#Good Pump (2009-06-22) After leaving the hospital, I was having feeding problems, so I used this pump to help increase my milk supply. I managed to pump more colostrum with this pump than I did using the electric pump at the hospital. I liked the ease of use of the electric pump, but this pump is also very easy to use and easy to assemble. I am very pleased with this pump. The only thing I didn t care for was after boiling it many times to sterilize it, it started squeaking as I used it. I think this is because we have really hard water. Using a sterilizing solution or a s...
#This pump sucks ... but not milk (2009-06-15) I bought this pump lured by promotional price in a high street shop. Biggest mistake ever and waste of money. This pump is full of flaws:1. design - the pump consists of no less than seven parts that have to be disassembled for cleaning, assembly requires a time-consuming attachment of two silicone rubber gaskets (the breast part and suction membrane) 2. suction - the vacuum is being created only when the lever is being pressed, once the lever is fully depressed, suction stops and milks stops flowing3. reliability - two other revie...
#frustrating pump (2009-05-28) I have recently bought a philips avent manual breast pump and recently returned it in exchange for another brand. I found it very frustrating as the circular valve kept popping out during expressing, I had to stop pull the pump apart re-fit the valve and continue only for it to pop out again and again and again, this reduces the sterility and is inconvenient as I use the pump at work, not to mention it takes longer!Maybe I just bought a dud but when you spend more than £20 on a product you don t expect it to be so so so frustrating! I did like the spe...
#best buy ever for a new mum (2009-03-03) I used this pump with my first son on and off and thought it was good. However, my second son was born with a tongue tie and couldnt latch on so i had to non-stop express for him (five times a day). It was then that i realised just how fantastic the pump is. I can easily express about 10oz in around 8 mins and thats incredibly fast. I bought the medela mini electric pump when this one broke from wear and tear, and that was so bad i sent it back - it took 40mins to express 2oz! As you can imagine, i went out and bought this one again without ...
#Pump it real good! (2009-03-02) I bought this for my wife as she was having problems with breastfeeding and the baby latching on properly. This item really has been great. I think its one size fits all which means it will work on all size of women (and my wife is really small at 5ft 1in). Its powerful and can pump about 120ml in just 5 minutes. As its manual there is no need for batteries or rechargers. It really is exceptional.
#great product (2009-06-22) First of all I was amazed by super quick delivery - ordered the item in afternoon and received next day early morning! :)That s brilliant!I m really happy with the pump I purchased. Now I can express milk very quick and easy. Had a manual pump which I founded very difficult to express milk. :( So after manual pump this electric pump was like salvation for me. I allready recommended this pump to my pregnant friends :) and I recommend to all people who is reading my review.
#Well Recommended (2009-06-18) When looking to purchase an electric breastpump I would strongly recommend the Avensis IQ Uno. I was unable to breastfeed and managed to express milk up to 8-10 times a day for nearly 2 months and it did a really good job. I would give one word of advice, be careful when plugging/unplugging the power cord into the top of the product each time as I was a little vigorous and broke mine, thankfully there is an option to manually pump with a seperate attachment which saved my life and also makes the product very easy if you need to be out and about. If ...
#hi mums to be (2009-06-14) Hey mums to be, congrats on the pending arrival of your little one!like me if your reading this you are probably trying to search for the best products and everything for your baby, i spent ages looking and decided on this breastpump because of the name and other reviews which were good. All i want to say is no one tells you that it totally depends upon your milk flow. I bought the electric one that you can also turn into manual thinking the electric would save time and i d have the best on the market but when it came down to it everyone is different and...
#Simple and comfortable (2009-06-13) It was hard to decide which to buy between the medela and this pump but I chose this in the end because it was cheaper. It doesn t take much time at all to get used to it and is very comfortable (especially with the rubber petal in the funnel). I have had mine for about a month now and use it about once a day, its helping to keep my milk going when my baby is either sick or fussy and doesn t eat much. There are lots of extra things that it comes with but as I already have bottles, I don t use that much of it. After a bit of practice I ve learnt ...
#genius product (2009-06-08) Wanted to leave a review as some of the others had mentioned that it was slow and difficult to put together. I personally think this is a fantastic product. It s very simple to take apart, wash and put together. It s also very easy to use and it will go as fast or as slow as you choose with the manual start - whoever invented this was a genius! I had difficulties letting down before - but now find it much easier as it feels more natural.
#avent newborn starter set (2009-04-11) ideal package for new baby and works out alot cheaper than if you bought everything seperatly.
#Leaky Bottle with Windy Spells (2008-11-30) I bought this starter kit for my newborn baby to give us everything we needed to feed our baby all in 1 kit (already have steriliser). We have since moved onto:- Tommee Tippee with Airvent Control- Dr BrownsBaby was happy enough using the bottle, however there were a few drawbacks that sent this bottle firmly to the bottom of class. 1. It was very hard to get the teat in place particularly when you are trying so hard not to contaminate the sterilised teat. 2. The bottle had a habit of leaking because it was so hard to get the teat in p...
#Excellent (2008-10-24) Just exactly what you need to get started, no need to say anything else! Oh, comes with a matching dummy, very useful!
Helping your baby breastfeed for longer. Variflo teats are popular because they allow babies to control the flow of their milk simply by using their own sucking strength. Now for teh first time and by public demand there s a Variflo Closer to Nature easi-vent teat, still with the great flex and stretch of the original award-winning teat but now available with a cross cut into the tip as well as a hole. So how does it work? Basically, the stronger the baby s sucking action the wider the cross opens and the faster the milk flows. It s a great teat for babies right from birth as baby is able to get as much or as little as he needs, while the easi-vent anti-colic feature on the teat s surfacereduces the risk of baby swallowing air with his feed, thought to be one of the main reasons for colic. So you don t have to worry about when to change flow rates as baby knows exactly what he s doing! Designed in conjunction with breast feeding experts, the revolutionary new Tommee Tipppee Closer to N...
#Brilliant for hungry babies! (2009-04-12) Our son is a big and hungry baby, and we didn t want to move him onto the Stage 2 teats too early. The vari-flow teat provided the perfect in-between solution. Now he s big enough for the next-size teat, we haven t had to replace them, and we ve saved a lot of money! He s a far more efficient feeder on the vari-flow teats, and this keeps him much happier. (He now gets through 8oz in about 15-20 minutes. )One thing: the teat is quite large. It was fine for our big, hungry baby, but smaller babies and newborns would struggle with it. I...
#Undecided opinion on this product (2009-03-12) I bought these teats for use with the Tommee Tippee fat style bottles. My nearly 6 week old feeds fine on the slow flow (number 1) teats but I found that she would get tired of sucking and fall asleep without finishing her feed. So I bought these Variflow teats because it s designed to allow babies to control the flow of milk using their sucking strength. She sucks fine however she can t swallow fast enough and ends up crying. I have changed back to the slow flow teats because of this. Even though this product is 0+ months onwards m...
#Well worth the money (2009-06-03) This pillow has been well used from day 1, when the babies were born. It s very firm and supports even the largest baby. I would recommend getting a second cover though, as you can guarantee it will get vomited on at some point!!
#there s just one niggle.. (2008-12-14) Firstly, this pillow is a godsend for breastfeeding, whether after a c-section or not. It supports baby and makes feeding much easier, once you get the hang of it all you can even feed hands-free. It s a firm pillow (some cheaper v-pillows are quite soft and so less supportive). It looks expensive, but when you re going to be using it for up to 12 hours a day (if your baby is like mine and fed for an hour each time every 2 hours as a newborn) it s worth every single penny. So what s the niggle? there s three small things:1. if you re of tradi...
