#Unsafe Product (2009-05-10) This product is danergously unfit for purpose. The mounting bracket does not adhere properly even to a clean windscreen resulting in the unit falling off on frequent occasion. This is not only very distracting for the driver but there is a risk of the unit become lodged in the driving controls. Both of these factors are likely to cause an accident. Think carefully before you but this product. #Good satnav but with 3 unacceptable flaws (2009-05-09) I bought one of these for the advanced features of live update and because it was listed as compatible with my iPhone 3G. It works most of the time as a satnav (though has a tendency to crash and reboot at in-opportune times) but it won t work reliably as a hands free for the iPhone 3G. It works sporadically but often refuses to pair (the iPhone see s it fine but it doesn t see the phone). I ve had a problem out with Tomtom for 3 months about this and they ve had me try every thing from resets, wiping and rebuilding the device ... #TomTom (2009-05-01) A good product, reliable and easy to use, with touch screen and voice instruction functions. Instant live traffic report gave an estimated time of traffic delay on your route and suggested an alternative quicker route if there was one available. However, even fully charged, the built-in battery operation time was around two hours if without in-car power supply. #TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver (2009-06-19) When I first tried out the TomTom RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver, it appeared to fail to pick up any TMC signal. I expected an almost immediate response from the unit and thought it was faulty when it didn t. I found out it worked on a signal from Classic FM so I expected that if I had a strong FM signal from the transmitter to my car radio, then the TMC signal should also be available. Prices had come down to the point where saving time on ten journeys became less than ten quid. The technology made driving in unfamiliar towns possible and safe. The Tom Tom maps had been satisfactory, but not up to date (is any?). #Excellent Value and Great Performance (2009-06-14) I bought this on the recommendation of a relative who has the UK mapping version. It is compact, easily attached and detached from the windscreen, and the power cable for the car is long enough to reach along the centre console to the cigarette lighter socket next to the handbrake in my Mondeo - a very important consideration as battery life is not yet fully up to expectations, although experience from other owners suggests it improves as the battery is conditioned. So far all journeys have went well and directions correct. The device doesnt seem to hold a charge very long. If it is fully charged and switched off, the battery is low by the time it is next used.
