#Good value for money (2009-06-29) Its been a month I purchased this item and its worked very well. Its excellent quality and easy to use. I would recommend this as its good value for money.
#sony dvd player. (2009-06-28) What can i say, we love this dvd player. Its neat and slim so it looks great and best of all it plays every dvd we have got. Really pleased with this item and would recomend.
#Good player, hope it lasts! (2009-06-25) This is a good player which plays most formats, unlike some other players which aer more expensive. My only problem is that some DVDs do not load first time, they take alot of time and it just seems to hang. There is apparently not anything wrong with the disc as after a couple of tries they usually work. Another review mentioned that their player only lasted five months and then stopped playing any disc. Being a Sony product I would hope the get more use of it than this - but it this happens to anyone, send the product back for replacement...
#Dreadful (2009-06-22) Lasted 5 months & stopped playing any type of disc. Although its a Sony its very cheaply made & should be avoided at all costs.
#Does the job (2009-06-13) This is excellent, it plays many types of video files avi/divs/xvid/etc as well as standard DVDs. It has a good ffwd speed if you need to skip through a film to a certain bit and it is a very small unit, much smaller than a standard DVD recorder. For £33 you can t really go wrong. The remote control works pretty well, my only problem is it doesn t have an eject button. I have only had it for about a month so can t comment on reliability but I know from previous experience that amazon have an excellent returns policy so that doesn t concern me too much....

#Decent DVD player with Div X (2009-06-26) I bought this DVD player to replace a cheaper player with Div X that broke. This player looks better and plays most DVD fine with decent picture and sound quality. The only drawbacks are that before the DVD will play it seems to take quite a while for the disc to load the film up to the player before playback begins. Also it won t play some of the formats of the films I have on Div X discs which the old player used to playback with no problems?
#Cheap DVD player (2009-06-19) This is an acceptable cheap player. I bought it as I wanted a regular player without any bells & whistles. However the construction quality is very poor, with a very flimsy plastic feel & the buttons sometimes have to be pressed twice to work. The remote control design is not good. Functionality is acceptable & the picture quality is fine.
#Exceptional player (2009-06-03) This product is very good, the usb DivX works perfectly, so does the data disks with . avi files on them. The remote is fine, in fact any Toshiba remote should with DVD functionality should work with this. It reads the usb instantly, and is very simple to use. All in all you cannot go wrong with this product especially at this price.
#Good player, works fine for me (2009-05-26) This is my fourth Divx DVD player and I d say it s probably the best one I ve had, certainly for the price. It scans USB sticks really quickly and plays everything I ve thrown at it so far, which is more than I can say for my old Philips SD-260 or the rubbish Yamada player I had since them. Looks good, works fine, cheap. You can t say fairer than that.
#Bit of a let down........ (2009-05-18) Bought this product to replace an out of date divx dvd player. Was excited to use the usb function as I also bought a new memory stick, went to play a divx file and there was clicking during playback and i know it s the dvd player because it doesn t occur on any other dvd player i have. Also there isn t a scart lead included in the box as described. other than that, not a bad player.

#Not sure (2009-06-29) I try to only buy Toshiba as i have never had problems with any of there products. . . . untill now. I got the DVD player, connected it up and it worked great for 24 hours. then it broke! now i am awating a replacement so fingers crossed
#SD590EKB (2009-06-26) Good player, appears to do what it says on the tin. Upscaling provides an impressive image via HDMI link to my Toshiba 37inch LCD TV, Regaza interface works fine. Coax audio output provides excellent quality sound via my (real) HiFi, recommended. Not all features explored but very happy with it so far.
#Exceptional! (2009-06-19) Bought this to go with my new toshiba Tv, its got excellent upscaling technology to 1080p and you can play downloaded films through the usb slot. Fantastic colours and depth. Disney s cars is almost Blue Ray standard. . . honestly. Excellent purchase for the money!

