#Epson Perfection V300 photo scanner. (2009-06-22) The Epson scanner was bought to enable photographs and slides to be copied. It was easy to install and simple to use, it does what it says on the product description.
#Review of Epsom Perfection V300 Photo Scanner 4800 (2009-06-17) Bought specifically for converting 35mm sides to DVD/Photo, does exactly what promised, as one would expect from Epsom.
#Simple and friendly (2009-06-16) I bought this scanner for a university project, I was fed up of having to go into uni to use a scanner and made the investment. I m glad I did to be honest. It does the job just fine. I ve not used the film slides yet but image quality wise it s great. I ve used it quite a bit and all in all I m quite glad I got. Its easy to use and I use it with programs like photoshop instantly. It does the the job, what else is there to say :)
#Great buy (2009-06-15) Just when I thought all my colour slides, some from the early 1960 s were beyond help I saw the Epson Perfection and decided to try it. Brilliant is all I can say, the best buy I have made in years, I have now scanned 646 slides and photo negative strips, some of my children when they were just babies and they are all perfect. Needless to say many CD s full of photographic memories are being passed around the family.
#Bought for a friend (2009-06-13) Easy to set up. Good scan quality. Not used slide & film scan facility. Power lead & USB connections are not placed in best postion. To early to comment on reliablity.

#The Bees Knees (2009-07-04) Archiving many years of analog negatives is a task facing many photographers after they graduate to digital formats. There s not a lot of dedicated negative scanners available on the market for a reasonable amount of money so I opted for the Epson Perfection V500 as a compromise. It is no compromise however and does a superb job of scanning film of all sizes without fuss. The software that comes with the unit is also super although there is no mention or setting for 6 X 4. 5 negatives and these must be scanned manually without any automated stepping. A ...
#Disappointed, out of focus, returned. (2009-05-25) I was attracted to this scanner due to its good reviews and linux support. Its quoted 4800dpi scan resolution was significantly above my requirements, which were to produce good reference scans at 1200dpi using a reflective scan. However I found that scans above 300dpi just started to look more and more out of focus, rather than higher quality. Printed text did not have sharp edges, the edge of work and the white scanner background did not have defined edge to it. Not knowing if I was all I could expect or a bad unit I spoke to...
#ICE technology a must for scanning negatives (2009-05-22) I ve grown up with digital photography but in the past few years have been increasingly interested in film. After amassing a hefty pile of prints and negatives and not being too happy with the resolution most photo labs provide, I purchased this Epson V500 scanner. In my search I compared this Epson V500 to the similarly priced CanoScan 8800F Film Scanner but went with the Epson due to the inclusion of hardware-based ICE technology. I also looked at some HP photo scanner models but shied away due to some reviews noting the sl...
#Excelent film scanner, for horizon 202 (2009-05-01) This is an excelent film scanner, quick and easy but with a very high resolution. The film holders are a bit flimsy but work fine. Also this scanner is able to process panaramic film from cameras such as the Horizon 202 as well as medium format film.
#Does (more or less) what it says on the tin (2009-04-12) Having used this to scan in a mixture of about 1000 colour slides and photographs (no negatives yet) I think I ve given it a suitable outing. As far as scanning slides goes:After a few hours of testing I came to the conclusion that scanning above 6400dpi is a waste of time and disk space, there s no difference when all images in higher res are scaled to same size on screen. This is not a problem as it still gives images approx 8800x6000 pixels. I find the only software option that can t be done in post processing (Photoshop, Li...

