#a point and shoot that will give an SLR a run for its money (2009-07-01) i have owned digital cameras for some years now, my other Panasonic models are the LX2 and the TZ3. I also own traditional film SLR but have not been swayed towards digital SLR yet, and this is a camera that is not going to change that decision!i have only 2 major criticisms of this camera. firstly there is no manual mode, for focus or aperture/shutter settings (but my lx2 gives me that) and secondly it has a dedicated (not AA/AAA etc. ) battery. That means you have to buy a couple of spares because if you are ...
#Super little compact (2009-06-30) My partner owns the TZ5, which is a great little camera and I would have purchased one for myself, except Panasonic decided to superseded it with the TZ6, which for some extraordinary reason, Panasonic saw fit to reduce the size of the LCD display. . . why! I would have bought the TZ6. It makes no sense, the cameras bodies are identical. I can t help thinking this oversight was cunning ploy to get us to fork out the extra dosh for the TZ7, if so, it worked on me, because I bought one and have not looked back. Apart from the stunning AVCHD video mode...
#Not quite there (2009-06-28) Overall this camera is excellent as a point a shoot camera especially if you use some of the manual or scene setting features. Slightly disappointing battery life as many reviews gave this excellent lifetime but you will typically need to charge the battery after a day of use (50-100 pictures). The other recommendation is not to use the Intelligent Auto for indoor shots - switch to manual and set white balance. But other than that the camera has produced some excellent photos. One other comment - for the HD video, you will need a computer capable of ru...
#Nearly perfect! (2009-06-24) Panasonic Lumix TZ7 Digital Camera - Black (10. 1MP, 12x Optical Zoom) 3. 0 LCDI ve recently bought this camera, an upgrade from the FX33. I am so far very impressed with it. The monitor is nice and big and the picture is very clear. The functions seem good so far. The zoom is smooth and the choices of different quality video (from Jpeg to 720p HD) is an excellent improvement. It also records sound in Dolby Stereo 2. 0, which is not mentioned on the product description. Also, excellent is wide angle and being able to zoom whilst recording footag...
#An excellent piece of kit (2009-06-23) Having a good deal of top rate Canon DSLRs and the Canon G9,I was a bit wary of buying the Panasonic TZ7, but after reading all the reviews I could about this camera I decided to buy it as a pocket sized compact. I have not been disappointed. This is an excellent camera which will not let you down. It produces really good images especially when using the Panasonic Ai system. The 12x optical zoom lets you get really close to your subject and the built in stabilisation helps to keep your pictures pin sharp. I have no hesitation in recommending t...

#Lumix TZ6 (2009-06-29) This classy, light camera was recommended by a friend to replace my ageing Nikon Coolpix which was slow to reload and difficult to focus. The Lumix is excellent - quick to reload, easy to use and ,with a 2GB SD card, has loads of memory for both stills and videos. The zoom/wide-angle lens gives plenty of scope to compose shots. As with most compact digital cameras, there s no viewfinder but, away from direct sun, the LCD monitor screen is perfectly clear. The pictures are amazingly shake-free , even in poor light, but a tweaking on Picasa 3 remedies any under-...
#Great little camera (2009-06-26) This camera is the bees knees. For a pocket size camera it does everything I wanted it to do plus more. I ve only had it a month, so haven t explored all the settings yet, but the results so far are great. The optical 12xzoom is brilliant, as good as a larger, more expensive camera. The trimming facility works really well, though the pictures can become a bit grainy if they are enlarged too much. So far so good - I love it. Fiona, Isles of Scilly
#Absolutely Superb! A little beauty (2009-06-22) I have used a number of digital cameras in the past but have been disappointed with either the low power of the zoom or the quality of the resulting image. I read reviews of the Panasonic DMC-TZ6 and when I bought one I am extremely pleased with the results, The overall quality and particularly shots at extreme zoom. My particular interest is wildlife photography(amateur) and to be able to carry the camera in my pocket means it is readily available for unexpected shots. Have just got a superb views of a yellowhammer and whitethoat.
#Fantastic camera (2009-06-20) My boyfriend recommended this camera to me as one which would be more functional than aesthetic. I previously owned a Olympus 5 mpx camera which took a long time to start up, was bulky to carry around and had a low battery life. The Lumix is far better - it starts up quickly and has excellent battery life. It may be a bit heavy and bulky, but the photo quality is excellent and more than makes up for it. There are many functions and settings, like the particularly helpful Beach function which means I no longer have the sun getting in the way of beautifu...
#A Great Little Camera (2009-06-20) I bought this to replace my Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom, which had finally given up after nearly five years. At the time it had the longest fixed lens zoom available at 10x optical, and had a well built, traditional camera shape. When I first received the Lumix I couldn t beleive how small and light it was in comparison, and with a 12x optical zoom too. (This will increase if you select a lower MP and there is also digital zoom). At first I struggled getting decent pictures with it, due to shake and slow autofocus I d always used the Olympus on a trip...

