#Speeds up scanning using the OpticFilm 7500 (2009-06-09) If you re scanning lots of slides you definitely need two film holders - one in the scanner to scan 4 slides in a batch, whilst you re unloading and reloading 4 slides in the second holder.

#good unit overall (2009-04-09) The hp Scanjet G3110 is a reasonably priced and solid piece of kit which scans a variety of objects [including photo negatives and slides] well and has easy to use and efective manipulation tabs. Quite large but not unattractive looking. Can be operated from buttons on the unit or on-screen. The software provides many scan & set up options so reading the instructions is quite a good idea. Not sure why so many desktop icons are needed and the photo management software is not rally necessary as most people will be using Picasa or something similar ...

#HP Scanjet G3110 Photo Scanner (2009-02-28) I have only been using this scanner during this past month but I am pleased with it. Even slides made in 1960, which had turned reddish brown, have been well restored apart from a slight pink tinge at the edges. There is the odd hiatus when I have to start again, after the software has encountered a difficulty, which is why I have not given it five stars but I am still pleased.

#Scanjet G3110 (2009-02-25) Easy to set up, but saying that the package had to be reloaded a second time as it failed the first time. Copies of documents to word/PDF excellent, photos ok not yet got around to negatives, but so far very happy with the product

#Brian Sussex (2009-02-08) This is my second go at getting my old slides to computer. The first another make didn t work at all. So was worried this might be the same. Delivery was quoted three weeks arrived one. Have scanned 150 slides this week and was very pleased how the came out. My operating system is Vista 64. This has caused problems on the other make. For the money I think this is a good buy.

#Great time saver (2006-12-16) A real boon if you have a lot of slides to scan, this attachment for the LS-5000 scanner works pretty well and saves hours. Setting up is simple - you just slot it into the front of the scanner, which has to be lying in the horizontal position. It takes 50 slides and there is a slightly fiddly adjustment for thickness of mount - so it s best not to mix thin and thick in the same batch. It worked faultlessly with plastic mounts but old card mounts quite often got stuck - this is a pain because resetting the scanner scrambles the Nikonscan software so ...