#CanoScan 8800F (2009-06-28) Excellent scanner, I have put in slides, 35mm film, old black and white negatives of various sizes from 35mm to 120 and large format with very good results. Enlargements probably not quite as sharp as the old chemical developing process but 6x4 inch very little difference and it is so much easier with no mess. Scanning of documents very good and much quicker than my old Canon scanner.
#CanoScan 8800F scanner (2009-06-15) Already owning a Canon Lide scanner, used for document scanning, I wanted a scanner that would include the facility for colour slide and negative scanning. I had always been wary of purchasing a scanner that covered both flatbed document, slide and negative work but recommendations for this 8800F scanner helped my decision to purchase. I am really surprised at the quality that can be obtained for both slide and negative scans. Even using a high resolution scan it does not take too long per operation and the large size output files can then be a...
#Great for Slides (2009-06-08) I ve been scanning in old slides (35mm mounted and 6x6 unmounted). The slide and 120 film holder work well. The scan is fairly quick - I think it will be even quicker when I have experimented with the possible resolutions. At the moment I have it on the highest setting, which is probably unnecessary for my purposes of showing on a 22 monitor. Colour and sharpness are far superior to my previous HP scanner. Good quality slides are fine without any tweaking - I use the included Photoshop Elements software for image adjustment of poor images. This softwar...
#Excellent value formoney (2009-06-07) I bought this scanner to digitise my slide and paper photo collection - all 50years worth. It was a toss-up between this and the Epson and Agfa equivalents. I chose this one mainly because of the Which? review. Was up and running very quickly (although it took about half an hour to install the software). Arcsoft is very well integrated with the scanner and, with a bit of experimentation I was able to get some excellent results from slides, 35mm colour and monochrome negatives. The photo editing functions enabled me to correct and adjust the q...
#CanoScan 8800F (2009-05-31) MY THIRD CANON SCANNER. Probably the best all round scanner on the market for documents, photos, negative and slides. Works like a treat and is much quicker than my old Canon 9900F, which was still working well and has been passed on to a family member.

#HP SCANJET G2710 (2009-06-18) Exactly what I wanted in a scanner - quick, good ressolution, portable. Very good value for money. HP ScanJet G2710 Photo ScannerThe item was delivered quickly, another important consideration as my previous scanner had died on me in the middle of a task!
#Very disappointing (2009-04-16) I must have had a faulty scanner, as I couldn t see the previews clearly, found white backgrounds turning blue, creme walls looked white, and there was no way of correcting this with the software provided. I then tried scanning a page of A4 text. This lost the margin and was simply appalling. The manual was of no use. At this price point, the Canon is superior and more versatile.
#Excellent (2009-03-24) Received on time as promised. Works great. Nice simple scanner but produces good images and very good photo copies.
#HP Scanjet G2710 (2009-03-11) I bought this product when my 5-year old HP scanner broke down (burnt out power unit). I was looking for a low price, reliable scanner for everyday home use, with the capability to scan at hi res (9200dpi+) and accept 35m transparencies. This one fits the bill perfectly - very easy set up, good range of options from start-up menu, great quality scans. Only downside is relatively slow speed, but for single scans this is not a problem (but not for the volume scanner. . . )For low price quality brand home-use scanner, thoroughly recommended!

#Good scanner - lousy software (2009-06-14) The Scan-jet G2410 is an up-date of a basically similar model. Simpler switches are an improvement - and they work. The new software is terrible - unnecessarily complicated for such a basic unit. Previous software was much easier and quicker to use.
#HP Scanjet G2410 Scanner (2009-05-24) HP ScanJet G2410 Flatbed ScannerWhen buying a second scanner (I already own an epson sx200 printer scanner, which is great for scanning photos but no good for scanning anything with any kind of depth such as artwork or 3-d objects, plus the true colours of items is sometimes difficult to obtain. )This is where the HP scanjet G2410 is wonderful, scanning objects, photos and artwork with ease. It is also very easy and quick to set up. One of the great things about The G2410 is the access to HP website which is informative and helpful with some gre...
#HP PRODUCTS ALWAYS THE BEST CHOICE (2009-05-24) I have been purchasing HP products for the past 6 years now, I have never been let down, and this scanner based on their former twain scanner still gives excellent results. HP I found is a company you can trust and can do more than even the other big names at a fraction of the price. Don t be fooled by the name, HP is up their competing with the heavies and as far as am concerned, they are winning in my book!
