Hauppauge WinTV Nova-TD 500

#WinTV Nova TD500 (2009-05-29) Tuner is good and works exactly as advertised (am using with Vista Media Center). Only problem I ve had is with the remote control which isn t working at all (NB I had a similiar problem with a previous Hauppauge card under Vista and eventually found a solution, so maybe there ,s still hope).

#You will get there in the end (2009-05-02) I installed this on Windows Business Vista 64 and initially I got sound and tiny multiple postage stamp tv images. Downloading the lastest drivers from Hauppauge did not fix this but the latest version of Win-TV did. #Doesn t work in Vista 64 with 4GB Memory (2009-04-04) Card doesn t work reliably in Vista 64 with 4GB of memory. You get error messages stating that the Tuner is already in use and the only solution is to reboot the machine - which means it won t reliably record from standby. The manufacturer has issued no drivers to fix this and makes no mention of the limitation either in the product documentation or on their website. Do not consider this card!

#Brilliant for MythBuntu (2009-04-03) I m using one of these in a MythBuntu based HTPC in the UK (FreeView system). It just worked out of the box pretty much - a little bit of tweaking of the config file (switching on the LNA amp and disabling an auto-sleep mode for the card) and all is now great. The ability, under MythBuntu, to use the two tuners to simultaneoulsy record 10 programmes or watch one and record 9 - so long as they are only on a max of two different multiplexes - makes this a very very flexible piece of kit. #Vista Media Centre (2009-02-21) Works perfectly with Windows Vista Ultimate. The dual tuners allow you to watch one channel and record another one, or record two channels at the same time. Also red button features can be used by installing the TV Pack released to OEMs, although this can be found in lots of places on the internet. All in all its awesome! :D

#great hardware, bad support (2009-05-12) Easy to install , very capable hardware and that is where all the good stops. Software supplied is very limited and buggy. HD does not work, you need to find codec on the internet. ITV HD doesn t work they advise you to purchase another software as already mentioned here. Does not work with DiSEqC switch. #Hauppauge Nova S2 and Nova T500 TV cards (2009-03-09) I have recently installed both the Hauppauge WinTV Nova S2 and the WinTV Nova-500 cards in my HTPC. Both work very well with Mediaportal. The WinTV software that is delivered with the Nova-T-500 card is fine if you want to watch TV on your PC but it isn t really up to using as a home theatre product. #All but the channel setup works very well (2009-03-02) Installation and setup went very well until I had to install the patches for Media Center - this worked but downloading the channels, deleting all of the junk stations from the list and resetting the guide to the right channels was very difficult.

#Good hardware, poor software (2008-10-26) The card is easy to install and does what it is supposed to but the software bundled with it is difficult to use and buggy. Vista Media Center will detect the card once the Hauppauge patch is installed but it cannot detect or play HD channels. #good but doesnt pick up all freeview channels (2009-06-14) I recently dropped cable TV and went for freeview. I had a pretty decent arial set up and i can pick up most things throgh the freeview tuner on my tv. However this card only picks up around 30% of the channels which is disappointing. Hauppauge support isnt the best either - their advice was a 3 word response buy a booster.

#Great adding card (2009-02-11) Got this for the computer and a 500gb hard drive, its great good quality recorded digital TV. no image or sound quality issues. The only gripe which can be lived with is the epg service, which works but is not integrated with the TV viewing package. And a slight pause when switching channels.

#WinTV-HVR110 Review (2008-11-10) Hauppauge WinTV HVR1100 - Vista ready Hybrid PCI TV Tuner. Analogue / Digital freeview TV on your PC!This was a waste of money and a huge disappointment. It is installed on PC with a dual core processor & 3gbytes+ of memory, running Vista and it runs like a dog. Most of the time it can t find the digital stations, and on the analogue stations the lipsync is all over the place. I should have returned the item as not fit for purpose, but never got around to it.

#Hauppauge WinTV HVR1300/Hybrid analogue and digital PCI TV tuner, with hardware video encoder (2009-02-01) This is working on a MythTV setup on Gentoo 2. 6. 28-r1 Linux. The hardware encoder is not unfortunately operating under Linux yet - however this is picking up DVB-T as a decoder absolutely fine under Linux. The IR facility is working with LIRC correctly.
