#Nice product (2009-06-18) Worked straight out of the box. Only had to install the software on each PC that needed to access the Belkin Network Hub, I had no problem with either XP or VIsta. Great product for the money.
#Sloooooooooooooow (2009-05-30) So, apparently you can share up to fifteen devices via this thing on the network. Brilliant. So that s your printer, scanner and erm. . . well that really just leaves the one main thing that people would buy this for - networked storage. I have a multitude of external HDs, and the product description for this sounded ideal - be able to share them on the network quickly, but without needing the knowledge to set up a NAS storage thingy. Imagine my delight upon setting it up (and it is remarkably easy to do so), plugging in a HD and bing, there it is...
#Perfect for my needs (2009-05-24) Did exactly what I wanted, to share my USB printers ans Scanner with my family s PCs and laptops. Scanner was problematic but I think that has more to do with MS Vista than the hub.
#Very Important To Understand This!!! (2009-05-02) This is a great item, but I suspect that many other may make the same error that I did. THIS DEVICE IS NOT WIRELESS ITSELF. It must be connected to your router physically using an ethernet cable. I jumped the gun and though that I could place the USB device in my bedroom whilst the wireless router was in the lounge. . . sooo wrong. Apart from that, it works great and I have my printer shared accross the net without having to switch on the main computer. Also my external hard drive is connected and shared, but beware transfer speeds...
#Belkin USB Hub (2009-04-29) This is ideal for anyone using a remote router. bit of a pain being slower than the standard USB speed but something you have to get used too. I have the 500GB hard drive & printer linked thro the hub & its ideal for a remote siting in the house (just remember to switch the printer & hard drive on.

#Pleased with the Drobo and DroboShare (2009-06-28) I purchased the Drobo and DroboShare two months ago and have been pleased with its performance so far. Unboxing and setting up the Drobo was very straightforward. I opted to set it up via USB initially, using 2x250gb and the provided Drobo Dashboard software on a Mac. The process was painless and I was up and running in no time. Switching to the DroboShare from USB was equally painless, although as other reviewers have mentioned there is some loss of transfer speed when using the DroboShare. For backup purposes it seems to be more...
#Poor build quality and not as robst as expected (2009-06-22) I bought the Drobo a few weeks ago after a friend had seen it online. It looked excellent, robust, hugely configurable and there is the ability to start with only 2 disks and expand as need dictates. On trying to set it up, the disk would not go into the first slot, and the 2nd slot would not open properly. When I looked I found that a piece of broken plastic in the top bay was preventing the disk from being inserted, and removed it. I also found a small spring was jamming the 2nd bay door and when it came free the door ...
#Its good ... but (2009-06-13) Ok. . sooo I do the research and after some time I take the plunge and buy a Drobo. I have to say there has been a lot of thought put into the design on the packaging. Very well thought out and it looks amazing. It a real shame that more thought didnt go into the actual workings on the product. The ease of use is fantastic simply insert your disks of any size into the bays and away you go. It does the rest for you. The problem is when you actually start pushing it. It doesn t perform well under load and seems to power cycle at every given opportu...
#Droboshare Sucks! (2009-06-08) Don t be tempted to buy this for the free Droboshare, it s awful! The Drobo itself is great, not quite as fast as a regular USB/Firewire hard drive, but I guess that s just the price you pay for the security of knowing your data is safe. The Droboshare however is abysmal, firstly it s slow (almost halving the transfer speed to the drive) so don t be fooled by mentions of Gigabit ethernet, it transfers at just barely above 100mb ethernet on my gigabit network. The worst thing about it though? It turns the Drobo into a device you can t trust with your d...
#Drobo a good storage solution (2009-06-08) Simple, easy to operate and is an ideal way to build up storage as required. I initially fitted two 1 terrabyte drives but will add larger drives once they are more established, I have two spare drive bays in which I can insert these later and then will ultimately replace the two 1 Terrebyte drives as it is very easy to change them. Only niggle I have is that the system can be placed in standby easily remotely which is great but you have to remove and replace power to leave standby mode. It does seem to have a power down mode if not used for...

