#Good drive once you get it set up on a Mac (2009-07-03) Good price for a 1TB drive, says it works with Mac, so fine for an archive drive as it s only USB not Firewire too. Took way too long to set up, had to work my way through 3 different Macs in the studio to get it working (and I m pretty clued up on this kind of thing!) and even now it isn t recognised by the Macs running on older operating systems. Not a major issue for me, but could be a headache for others. Just a shame when they say something is Mac compatible they never manage to make it as user friendly and logical as a M...
#So simple! (2009-07-02) Amazing - I just literally plugged it in and it worked. What was even better was that it worked on a fairly old Computer passed down from a relative with a DOS I wasn t sure would handle it. No problem. Really pleased with it.
#Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive (2009-06-30) This drive is excellent value for money. It is quiet in operation and runs very cool. Although it is not the fastest it is ideal for storing large graphic and video files.
#WDE review (2009-06-27) I am very pleased with my purchase of the W/D/E 1tb hard drive. I am no expert when it comes to computers but this bit of kit is very simple to use and set up, you just plug it in and your up and running. The design of it, makes it compact and easy to store, on top of your pc if you wish. The 1TB memory is more than you will every need for your photos, films and music needs.
#Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive - Black (2009-06-26) I bought this in May 2009 to replace an older WD model with a smaller capacity (160 GB)As small black boxes go it will not win any design awards. However, it does exactly what I bought it for: store multiple media files reliably. I use mine connected to a powered hub so that I can connect it to different machines. It was easy to set up and use with no problems. Note that it doesn t have an off-on button so depending on how your kit is set up you may find it is on when you don t need it. A solid reliable ...

#Linux user, works well (2009-07-04) This hard drive also works with Linux - MacOS/Windows only required for the auto-run software to auto-run. Cable supplied is a bit short, you need to put the hard drive on a pile of books to make it reach the USB port or get a longer cable. . . otherwise no complaints!
#Caution using WD Sync Software (2009-07-03) I use it as a simple external drive and I am very pleased with it. I am no expert, but I have heard of people experiencing problems using the Sync Software. As the name suggests, this software deletes data on the Passport which has been deleted on the computer hard drive - hence it should not be used as backup software. Luckily I learned of this before my usual habit of diving in without fully understanding the features. So I have not installed the sync software.
#excellent (2009-07-03) I bought this hard drive after a Nesso arrived and never worked. . excellent product. . easy to use and the software is so quick. . transfer is fast if you cut and paste. . would defo buy again
#Just Brilliant (2009-06-20) This product is truly amazing, the size is small, even smaller than I expected. It runs smoothly and powered via the USB cable so you don t need to carry any adapter. For my use the speed is very very good. I transferred 300GB to it easily with no errors. I also play all my movies from this HDD and they run with no lagging at all. It is also worth mentioning that it is formatted as NTFS (windows file format), so if you want to use it with a mac you can buy the already formatted one for the mac. however, I use it with both mac and windows at the same ti...
#OVERALL GOOD, BUT FEW MINOR POINTS ANNOYING (2009-06-15) Good drive, does the job, very light, small size. Now, bad points:1) Gets scratched easily and a lot. I left it on the soft carpet for a few days - looked at surface - full of tiny scratches that cant be removed. 2) The back white LED light is too bright, too big and is blinking all the time. My wife couldn t watch telly in the dark because the harddrive underneath the telly was distracting all the time with blinking and too much brightness. Kind of small thing, but really annoying. How would it be on the plane in the darkne...

