#Oscar Peterson s Trio Performance:One of the Best. (2003-07-02) This re-release by Verve preserves, in my opinion, one of the best trio performances. In the Still of the Night , Peterson s subtle single melody nuances and left hand chords are complimented by Ray Brown s wonderful bass. Ed Thigpen maintains the tempo with his stylish brush technique. The rest of the CD is hampered only slightly by the volme inconsistencies from one number to the next, created by the studio. This is a great CD.

#BUY IT EYES CLOSED (2003-05-31) OSCAR PETERSON s 1959 piano tribute to COLE PORTER is a joy even if it s only 33 minutes long. We could have take an another half hour of this music. What makes it so enjoyable is the variety of moods it delivers. There was actually another PORTER songbook recorded in mono,but for a reason i ignore,they did not coupled it with this one to make it last longer. A message to VERVE:did they lost the masters of the RICHARD RODGERS songbook,and if not,what are they waiting for?

#missing one of her best songs (2004-07-03) I have not heard this reissue as yet but i m sure it sounds wonderful. However, any CD that omits ",I ve got to have you", cannot be considered definitive. When that track appears on a ",greatest hits", reissue my wallet will open. Until then, this is another missed opportunity. It s about time that compilers asked for feedback/suggestions from music lovers before issuing compilations. After all, we are the customer & our views should count.

#Definitive... (2004-05-20) I believe the Carly Simon has a few greatest hits albums out there. This, however, seems to be the one to buy. The original recordings have been remastered to sound as good as they possibly can. The twenty tracks provide a comprehensive range of Carly s career - although I don t care for a few of the later songs. ALL of her greatest hits are here, so you will not need to buy another album to get one of her popular songs.

Hope they will come in Montreal soon. 4 good looking guys singing classical-pop songs is just incredible! Hope they will do their own stuff some day. #Love at first Sound (!) (2005-07-08) I heard ",Regresa A Mi", on the radio and loved the concept of opera singers performing pop , so I bought the album. I immediately fell in love with ",Passera", (although I don t understand a word), ",Everytime I look at you", and ",The man you love",. The music is great, the voices are velvet to the ears. A treat to your senses, really!

#Really good (2005-06-11) I had seen the CD advertised on TV which was the first I d ever heard of IL DIVO. I decided to try it since I like some of Josh Groban s songs. I really like this CD. Very relaxing music, great voices that sing together VERY well. I would definitely buy another of their CD s when they become available.