#Brilliant (2009-07-03) Got this to replace my old xbox which had become my dvd player. The leap in picture quality is massive. I was particularly suprised by the upscaling which is actually very effective. The blacks are deep with very little pixellation. The divx side of things is also very good. There is the odd time when the picture goes into slo-mo but the sound remains at normal speed, which I hear is something you tend to get with most divx players, but tbh if you simply pause/unpause, it then plays normally & doesn t spoil your viweing. Some people had complained about sou...
#Best DVD-player ever (2009-06-27) Simply wonderful - no longer need to burn home videos into DVD, can view them directly from USB flashdrive. Handles subtitled AVI movies as well, even supports multiple subtitles (for different languages). Capable to create MP3 from audio CDs as well - however I never tried that. Overall: fast, reliable - I can only recommend it.
#Pretty damn good peice of kit :o) (2009-06-22) Really good piece of kit this. It won t play everything you can find on ThePirateBay, but it does play about 70% of them. The user interface is not quite perfect (the error message when it doesn t recognise the codex is only displayed on screen for about a millisecond). The rest of the UI is good though very straight forward and user friendly though. The kit can be turned multi-region really easily too. Much better than the ones I DVD players I tried from Maplin, both of which were faulty.
#Superb - is there another player that does the same for this price? (2009-06-09) I researched long and hard for a DVD player that could play WMV files. They were far and few between. The majority were way out of my price range. This seems to play everything I chuck at it, especially BBC iPlayer WMV files and MPGs from my PC s digital tuner. It also plays DVD+R DL discs, which means I can take a backup of my purchased DVDs, use the copy and keep the master in a safe place. Very useful when you have little kids around. Of course the biggest plus for this device is the ability to t...
#fantastic dvd player (2009-05-08) bought this a few days ago and couldn t be more pleased. does everything it says on box. mine came straight from philips in holland with uk plug.

#Horrible disappointment (2009-05-30) The problem with the Sumvision Phoenix Premium is that it does everything it says on the box except actually play your DVDs. If you re buying one of these you had better hope every last one of your DVDs are in as new condition because even the slightest problem with the disk surface which proves to be no issue on other players completely freezes this thing up. On top of this, one of it s functions is to remember where your DVD was when you last ejected it or turned the player off, so it will just freeze up again with no menu access or anything...
#Simple little DVD player and value for money (2009-05-22) I found this little DVD player really easy to set up. I didn t need to use the instuction manual. I just simply got it out the box, connected it up and tried a Region1 DVD. I didn t think it would work before I put the disc into the player, but i became really happy and chuffed with the fact that it worked and i had no problems getting used to it. What really suprised me, was the size. It s not reallt big like most DVD players and thats a bonus considering the little space i have to put. I ll rate this player a 10/10 and it s...
#Spiffy little machine - let down by tacky remote (2009-01-07) Only just got this machine but early impressions are very favourable indeed. It s half the width of a normal DVD machine and in black with amber lit display it looks very smart indeed. It has played everything I ve chucked at it so far. Doesn t have the irritating automatic power shut-off during a long pause that my last machine was cursed with - meaning I can pick up on a movie the following day if I like without having to find my place again. The great price includes a new Scart lead too - often extra on a budget ...
#sumvision (2008-08-18) well i purchased one of these as i liked the idea of savig discs and just using my flash card and connecting it to the dvd player and have been very happy i have found very few things that i cant watch using the player and overall im extremely happy. only problem i can t seem to find my remote now which means i can watch normal dvd s but the memory card socket is out of action, and i am having alot of trouble trying o get a replacement, if anyone knows where i minght be able to get a replacement all help welcome. but back to the review i would deffinatly recomen...
#Great machine but personally let down :( (2008-07-04) I already had a DVD machine which plays DivX n Xvid files, but was getttin fed up of always burning a dvd so i could watch it on there. and now n then id find that the film would skip, just like a scratched cd or dvd would. So the sole purpose of buying this machine was to hook up my external hard drive directly without using anymore DVDs, only to find that the machine isnt compatible with my hard drive, although my Memory stick worked. Otherwise im very happy with this DVD player, so buy it if ur not expecting to plug in ur ex...
