#Psion 5mx-The best PDA/Organiser in the world (2007-07-17) After craving a Psion organiser for many years, I took the plunge some time back while on e-bay (Amazon is even better!). I found the Psion far out weighed any wild hopes I had of it, and while it may be blak & white touch screened only, it s crystal clear and sharp to read. Diary (years of, reoccuring dates & anniversaries), contacts (100 s of Filofaxed addresses and contacts), all my phone details (1 yr old phone infrared beamed to a 7 year old Psion), pages of notes, jottings, reminders, and sketches etc etc all sitting on a...
#Psion 5MX (2006-06-04) I bought a 5mx in 1999 and used it everyday without fail for almost 6 years. It s now finally given up the ghost and I feel like I ve lost a trusty friend. Researching the market for a replacement revealed there are plenty of handhelds out there, but absolutely nothing with a keyboard that matches the 5MX for size, build quality and design. Although, admittedly there s a few options that look like they were designed to be been given away with packets of breakfast cereal. If your priority is a decent built in qwerty keyboard and an instant on system, then you ...
#Still an excellent mini laptop.. (2005-02-25) I am yet another returner to the excellent Psion series 5mx. Why now when there are so many other sophisticated PDA s around? Its extremely stable, and has over the years only crashed twice. It is instant to use, just open and hey presto you can start immediately with no boot up. I prefer the organiser/ contacts/ agenda to that on my pc. You can really touch type at great speed on the keyboard which I think is still the best of all PDS s. You could use it to write a book or couple with ease. Also the touch screen is still fantastic a...
#Psion 5MX Still the best PDA (2004-02-09) In fact the psion 5mx is more pocket laptop than PDA - great keyboard, easy to use, instant on/off (handy for when the seatbelt sign comes on during a flight). I ve had a 5mx for about two and a half years now - compact flash storage makes it easy to transfer files to and from my mac through a card reader, and great range of software. You can get a serial-USB adapter for use with iMacs, but I ve found the card reader just as simple. Yes it has a useful calendar/alarm function, but it is in taking notes that the machine really shines. The c...
#Well tried and tested (2003-07-08) I have been using this for 2-3 years. I feel lost when I don t have it. It is superb - the only thing that lets it down is that sometimes it doesn t remind me about a meeting - only to discover that I d forgotten to enter the appointment - that is how reliable it is. This is far easier to use than my laptop as it take a fraction of the time to before using it. When I used a laptop, there were embarrassed silences while I waited for the system to boot-up and then to inform my colleagues that I could or couldn t make a meeting - now it is instantane...

#The Psion 3a - Useful, cheap and accessible (2004-11-15) I bought the psion from an electronics shop around a year ago and it is on of the best machines for the money you can buy. Its best features that rank it over the more expensive but unuseable PDA s are:- It includes multi-tasking which allows you to go on more than one program at once. - An internal memory of 256Kb. More than enough for my personal use or for a small businessman. - QWERTY keyboard for ease of use. - Load up your spreadsheet or word documents and add to them whilst on the move- Create your own word and spre...

#Psion Series 7 Mains Adaptor and how it changed my life (2001-07-24) I bought my Psion Series 7 from a local computer shop, but the man behind the counter couldn t find the adaptor or the com link cable that it should have come with. He couldn t even turn the unit on for me, and therefore was unable to show me its wonders. After much negotiation I agreed to take a chance (and a nice reduction in the purchase price)and left with the series 7 under my arm. And to the net, to buy the charger. Amazon delivered with great aplomb the charger that I now see before me. I don t know what ...

The Psion Revo is a remarkably powerful, feature-rich and lightweight PDA. An interesting alternative to Palm or Pocket PC organisers, the Psion is stylish and slim and has a high-speed processor and built-in long-life batteries. The Revo is relatively simple to set up. Connect the AC adapter to the serial cable (the power cord does not plug into the docking station), hook up the serial cable to your PC, open the Revo s case and slide the Revo into the docking station. (The Revo cannot fit into the docking station unless the case is open.) A green LED confirms that the Revo is properly docked and a red LED indicates that the battery is fast charging. The battery charges to 85 per cent capacity in just 1.5 hours and fully charges in four hours. The charged battery lasts about 12 hours. The Revo is based along the same lines as earlier Psion models, but with considerable cosmetic and technical improvements. You operate this organiser with the 14 touch-sensitive buttons that border its scre...

#Psion revo (2004-05-17) This psion is a great buy and i recoomend anybody who is on a budget and wants a cheap but good organiser and word proccesor. The agenda and contacts are good but the wap browser is complicated and hard to setup. The keyboard is not quite big enough to be able to touch type, but if you would like one for touchtyping maybe the series 5mx is better. Also it would be better with a backlight but on the whole for a cheap price it is brilliant. This is the ideal solution for a note taking person, and doesn t want a laptop. It is brilliant to sychronise with your ...
#Fantastic (2003-02-20) I ve now owned two Revos, first a Revo Plus and when that one got stolen I got a regular Revo which has served me for months now and within my field (medicine) there is a lot of useful software from a very dedicated user community. It synchronises perfectly with Windows applications like Outlook and synchronisers for other programs can be purchased (such as for Eudora). The programs included already provide for most of the requirements but a graphics pad (Sketch) can be downloaded free of charge, as can a myriad of converters, databases, music programs, programmi...
#Best PDA I have had! (2002-09-28) I have tried a number of PDAs over the years - HP OmniGo, Windows CE, Olivetti, and Palm. Revo is the best I have tried (OmniGo is 2nd!). It is a superb package of all the bits of Palm/Olivetti for contacts, to-do, calendar and the other bits from OmniGo and CE - word processing, database and more! I have been very impressed with the ease of use and speed of the programs. It links by iR to Mobile phones for web and e-mail access and has a superb range of freeware available via the web. The screen is not backlit but is extremely clear. Revo is still...
#Compact, functional, cheap. (2002-08-26) I ve had the Psion Revo for over 6 months now and I still use it every day. I don t understand why some people seem to be having problems synchronizing, I ve used it on many different PC s and it always works without a hitch. I mostly use it to read and send email while on the train via my IR capable mobile phone, the keyboard is excellent considering the size, the screen is very clear(except when it s dark, no backlight. . . )Although it s now no longer being sold, there is a huge catalogue of software available, both free and commercial. ...
#Doesn t Anything Work!!! (2002-06-06) Being a previous Psion 3c owner, I decided to go for the Psion Revo as an obvious uupdate but found that it was far from it. Apart from a number of functions that are not present on the Revo it is quite obvious that the 3c is a superior model - and after paying the price I only wish this had been made clear. Not only is the functionality inferior to the 3c but can anyone get the PC connection to work? I have two work colleagues, all of us IT systems analysts, who have never been able to connect to a PC or access e-mail. I have had my Revo ...
