#Best Freestat box for France (2009-07-04) Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ HD PVR Digital Box - installation recommended Simply to install if you are replacing an existing unit. We are using ours in France and the picture quality is excellent on our Sony Bravia flat screen TV. Some of the remote control functions a little confusing.
#A little miracle (2009-07-02) You need to know my history. Semaphore (not quite. . . ). 405 line B&W TV. 625 line colour TV. Video recorders (V2000, Betamax, VHS). OnDigital. Sky when OnDigital went bust. Sky too expensive for loads I never watch, so ditched Sky for Freeview (use pub to watch big sports events). LG hard disk/DVD recorder (videos dumped). Poor reception, glitches etc. with Freeview so: HUMAX, local installer of a shiny new dish, and FreeSat+ here I come! What a revelation. I still have my wide, flat screen 625 line JVC cathode ray tube TV of 10 years vintage, ...
#Humax Foxsat PVR (2009-06-30) The Humax Foxsat HDR Freesat+ HD PVR is a twin tuner satellite receiver able to record two channels simultaneously or one while you watch a second live. It can also record while you watch pre-recorded material and it can pause live TV at the touch of a button. To install it you need to buy a satellite dish with two LNBs, however, if you already have a suitable Sky dish, that will do nicely. Just plug the Humax into the mains, connect the satellite leads to the Humax and connect an HDMI lead from the Humax to the TV. If your TV doesn t have HDMI, then a ...

I agree with some other reviewers regarding the poor manual and poor designed remote,BUT the unit is brilliant!! Great picture and easy to use once you send about a week playing with it.

#Ultra compact, ultra easy to use, and ultra good value (2009-06-21) So simple to set up with clear instructions, clear and simple on-screen information and all in the size of a paperback book. What s not to like? I d definitely recommend this to friends and family.
#It works, but thats about it (2009-06-18) Its slow, doesn t allow preview whilst viewing channels list and I think the picture quality is not good. If you flick through channels too often the picture quality degrades for a moment or 2. Good for a guest bedroom or some room that doesn t get used alot. Feels cheep and tacky (but who actually touches a freeview box?)
#Easy to use, affordable and reliable. (2009-06-08) This is my first purchase of a set top box and I am extremely impressed. Purchased for the children s channels initially (I had visitors!), I had this out of the packing and setup in less than 5 minutes - including having downloaded the programme guide (no exageration). It s also small - smaller than others I have seen, and consequently very discreet. I have it setup with a DVD Recorder as well and both devices work seemlessly my TV. The picture quality is outstanding. OK, from time to time, you get a digital blip - the picture st...
#Works well, easy to set up (2009-06-06) I was already familiar with this set top box as a relative already had one. It was quick and simple to set up, and works well. The only odd thing I think is that the menu system and button actions are different from the Philips digital TV I have- therefore a bit confusing. However, as it was bought as a present this isn t a problem.
#digibox - all sorted (2009-05-24) delivery very prompt. digibox neat and easy to set up. we now have 3 of this model

#More thought given to design reqd (2009-07-04) A useful addition to the range of PVR Twin Tuners, however this unit lacks the facility to archive hard disc recordings to a DVD. In addition sensitivity is poor, even when compared to other Humax units. Other comments which also apply to other Humax units are a very poorly written User`s Manual and the supply of a unsuitable Scart lead (i. e. pins not individually screened).
#DVDs are dead (2009-07-03) For years I struggled with Windows based computers and suffered all the crashes and freezes that they re prone to. I thought it was my fault until I bought a mac and found that computers don t have to be as stable as a toddler in a hurricane. Why am I telling you this in a review about a PVR? Because switching from DVD based recorders to a Humax is the same experience. If you re thinking of buying a DVD recorder or a DVD/HDD combi, ask yourself what you actually want the DVD bit for? Then buy a Humax. It s childishly simple to use, totally reliable...
#The 9200 just with added HDMI connection, you can t go wrong (2009-07-02) The 9300 is the replacement for the 9200, of which I have two already, with the main difference being a doubled hard drive size and HDMI socket and upscaling, but it is still standard definition output also via scart or composite. Other than that they are the same machine and can still be easily controlled using the same remote. With a recently upgraded 40 inch LCD screen I was not happy with the picture quality I was getting with the 9200 and decided to see if the HDMI of the 9300 improved it. I have not bee...
#Quietly Efficient (2009-07-02) After a bad experience with Thomson Pvrs - where they bring a whole new meaning to the word unreliable - it was time to switch brand when my last Thomson gave up the ghost. The Humax seems altogether more reliable, well-built and generally up to the job of recording programmes reliably and playing them back without freezing. The fan noise is certainly very quiet on this version (and much quieter than the Thomson) - so no complaints there. The handset is huge - made even bigger by a slide down cover which reveals even more controls. So, this is a bi...
#Humax PVR9300T (2009-07-02) This PVR is a great item - I love everything about it. Easy to set up and use. Good value for money

