#v good for first DSLR (2009-06-29) I am new to the SLR (or DSLR) world, so this is just perfect. Still learning a lot, and the best way to discover the power of this camera is to change the settings for the same scene and see the differences it creates. The nikon website has a very good video to take you through the different programs and the use for each. However, I couldn t use the P (auto program) as it is suppose to be in the video tutorial, for the settings keeps changing by themselves regardless of the dial turning I am trying to do. I am not sure if this is how it works...
#to buy or not (2009-06-28) this is my frist DSR camera i have had alot of compacts in the past up to 10m this was what i was worried about because it is only 6m but having be on hoilday and taking just over 1100 pics on it and the wife take pics on a compact 10m the pics on this are so much fuller of colour and the fine detail is alot lot better and for the price i would tell every body to one and it has lots of informtion on the menus that help you learn how to take better pics
#You cannot get better than this. Buy one!! (2009-06-22) I bought this camera on the advice of my brother, who is something of a camera buff. Initially, I was looking for a good compact, but he convinced me of the error of my ways and I bought this. Am I glad I did!I won t bore you with the details, as everyone else has written far more eloquently on the subject than I ever could, but if you go to Ken Rockwell s excellent website (Ken Rockwell dot com) and read his review of the D40 it will tell you everything you need to know and more. You can even link through to Amazon from there a...
#amazing! (2009-06-21) this was my first dlsr, and i love it, it s so goo, and produces photos so much better than the digital camera i was using. very good, reccommend it to anyone :) also cheap + the lense is good :)
#Cheaper and Better than D40X (2009-06-20) The only major difference between the two is that D40X comes with 10 megapixel. This allows you to take bigger photos, probably too big for novices. And we should notice that with a smaller megapixel value, D40 actually outperforms D40X in sharpness (not always but this applies on this situation). At the moment D40 is cheaper than D40X by almost half. For anyone whoever struggling between the two, buy the D40.

#More than just an entry camera (2009-06-26) Having looked carefully for a low priced DSLR,I found this camera,it is all and more than I expected, easy to hold and handle, very quick and silent in all functions. An excellent camera for anyone on a fixed budget. Sony DSLR-A200K Digital SLR Camera + Zoom Lens Kit (18-70mm F3. 5-5. 6)
#Perfect for Beginners / Casual Users, 5***** (2009-06-23) I bought this camera a few months ago, I have tried many types of photography and it has been simply perfect for everything i have tried. I would certainly recommend the Sony A200k camera to anyone.
#Good all round performer (2009-06-23) I bought this for holiday and family snaps it seems to be very versitile and easy to use. I am not an expert photographer but the output from compact cameras did n t seem so good and I was n t able to take the photos I wanted. This camera is only a bit more than a compact but gives better pictures. I have always preferred the SLR format in that you get what you see. At the same time as buying the camera I bought a book on how to use it on Amazon and I am glad I did since the instruction manual was very poor. I would recommend anyone else new t...
#good decision (2009-06-22) I have owned this camera for almost a month now and although i am stil finding out what all the buttons and settings are for i am very happy with it ,so much so that i have taken over a thousand pictures with it. definately a step up from my compact camera
#Sony A200K dslr (2009-06-19) After a few years using a compact digital camera and having previously been a film slr user, this camera has renewed my enthousiasm for photography especially of wildlife. So far so good and I can see my results improving. would recommend it wholeheartedly!!!

#Fantastic bit of kit (2009-07-03) I got this camera about a month ago, and it s my first DSLR after spending the past few years with basic point and shoot compacts. First off I can say that this camera is amazing. It s abilities on Auto mode alone make it worth the cost to me. I ve taken a fairly big interest in photography since buying this and the manual has been the biggest help. Easy to understand and well explained, it can help even the most novice of photographers take beautiful pictures to be proud of. My knowledge isn t on a par with most reviews here so I ll leave it at th...
#Simply Superb (2009-06-29) Techie reviews abound therefore question is, is it worth it? an emphatic yes, worth every penny.
#fantastic (2009-06-18) this is a fantastic alround camera, its very fast and has more features than u can find in a week. this is my first nikon as have just upgraded from an olympus e 500 and i will never use anything other than a nikon again!i can also highly recomend the nikon d90 for dummiesbook as it has helped alot getting to know the camera and all the features!the only down point i have found is its a little heavy but then then have fitted alot of things in so they can be let of and you know u have a quality camera every time you pick it up!
#A good upgrade from the D50 - but dont throw away your camcorder (2009-06-11) Bought a D90 a few months ago and so far very pleased. Has twice the megapixels of my old D50 (which was also great). What seems to make a difference to the images is not the extra pixels but the improved metering, noise performance and better balance due to the larger image sensor and better processing electronics. Somehow all my images just look more natural. The Live view (focus from the screen) is a very welcome addition. I love the 18-100 lens as well. I bought for photos only and the video capture...
#Fantastic!!! (2009-06-10) I bought this camera from Argos just over a month ago and cannot praise it highly enough. Absolutely brilliant. The lens that comes with it is good enough for most non-professional day-to-day photography. Excellent quality, very fast, sharp images in all weather conditions. Highly recommended. In terms of higher end consumer DSLR, this one must be in the top 3. 10/10.