#A Good All-Rounder (2009-05-03) I really like this camera! It is reasonably small and light and takes good pictures. I have put some images taken with my TZ6 at Hornsea on Share your own customer images. The main selling point of this camera is the 12x optical zoom lens. I was a bit wary at first that, at maximum zoom, camera shake could be an issue. But I find that it shouldn t be a problem so long as you turn the stabilizer on (mode 2 is most effective) force a reasonably fast shutter speed, get a good hold on the camera, and squeeze the shutter button gradually. The Intellig...
#Super smart camera (2009-04-23) This little camera size belies the many features it possesses. Take time to read the manual a few times to find out all it can do - it s worth it. The picture quality in the Intelligent Auto mode is fabulous and simple to use. The more enthusiastic photographers will appreciate the custom features. Normally I steer clear of anything other than Auto, but this camera makes it so easy to use more sophisticated features that I had a go and enjoyed playing about with my photos. The battery is light and long lasting. The optical zoom is better than tha...

#Canon Speedlite 430EX II review (2009-06-15) I ve had this product for a little over 6 months now and have been very impressed with the photos I ve been able to take, being able to angle the flash head to bounce light off walls, ceilings etc has given me some great photographic effects. One thing I was a bit disapointed about was not being able to use the speedlite remotely with the IR unit I have, I think I m going to have to buy a IR unit with built in channels compatible with the 430EX. Other than that I m very happy with it.
#430EX II review (2009-06-14) I bought this recently for a Canon 40D & have found it excellent both indoors (bounced or straight) or outdoors for fill flash. Its not too big or heavy, only has E-TTL or manual, but this is all you need. Nicely made as well & now features a locking metal mounting foot. Recommended.
#Just the right thing (2009-05-24) Bought for use with 450d camera+standard and super wideangle lenses. 40 EX II is a perfect choice when you don t need the power and featuresof 580 EX which is also bigger and heavier.
#Canon Speedlite 430 EXII (2009-05-11) I ve not had this flash for long, but I bought it to go with my EOS5D MkI. Its a nice substantial peice of kit, solid feel and not plasticky at all. It comes in a nice carry pouch as well which is not listed anywher in its selling blurb. It is quite amazing in all its features, and has an impressive range of light. I can thoroughly recommend it.
#Real person review (2009-05-08) I m into photography, Very amatuer but can take brilliant pics. got a 350D and wanted a speelite just in case for my friends wedding. After a late night comparing ALL the various main market products (Canon, Sigma Jessops) I made a decision on this 430EX. The reason. . . . It isn t as good as the Sigma for light strength (guide No. value) but is plenty strong enough, it has illuminated screen, communicates with your Canon camera to supply lens info etc. can be used as a remote slave or via a wire from the camera (handy if ya want to do arty farty ...

#lives up to its reputation (2009-06-12) I bought this camera mainly for its incredible zoom facility. My standard, basic digital camera proved to be totally inadequate at a recent tennis event and therefore my photos were a big disappointment. But whilst choosing the Olympus SP-590UZ to overcome similar problems in the future, I am thoroughly satisfied with the camera s overall performance and ease of use. The various professional reviews placing this camera at the top of their list are therefore justified in my estimation. The accompanying user disks leave no problems unanswer...
#Olympus SP-590UZ Compact Digital Camera (12MP, 26x Wide Optical Zoom) (2009-05-20) I have had this camera for over a month now, it is really an upgrade from a compact which I wanted, I have a SLR camera but you have to cart around a few lens, this camera has all I want and you are not wasting film and can see the pictures instantly. The zoom is ok but like all cameras with a zoom lens you need a tripod to steady the camera. I like the macro setting, you can get in very close, there are plenty of other settings but like my other compact digital camera I have tried them out but might n...
#SP590UZ, a camera with zoom zoom! (2009-04-16) A rundown of the more significant items:Zoom range:So much zooooom you won t know what to do with it, it gives optical detail on par with some bird spotting scopes. Full zoom gives pleasantly good quality images. Colour fringing is apparent at extremes of the zoom range, but it is still good considering the sheer amount of optical zoom range the camera has to cater for. The full zoom photo quality from the SP590 easily beats my SP550 with Tcon17 teleconverter. Wide angle suffers from significant barrelling, this disappears when a bit of ...
