#a point and shoot that will give an SLR a run for its money (2009-07-01) i have owned digital cameras for some years now, my other Panasonic models are the LX2 and the TZ3. I also own traditional film SLR but have not been swayed towards digital SLR yet, and this is a camera that is not going to change that decision!i have only 2 major criticisms of this camera. firstly there is no manual mode, for focus or aperture/shutter settings (but my lx2 gives me that) and secondly it has a dedicated (not AA/AAA etc. ) battery. That means you have to buy a couple of spares because if you are ... #Super little compact (2009-06-30) My partner owns the TZ5, which is a great little camera and I would have purchased one for myself, except Panasonic decided to superseded it with the TZ6, which for some extraordinary reason, Panasonic saw fit to reduce the size of the LCD display. . . why! I would have bought the TZ6. It makes no sense, the cameras bodies are identical. I can t help thinking this oversight was cunning ploy to get us to fork out the extra dosh for the TZ7, if so, it worked on me, because I bought one and have not looked back. Slightly disappointing battery life as many reviews gave this excellent lifetime but you will typically need to charge the battery after a day of use (50-100 pictures). The other recommendation is not to use the Intelligent Auto for indoor shots - switch to manual and set white balance. But other than that the camera has produced some excellent photos. #Lumix TZ6 (2009-06-29) This classy,light camera was recommended by a friend to replace my ageing Nikon Coolpix which was slow to reload and difficult to focus. The Lumix is excellent - quick to reload,easy to use and ,with a 2GB SD card, has loads of memory for both stills and videos. The zoom/wide-angle lens gives plenty of scope to compose shots. As with most compact digital cameras, there s no viewfinder but, away from direct sun, the LCD monitor screen is perfectly clear. The pictures are amazingly shake-free , even in poor light, but a tweaking on Picasa 3 remedies any under-... #Great little camera (2009-06-26) This camera is the bees knees. For a pocket size camera it does everything I wanted it to do plus more. I ve only had it a month, so haven t explored all the settings yet, but the results so far are great. The optical 12xzoom is brilliant, as good as a larger, more expensive camera. The trimming facility works really well, though the pictures can become a bit grainy if they are enlarged too much. My particular interest is wildlife photography(amateur) and to be able to carry the camera in my pocket means it is readily available for unexpected shots. I previously owned a Olympus 5 mpx camera which took a long time to start up, was bulky to carry around and had a low battery life. At the time it had the longest fixed lens zoom available at 10x optical, and had a well built,traditional camera shape. When I first received the Lumix I couldn t beleive how small and light it was in comparison, and with a 12x optical zoom too. I ve been using it as a general walk about lens and got some absolutly wonderful results with it. The slight telephoto effect means you do have to move about rather a lot, however I ve found this makes me think a great deal more about the actual composition of the pictures, giving better overall results. The f 1. 8 means you can take pictures inside without a flash which gives a much more natural light and throws the rest of the image into soft focus. I ve blown many pictures up on... #Can t compare with my kit lens (2009-06-17) I bought this lens mainly for indoor shooting with no flash on my EOS 50D. I thought the wide aperture would make this possible but I still had to up the ISO to 1000 and above to get a decently fast shutter speed even at f1/8. The lack of IS added to my dilemma. Also at this wide aperture, the focus is extremely shallow and I was not even able to focus a subject completely, only a section of it. A prime lens make users think and look for using other ways to make images with a fast and fixed length lens, this improves users skill. This lens f/1. 8 av gives excelent performance and can be used in or out of doors with good results. The price for f/1. 4 and f/1. 2 primes is high, and this Canon lens will be welcomed in lens bag, both for price and performence.

#rocket air blower (2009-06-30) great for shifting awkward bits of fluff from all sorts of things , ample power to shift most things , great bit of kit. #Giottos Rocket Air Blower (2009-06-12) Seems expensive for a rubber blower, but it worked first time, removing a massive bit of muck which was on the sensor when the camera was delivered brand new. This is the least-invasive cleaning method, which is why I wanted to try it before resorting to sensor swabs, which in my opinion have the potential to damage the sensor. I now use it to clean the back of lenses before putting them on the camera, as well as rear lens caps. A worthwhile purchase. #Excellent (2009-06-03) Great piece of equipment for photographers. I had a piece of dust in the upper corner of all photos I was taking with my D-SLR. This managed to dislodge it and now I m getting great photos. Apparently it is better than cans of air as it is not compressed therefore doesn t leave streaks on the lens. Would highly recommend this! #pocket rocket (2009-04-20) gives a good long blow to clear away the dust,grit or anything thats on the lens or sensor #Nice tool (2009-04-17) It s a nice tool for removing the easy dust from the sensor. Not suitable for removing stubborn dust, but it s sensor-safe.