#Nikon D60 (2009-06-26) Having a Sony cyber shot digital compact I was looking for something that would raise the game a little. The Nikon D60 is all I was looking for and more. Either in auto mode or using the optional manual settings the camera produces good clear images every time. A little heavier than I am used to but not as weighty as my old Canon SLR. If anyone is looking for some sophistication without the complication, at a good price I can recommend the D60. The range of optional lenses are worth considering if you intend to become serious about your digital photography.
#Nikon D60 DSLR (2009-06-20) Bought this camera recently and fell in love with it. Simple enough to point and shoot and advanced enough to allow for creativity. I especially like the sports mode and the continuous shoot facility. Menus are quick and easy to access and with a bit of practice you can change settings in seconds. Would recommend this camera for anyone stepping up from a compact
#Nikon D60 (2009-06-18) The experience has been very interesting. After many years of using a Canon camera along with film, this was my first real experience of digital photgraphy. It is taking a long time to find my way through and everything to do with using the camera seems to be new, especially at my advanced years. I am still struggling along and enjoying it all. The camera is beautifully made. Gives a little feeling of solidity which I have always liked, and the books that came with it, unlike the usual with instructions whish are often written in a language which tends towa...
#Not as good as the Canon (2009-06-15) I jumped ship from the Canon 400D to this thinking I was moving over to the better side. How wrong I was. Personally, just to highlight the differences, the things I miss from the canon are these:1) More spot matrix focusing points, the canon has 9 the Nikon has 3. This makes it murder trying to get decent macro photos if your point of focus is anywhere outside of these three points, making it very likely. 2) The canon 400d has an AMAZING fully manual black and white function. Now most people will not be fussed by this and prefer post-product...
#Nikon D-60 Digital SLR (2009-06-06) My husband and I purchased this as a wedding gift for his daughter. The idea being to take photos of the wedding and to give the camera to them after. The camera is great. The manual is not. If you are an avid photographer and can sort through the jargon this may not present a problem - but for mere mortals it is a real obstacle. If you are new to this kind of camera, expect a steep learning curve. This said, I was reluctant to hand it over. Given more time to get to know it I feel it would have great creative potential.

#Arrived Falty (2009-06-14) First I should state that I was a canon fan. My father has used a canon when we were young. I love this brand. However the 450D was a big disappointment. The viewfinder was not aligned. I have my refund now and will never buy a canon until they solve the reliability issues. Shame on you Canon
#good starter DSLR kit (2009-06-09) Have used this product for about 6 months now. First DSLR camera/kit I used. Very pleased with it (have taken about 7000 shots). Quality of my shots have increased multi-fold (both composed and spontaneous). I use the kit lens (especially the 18mm wide-angle) the most along with the macro lens (I also have 50mm FFL (another excellent lens) and 55-250mm lens). For any beginner who would like to start with DLSR, I find this kit excellent. There is a sharp learning curve moving from a normal digital camera to a DSLR, but I guess anyone buying ...
#Great piece of kit (2009-05-28) Fantastic camera. . really pleased with it. It is very easy to use. All the controls are exactly where they should be. Setting exposure lock or changing the white balance etc is quick and easy. Not sure about the sensor cleaner though as I have only had the camera for a few weeks and have a bit of dirt on the sensor already that cant be shifted with that feature. Camera arrived very quickly too (I opted to pay the extra for the express delivery though).
#Excellent for Beginners!!! (2009-04-26) I was looking for my first dslr and finally it was either the Nikon d80 or or the canon EOS 450D, i finally selected the Canon and i am already starting to love it. Although i may not be a pro like some of you here. . . . this camera is a excellent piece. . . Its not too heavy. . . the battery is good enough, its comfortable to handle and the adjustments are quiet friendly (although, it took me some time to figure out some of the settings :)) I have the lens that came with the kit, but you may think of buying seperate lens once you get comfor...
#I wanted to mention the Image Stabilizing Lens (2009-04-21) Ok, So I just bought this camera and lens kit. I m really not going to say much about the camera as there are so many detailed reviews on here I doubt I would add much. I would say though that this is, as almost everyone says, a superb camera. Ok onto the lens. One thing that I was interested in was the Image Stabilizer built into the lens. Is it worth it?, how well does it work? etc, allow me to elaborate. The IS technology is built into the lens and using some clever trickery will help to stabilize the image when it is s...