#Not that great (2009-06-26) The interface in the computer is really nice, but the connection isn t great. I live right next to BBC tower so. . . Was a bit disapointed.
#usb pc freeview tv receiver (2009-06-12) August PC/Laptop USB Freeview/HDTV Receiver - Silver - Vista Compatible. I found the installing and the signal scan via Caradon Hill (Cornwall)quite easy. The scan produced 69 programs and these were all found for BBC & ITV + the usual freeview for the area, inc radio and local networks. Getting my head around the instructions were all available via the disc that was enclosed. I found it easier to make a hard copy (paper copy) and follow the instruction. All in all, a novel little gadget. The recording was a little more complicated for me ...
#August PC/Laptop USB Freeview/HDTV Receiver - Silver - Vista Compatible (2009-06-03) good item. Got 62 Ch through this receiver. Small antena works wellProblem: Take time to scan channel and antena needs to move around in order to receive chs. .
#Digital TV in your hotel room (2009-05-30) This product was purchased primarily so I could watch digital TV on my laptop whilst in on holiday, and not miss my weekly fix of CSI. The installation from the CD was straight forward and easy. The antenna supplied did not pick up any stations - but this was to be expected as I live in a bad reception area. I used the freely supplied coax adaptor to connect the August USB to the household TV antenna and picked up over 75 stations. The supplied antenna did not work in the hotel room (not many would) so I connected the unit to the hotel TV...
#Poor performance (2009-05-20) In order to clear some space in the kids bedroom, I thought I would get rid of the old portable TV and use this item instead. All I can say is what a disappointment. After trying with the supplied aerial and two separate roof aerials, the best I could get from this device was 6 channels (BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, CBeebies and BBC Red (!?)). Needless to say, the item was returned and I bought a more expensive Pinnacle product - that, connected to the same roof aerial detected 56 channels. Take my advice - spend the extra money on a better quality produc...

#Robdoo (2009-06-22) What a brilliant little piece of equipment. Simple to read and follow quick step set up. Up and running within a couple of minutes. VERY HIGHLY recommended. Great value and means I can carry on using older TVs in spare bedrooms. Here in Isle of Man we have been one of the first areas to go digital.
#A great device (2009-06-18) The MFR-200 is a great device for those who do not want to use a Scart input for a set top box and/or need a small or portable device. Highly recommended for secondary TVs. ProsVery small (size of a cigarette packet)Simple to follow user manualEverything that is needed is supplied in the boxWorks straight out of the box. Good quality picture and sound when compared to normal analogue signal (note that for a good digital signal you need a high gain antenna)Many useful options including changing the picture ratio, timer, parental control and auto standby to n...
#TVonics MFR-200 Small but not always beautiful (2009-06-12) The MFR-200 is a neat package and easy to set up. However, the picture quality is not as good as that provided by a conventional box with a SCART connection. The major problem with it is that every few days it reports No signal and requires a reboot by turning the power supply off and back on. Very irritating.
#Works well (2009-06-12) We moved the kitchen TV and the signal deteriorated so much that our old expensive box only worked for BBC channels. I bought this without expecting too much but all channels are available with a good picture. My experience was quite the reverse of the guy whose picture got worse.
#Terrible picture ! (2009-06-09) When my £16 supermarket set top box got damaged, I decided to buy a more expensive replacement. I chose the TVonics because it looked small and simple to use, but primarily because it had received 14 5-star reviews out of 14. I am sorry to be the odd man out here but I am really disappointed with this product. The picture quality is so poor that some channels are unwatchable, the picture breaks up and freezes all the time. The picture quality using my previous box was ,without exaggeration, ten times better. I am going to bin this and buy another...
