#Does what it says on the tin. Very well. (2009-06-09) Having played with this camera for over 3 weeks and taken 600+ shots in a recent holiday with a number of different settings / conditions etc. . . I am very pleased with the purchase. My view (non professional) is that this is a really solid performer with no frills (i. e. it s a camera, who cares about video. . . ) and does what it is supposed to very well. I carried it around for days and it s light enough - the battery lasted for days - the quality of the pictures is good - the usability is good with really intuitive layout...
#EOS450D (2009-05-26) I gave this product only **** because the different programs are scatteredtoo wide for me. Oh to have a camera like the EOS 50E it was all so easy then with it s double dial on the top plate. The previous preamble does notdetract from the fact that the EOS450D is a smashing camera.
#camera (2009-04-28) superb camera. easy to use, great to play with. I m not a camera expert, by any means. So this definitely would suit a non professional.
#Good buy for new or improving snappers (2009-03-08) I bought this camera as an upgrade from the 300d. For me this is a major improvement. The large LCD makes changing settings very clear and easier from my previous model. The Live View is an added and useful feature. I would recommend this for new users to DSLR and to anyone like myself who wanted to upgrade.
#Comparison with EOS 40D (2009-02-26) I had a EOS 300D and wanted to upgrade. Initially I bought a Canon EOS 40D Digital SLR Camera - Body Only, although not from Amazon. Its advantages are the much faster burst rate (6 fps) and more versatile controls on the rear of the camera, which make it easier to select AF points. It also feels substantial and beautifully made. The downside of the 40D is that it s a lot bigger and heavier than this camera--which although it s made of plastic still feels very well constructed. Since my 40D was faulty I returned it and ordered this instead. It...

#Fantastic (2009-07-04) This is a superb camera. I had just bought a 50D for my first camera, then this came out and I replaced my 400D second camera with the 500D, which seems to have all the good stuff of the D5 Mark II (i. e. video capture and extended ISO) without the cost and bulk, and without losing half my lenses because they don t fit the D5. The lenses I already had fit the 500D and 50D. I m now wondering how much I ll use the 50D, as the 500 is clearly going to be my first camera: it is the size of the 350, 400, 450 etc. , whereas the 50D is a bulkier camera. I have small...

Just under two years since the D200 Nikon reveals the D300, the range of changes is so significant that it wouldn t be inappropriate to call it a compact D3 (less the full-frame sensor of course). From the top there s a new CMOS sensor with twelve megapixels, a new auto-focus sensor with 51-points (15 of which are cross-type sensitive), there s focus tracking by color, scene recognition, Picture Control presets, six frames per second continuous shooting (or eight frames per second with a battery pack), Compact Flash UDMA support, Live View (with contrast detect AF) and the mighty impressive 3.0 922,000 pixel LCD monitor (oh and HDMI video output). It s an impressive list, the D200 was a fair step up from the D100, the D300 can be seen as just as big a step, certainly more than enough to make the competition sweat.

#What can I say about perfection..... (2009-06-07) What can I say about perfection? If you want a camera that makes you work, then gives you the reward for it, then this is for you. Recommended for any semi-pro or serious amateur.
#Simply great. (2009-04-25) Just upgraded to this from a well used and much loved D100 for digital work. The first thing that strikes you is the feel and weight of the body, this feels like a proper pro SLR should. Having used F3 and F5 pro film cameras for many years the solid feel of the D300 is welcome and very familiar. The basic control layout is also classic Nikon so if you have used a Nikon Pro/ProAm SLR before this will also be totaly familiar. The menu system is comprehensive and highly cutomisable as are the control buttons and wheels. This allows the camera to be adapted ...
#D300 Review (2009-04-18) Nikon D300 Body OnlyI moved from a Nikon D70 (excellent camera) to the D300, which is a much more complex camera. More thought and planning is required. It is a lot more demanding to use, which is partly why I bought it. The camera is solid and very well put together. With more experience I feel confident it (rather than me) will be deserving of five stars!! Very good product, excellent focusing system (from the D3) and very flexible programming. Another excellent Nikon product. Frank
#Phenomonly good camera (2009-02-24) Being a sports-shooter who has just upgraded from the Nikon D50 this camera has given me a new lease of life! The 51-point auto focus system, 6 frames per second, good battery life and excellent ISO performance make is easier to consistently capture the images that I m looking for. The familiar Nikon controls made it an easy switch too. I m recommending the D300 to everyone I meet!
#Best dSLR of 2007, 2008 and (So far) 2009 (2009-02-11) The D300 replaced the D200 in late 2007. The D200 was (and still is) an iconic and pioneering workhorse and legend of photography. The D300 is essentially the same body but improved. But first let s start with what the D300 is NOT:If you are looking for a small and lightweight travel or walkabout camera that is convenient to take everywhere then the D300 is not it. At approx 825g without lens or external flash, the D300 is very nearly DOUBLE the weight of some other models available such as the D40. Similarly, if you are looking...

