The Grundig GUD1500 is a superb value Freeview set-top box which a great way to make your old TV go digital. It features an easy to use 7-day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) that shows you what s on for the coming week, Scart connection with pass-through for DVD players/VCRs, and digital and analogue audio outputs for connection to hifi or home cinema systems.

#Grundig set-top box (2010-06-21) Seems like a good bit of kit. The box itself is very light, weighing in at a little more than the mains plug attached! Having had good experinces with Grundig in the past I purchased this and so far do not regret it. The setup is quite easy and all the controls quite straightforward. I would definitely buy another one should like this if I need any more boxes
#Works brilliantly, even with an aerial in the attic (2010-06-14) Following digital changeover in our area, I found that my trusty set-top box no longer delivered a signal. I suspected this was due to Heath Robinson arrangement of connections to aerial in the attic and prepared myself for major outlay. But before splashing out on a new TV with built-in Freeview plus the costs of upgrading the aerial system, I decided that purchasing the Grundig Freeview set was worth the gamble. Wow! All my reception problems have been resolved at a stroke for a fraction of the cost of the comple...
#Needs Improved EPG (2010-05-14) Works fine, set-up easy, but EPG shows only one channel at a time. Wish I d bought a PVR for not a lot extra
#Grundig GUD1500 Freeview Set Top Box (2010-05-04) I purchased two of these Grundig digiboxes and have been very happy with them. A good simple digibox that doesn t cost the earth and also looks smart. Recommended.
#Keeping it Simple (2010-02-17) This was an easy to install item. My demands of it have been relatively straightforward, and as such, it has not disappointed. A lightweight, and sometimes overly sensitive remote, does not impact its performance overall, and the appearance fits in with the Toshiba recorder that I operate in conjunction with it. NB: This is a back-up digital unit, as I have to detach the TV lead for the Toshiba, when a programme is recording at the same time as another we want to watch. That s cos I don t have a Digital TV, so needed another tuner. So, subject...

#Few niggles but good purchase. (2010-07-24) I read some of the others reviews, some positive and some not so and purchased not entirely sure what I would be getting. . . . . Infairness the box is not bad, the user interface is a little slow and needs some work but it is bearable. The sound level differs from non HD to HD channels which is annoying and surely an easy fix?But picture quality very good and despite the niggles I am glad I purchased it. 8/10.
#sagem 320gb freeview hd box (2010-07-18) Great digital HD box, fantastic picture, easy to set up. Easy recording and viewing. Only thing stopping the 5th star is its a bit slow when accessing the menu selections.
#Problems for now (2010-07-18) I got this through yesterday . Just thought I should let people know there are problems with this productIts rather basic box as in looks . Its rather small and the front display is just very average . Now i will let you know the problems with it . First off when you change channels I lost the sound through using the HDMI cable . I found a soulution to this . Connect for you pictute via HDMI and then connect a audio cable to you home cinema system (if you have one ) . You will need to go into the audio settings . Secondly the program guide is very s...
#Not ready for release yet... (2010-07-17) This Freeview HD box has all the feel of a product which was rushed out in time for the World Cup, ie maybe 6 months before it would have been thoroughly tested. . . So, on trying to install this box, it froze up completely about half a dozen times, so that it wouldn t respond to any button-press on the remote, or any press of any buttons on the box itself. The only solution was to pull the plug out and reboot the box. I got through the install eventually, and managed to view a few channels, including the 3 free HD ones. After flickin...
#Awful (2010-07-17) I read all the reviews on here and just like you, thought I bet these are only a few unhappy customers, Im sure it will be ok. Well I was wrong. Just like loads of other people have said, the sound kept cutting out every few minutes. It drove me mad. Also, in order to hear the HD channels, the sound had to be turned up to maximum. And the remote control was just out of this world. It was so slow I kept thinking that I d not pressed the button. Honestly, it s so bad you ll think that some engineer in France must be laughing about making the English wait so ...

Sagem Freesat HD Digital TV Recorder 250GB DTR94250S Sagem Consumer

#Met my expectations (2010-07-15) Positives:Easy of setupEase of useQuality of HDPriceNegativesBit noisey (which I dont understand completely since I thought the HDD would be solid state!!)
#HD problems (2010-07-01) Bought the sagem for it s HD capabilities. When in HD an error message comes up about every hour saying Receiver has a problem - reformat Hard disk this I have done a few times but seems to make no difference. Eventually the Sagem freezes with audio output only, Have to power off at mains to get it going again. Deferred mode doesn t work in HD. All works well in standard def. Unit seems to get very warm.
#Good product (but a bit noisy) (2010-06-03) To give you a bit of a warning - when it comes to Audio Visual gear, I m not quite as techie minded as some that leave reviews on these pages! I ve never had Sky, but I have had Freeview either in a box form or built into my TV for quite a few years now. When I ordered this Freesat box, I was hoping for:1. An end to that jarring and splicing you sometimes get2. To take advantage of the HD Ready-ness of my existing TV3. To get the Sky Plus functionality (whereby you can pause and rewind live tv)4. To get some extra new TV ChannelsIn short,...
#Splendid, if a little noisy on standby (2010-06-01) I have been a subscriber to Sky for the last twenty years and am becoming increasingly annoyed by their charge what we want, we have a monopoly attitude, especially when it comes to HD viewing, so I was really pleased to be able to test out this freesat recorder by Sagem. Set up is relatively simple - a real plug and play situation (connect the HDMI, connect the dish cable and off you go). I say relatively for the following reasons:1) If, like me you have an old Sky receiver then you will only have one cable coming from your sate...
#Who said nothing in life is free? (2010-05-27) As a replacement for an aged Sky receiver, this was an ideal (if not that cheap) way to get a lot of free entertainment through an existing satellite dish. The HD channels (here viewed at 720p) are beautiful, the sound is excellent, and set up out of the box, even for a beginner was a breeze. That being said, the initial set up only really uses half of this machines true potential, and is not much more than a viewing portal without ALL the necessary connections. Those people expecting a TiVo type setup will need to have both connections f...