#Easier than a server? (2009-05-28) I have had the driver for about 8 months and have about 100 users accessing it. Its very easy to use and the fact that my users cannot delete (they go into the trashcan) has saved me dozens of hours retrieving items from tape. An added bonus is that you can add 2 USB brives of it which i use to back up the drive. If I had one criticism it s that after a power cut the whole unit crashed and the only way to get it working was to flash the bios. The problem with this was that all the domain settings where lost so there is no security on the individu...
#Not bad - worked first time! (2008-12-23) had this for 1 week now - was expecting the worst since most NAS drives seem difficult to use - but within 5 minutes of plugging in and installing the software I was sharing files across my network - VERY PLEASED with that. Then converted it to Raid 1 in 3 clicks. Web interface is not really suitable for joe public but then is joe public going to buy a NAS drive? Its also quiet but I have it stored away from where I sit. True, the write/read performance is way below a Thecus, or Synlogic, but so is the price - i got this for 287 at misco (...

#poor (2009-05-12) Easy to set up and administer BUT . . . Incredibly slow (even when using wired ethernet) - twelve seconds to open a 500KB Jpeg photo (not including spinup time) is unacceptable. OK for backups but no good for live access to mediaTo use it on LAN you must format as FAT32, not NTFS. This then means . . . No support for multi-user security, you can either access it (-rwxrwxrwx) or you can t. Linux users will find this a major drawback. Windows users probably won t notice as they will be used to this. Problems supporting timestamps on files! Not really NAS. I am ...
#Great.... until it breaks. (2009-04-23) I first got one of these drives from a high street retailer in March 08. It was easy to get up and running. It wasn t all that fast, but it was fast enough for me. Quiet, good looks and the ability to wind down after it hadn t been used for a set number of minutes were among my favourite features. 3 months later it stopped connecting to the network. The Ethernet connection was dead. Got a refund and bought another from Amazon because I missed having it. This time it lasted for 8 months before the same problem occurred again. Go...
#does what it states on the box, (2009-03-07) Worked first time no problems setting up on Vista, however for some reason on XP ended up configuring the software via ip address.
#Good Network Disc for SOHO etc. (2009-01-26) This product does exactly what it says and represents good value for money if you want to use it as a network disc for a small SOHO network. The case is used as a heat sink for the disc so it does get pretty warm, discs do get hot. So far ours has worked well (touch wood) with reasonable performance and Freecom have been helpful with answers. You probably shouldn t buy it if you want a multi-media silo (as it is FAT32 only in this mode) or if you are looking for high performance in intensive use, but for more typical SOHO use it fits ...
#Quality piece of kit (2009-01-21) Had this for a couple of weeks now and I am impressed, with a couple of provisos. The first is that if attaching to a router which acts as DHCP server, you MUST first attach the drive to your PC and use the configuration utility to switch off the unit s own DHCP server, otherwise you will not even see the drive on the network. I also then had the problem that the IP address the drive had initially assigned itself kept popping up instead of the dynamic IP address assigned by my router. My workaround was to assign a static IP address to the drive usi...

#Music Heaven (2009-05-26) I have to admit when I opened the box I did think what have I done, the plastic boxes and speakers didn t inspire me at all. Putting the bits together was easy although setting up the wireless element took a few reads of the instructions before it all fell into place. (being a bit of a technophobe!!). I then started to work my way through my music collection(still an on going process). The results have been amazing, the sound clarity is superb, the unit is easy to use and I love the Jukebox facility and the DJ moods are very cleverly filtered into morning ...
#Music player (2009-05-13) Great product, Setup easy, DAB radio not great reception, I,m going to install a DAB aeriel, hopefully the reception will be OK then.
#Sony Gigajuke (2009-05-12) Took a little time and effort to set up but working fine now. Compact, good sound quality, no discs to add clutter. Multi room benefit. It s the business.
#Brillant piece of gadget (2009-05-11) I was a little bit skeptical about the Sony Giga Juke, i braved it and got one from Amazon and it s been amazing what it does. I think it s a music storage database and a server combined. Playing some latin jazz i could pick out all the tiny little notes, the clarity of the sound is great. It s a fantastic hifi for any music lover, loads of functions that am yet to explore, it makes your music accessible and you have a number of options to suit you. I ll recommend this product any time. If you leave in an old brick house you might need to ...
#nas-sc55 Giga Juke multi roomYes it (2009-02-15) Yes its a great bit of kit takes looooads of cds took quite some time to put our collection in. Connected to the internet easy wireless but found it better wired if no title is found it soon was using net The reason marked down was the use of the key pad (remote control) for editing a bit long and sometimes tedious. Another point i found was the dab aerial is a bit flimsy not what i would call substantial, needed more so now that most radio station broadcastings are dab if not will be. The sound quality i found to be of a very good ...