#Excellent camera, best under 1000pounds (2009-06-02) I wont tire you with technical details, you can read them above. I will mention that digic 14bit, does make a difference from 12bit, nice tecture and smooth gradients (i upgraded from 20d), and that this camera is much faster than her previous models. Solid and quility built. Strongest points are the LCD screen, almost as good as a computers screen, you can check focus properly, menus, and of course A/F micro-adjustment. 15mp are also a plus. Cons, are that there is not much improvement in noise performance (however it is not worse...
#Very good (2009-05-27) I have purchased the Canon 50D 2 weeks ago and I am very happy with it. Great spot metering and good handling.
#Great SLR (2009-04-07) A lot has been said about this camera with many people seeing it (and the 5dMk2) as a return to form for Canon, and to be fair it is a great camera. I owned the 20D for several years and owners of the 20/30/40D models will be pleased to know that the ergonimics of the body are virtually the same to previous bodys if not (in the case of the 40D) identicle. It fits very nicely into the hand, for those who have larger hands it isn`t as small and therefore awkward to use as the 400/450D nor is it as heavy as the 1D series of camera. All buttons are well placed...
#Wow...so so much better now :) (2009-03-04) I have been the happy owner of a 400D for the last 2 years (roughly) and I have learnt a lot from this happy little camera. I always regretted not saving a little more and buying the 30D. I waited and waited and had the money sitting for the updated 40D, but never got around to buying one. I didnt see the point in buying a 40D with 10MP and having a 400D with 10MP. Then this beauty came out, albeit a while ago. . . . Quite honestly the difference is amazing between the 400D and the 50D. It feels better, it feels realer if you can imagine...
#Excellent camera with superb picture quality at a price. (2009-02-19) I bought this camera almost as soon as it was released, at a very competitive price from amazon, so I have had plenty of time to get used to it, and test it fully before writing this review. The first thing you notice is that this is not a small lightweight camera, but is a solid well built camera designed for serious use, yet despite it s size and weight it is still easy to hold and is comfortable to use, for those of you that have used the EOS 40D it has the same body shell as that, and has the advantage of using ...

#Fantastic bit of kit (2009-07-03) I got this camera about a month ago, and it s my first DSLR after spending the past few years with basic point and shoot compacts. First off I can say that this camera is amazing. It s abilities on Auto mode alone make it worth the cost to me. I ve taken a fairly big interest in photography since buying this and the manual has been the biggest help. Easy to understand and well explained, it can help even the most novice of photographers take beautiful pictures to be proud of. My knowledge isn t on a par with most reviews here so I ll leave it at th...
#Simply Superb (2009-06-29) Techie reviews abound therefore question is, is it worth it? an emphatic yes, worth every penny.
#fantastic (2009-06-18) this is a fantastic alround camera, its very fast and has more features than u can find in a week. this is my first nikon as have just upgraded from an olympus e 500 and i will never use anything other than a nikon again!i can also highly recomend the nikon d90 for dummiesbook as it has helped alot getting to know the camera and all the features!the only down point i have found is its a little heavy but then then have fitted alot of things in so they can be let of and you know u have a quality camera every time you pick it up!
#A good upgrade from the D50 - but dont throw away your camcorder (2009-06-11) Bought a D90 a few months ago and so far very pleased. Has twice the megapixels of my old D50 (which was also great). What seems to make a difference to the images is not the extra pixels but the improved metering, noise performance and better balance due to the larger image sensor and better processing electronics. Somehow all my images just look more natural. The Live view (focus from the screen) is a very welcome addition. I love the 18-100 lens as well. I bought for photos only and the video capture...
#Fantastic!!! (2009-06-10) I bought this camera from Argos just over a month ago and cannot praise it highly enough. Absolutely brilliant. The lens that comes with it is good enough for most non-professional day-to-day photography. Excellent quality, very fast, sharp images in all weather conditions. Highly recommended. In terms of higher end consumer DSLR, this one must be in the top 3. 10/10.