#externel usb cd/dvd rom (2009-07-04) A straightforward 5 stars, one of the few things that I have unwrapped plugged in and it worked immediately doing just what I expect of it. It seems fairly durable too and a necessary adjunct to the NC10 I bought it for. JB
#USB CD/DVD player (2009-06-28) Good product - works out of the box - works well with my Dell Mini 10. Arrive in time - albeit 6 days which is a bit slow for first class mail !!. Writes CDs and plays Dvds only so beware if you think it will write Dvds !. Comes with two leads one for the USB link and one for USB power - just in case your PC limits the power output from the USB sockets so thats a good design. Leads are also included as well - which also helps a lot.
#Compact and good value for money. (2009-06-25) About as small as I d expect an external DVD drive to get - very compact. It has a nice matt ruberised coating, although this is already starting to come off at the corners after a few month use. I do cart it around in my backpack unprotected though, so that s not really a surprise. It works well with my Samsung NC10. I had to look online to find DVD software, as it doesn t come with any, but that s not realy a problem. Overall, thumbs up: It works well, is compact and good value for money.
#Just don t do it... (2009-06-15) Under no circumstances buy this product. I bought this CD Rom drive for my Notebook and having wasted money on this and on downloading drivers to use it, it still does not work. A complete waste of time and money. Do not, do not buy it. Pay for something with a brand name on it, it will be safer! I wish I can give it zero stars, it really is rubbish. I am only sorry I have to be harsh, but I am really quite frustrated with it.
#External Drive (2009-06-09) ASUS Eee PC 1000H-WHI066X Netbook, Windows XP Home Preloaded, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD (White) I purchased the drive to go with this PC. Unfortunately, I couldn t get the original to work with this machine though it worked with my previous laptop and desktop, it wouldn t install on Eee. I have, today, received a replacement, all appears to be in order, it self loaded immediately and I was able to load from a disk. However, this was only a trial as I have no immediate need of the drive, it s merely as a backup device should the PC require rebooting from the res...

#Small, Fast and Portable (2009-07-04) Western Digital My Passport Essential 250GB USB Portable External Hard DriveI have bought this item to keep all my music and photo s backed up. I use an Apple and have found no compatibility issues. If you have an Apple with Time Machine, this item works perfectly. The first time it s switched on it will take a good few minutes to back up. After that it is just seconds. I would recommend this hard drive.
#Does the job (2009-07-04) I bought this specifically to go with the Western Digital WDTV. It works flawlessly with this item and is quiet in operation, Just what you need when watching videos.
#Space Saver (2009-07-02) What more do you want, not much bigger than my Itouch, 320GB, plug and play and a cool colour. Shopped about a little, keen not to have to plug into the mains and the USB option is perfect. It ll sit in a draw for most of its life, i only want it so i don t have to burn many CD s to back up my 27 thousand pictures. Took up about 35gb so should last me a while. If yr hard drive died today and the items on it couldn t be recovered how devastated would you be.
#western digital (2009-07-01) great hard driveplug in and playusb powered works with my xbox 360recomended
#Reliable (2009-06-30) I have been using the HDD for a while now and it s perfect. I am even running Windows and Linux Virtual Machines directly from the usb HDD and it works fast, reliable and even without heat problem.

#Good external drive, lousy lead - at first (2009-06-02) Seagate external drives are a good product, as good as they come. My winge concerns the power lead. It came with a strange clip-together two prong Euro plug. By the time I plugged this into a UK adapter, the whole thing looked a right Heath Robinson piece of kit. Am I along in feeling out in the sticks, when we are provided with jury-rigged leads to help us cope with our archaic power system? Don t forget we led the World in the era that these things were set up. That s why we drive on the left, have AC current, funny traff...
#Seagate 500GB external hard drive (2009-06-01) Being a non technical type,I was pleasantly surprised to find it falls into the plug in and play category of computer apparatus. Set up procedure was laid out in a series of easy to follow steps and it was up and running within 15 minutes. Very impressed, the on line support, and product registration was very quick to make itself known. Altogether excellent first impression. Regards George B.
#ALL the external hard drives are crap, BUT thanks for giving a 5 year warranty (2009-04-23) i have had external hard drives before. my seagate 320gb crashed after working 2 years and i lost so many pictures family movies etc. from then i realized that this happen with every external hard drive. so nowdays i back up all the important files to DVDs . its really working. so if u know every hard drive gonna die oneday , what would u buy. . something that offers a long term warranty. so i do not have to spend anymoney on e. h. drives as i will get a free replacement from seagate if th...
#fast, secure, easy software - very happy customer (2009-04-07) Software easy to set up - even for the IT illiterate - and not mandatory if you do not want to use it, 5 yr Seagate guarantee worth something to me as I don t want the back up drive to fail, About as fast as USB 2 allows, First back up took ages but subsequent runs much faster as it updates changed files, Keep it unplugged and away from your machine and you have inexpensive off-site backup.
#Works a treat (2009-02-27) Bought 2 of these disks and they work very well. Wanted a USB drive for a server and these work because they have an external power supply
