I would give 5 stars. I was very impressed with Garmin UK support who answered the phone directly and answered emails.
#Fiddly but good (2009-03-27) I have had a few heart rate monitors and have really liked the polar ones i have had before. The last gave out and so i was looking round with a view to getting the Suunto T4. I then saw this and having commenced a fair bit of running i went for this. I didn t like this at first. To be fair the HRM and the syncing for the GPS started really easily but i could not get it to sync with the computer ever. At that stage i also had a MAC and the product did not support MAC. I continued to use and every now and again tried to sync with my laptop - first XP ...
#heart rate monitor/foreruuner 50 (2009-03-19) this product is far better than its competitors, picks up a signal no matter how hard you work in the gym and then download the information to the garmin training centre which you can download from garmin, great product
#defect but replaced by garmin (2009-02-05) was sent promptly without any problems, did not manage to get it working, contacted garmin helpdesk and received a new one, which works perfectly.
#Not bad for the price ,-) (2009-02-02) You ve probably heard what it does and I can confirm you that it does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak. It tells you the distance, speed, calorie burnt and heart rate. With a bit patient, it can be a very effective training device. Now for the downside, it s not very user-friendly. I can imagine my mum would be twiddling with it for ages and eventually shout out my name and ask for help. Secondly, the Garmin Ant USB as previously said by other users doesn t work properly. The PCs I tried have crashed or it didn t detect my device...
