#JOHN GREWAL ---awesome book and dvd movie (2008-10-26) It changed my life and changed Oprahas too . . . if it can do that then this book and the dvd movie is for everyone. I want everyone to get this book/dvd and study it to the fullest. You will love every minute of it and it will make you a better, stronger, more positive person. But at the end of the day it is only up to you to make changes with your life right . . . Do the right thing and start using the laws of attraction/the secret daily and you will feel so good about yourself that anything will seem possible. LuvJohn
#A Re-Packaged Secret. (2008-09-22) A movie first and then turned into a book, The Secret is about getting what you want by knowing what you want and keeping it at the forefront of your thoughts. It gets this concept across really well and is a quite entertaining book. The downside is that there is really nothing new here that hasn t already been published many times before, many decades ago (I m thinking of books like It Works). Thinking is great, but life also requires us to do a little too in order to make things happen- recommend The Sixty-Second Motivator for more info on that.
#There is no secret... (2008-09-08) The basic thesis of this book, and several spin-offs, is that your thoughts send out vibes that attract events of similar vibration. For instance, if you think prosperity thoughts you will be prosperous, thin thoughts, you ll be thin, etc. Of course, bad thoughts bring bad things into your life, and if something bad has happens to you, your thoughts are the reason. This is very appealing to a prosperous healthy individual, because they get to take full credit for their success. Interestingly, The Secret never mentions death. Perhaps because n...
#Didn t Finish It (2008-06-03) I read this book after many recommendations. The premise of the book is that we can use the power of attraction, through positive thought, to get what we want from life (e. g. a life partner, job, wealth). This book is a strong example of the current Western Individualism, focusing on our needs and desires. For those with more duty-based morals or a focus on our contribution to society, this book will likely be distasteful. I did not finish the book as I did not appreciate the self-centered and materialistic values promoted in it.
#Dig past the hype and find some wisdom (2008-05-09) There is a secret about The Secret. . . and that is this: Everything between the front and back cover is NOT a secret. For people nervous about reading it because you think it s some hyped-up mind control thing, rest easy. You re half right. The book WAS hyped up. Good marketing on their part. As an author, I know it s important to find a hook or edge. Media, including the internet, gave The Secret all of its hype. The title alone was genius! But when it comes down to it, the book is based on fact and experiences. I always he...

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change was a groundbreaker when it was first published in 1990, and it continues to be a business bestseller with more than 10 million copies sold. Stephen Covey, an internationally respected leadership authority, realizes that true success encompasses a balance of personal and professional effectiveness, so this book is a manual for performing better in both arenas. His anecdotes are as frequently from family situations as from business challenges. Before you can adopt the seven habits, you ll need to accomplish what Covey calls a paradigm shift--a change in perception and interpretation of how the world works. Covey takes you through this change, which affects how you perceive and act regarding productivity, time management, positive thinking, developing your proactive muscles (acting with initiative rather than reacting), and much more. This isn t a quick-tips-start-tomorrow kind of book. The concepts are someti...

#Not a Recommended Gift (2008-11-28) This book is outdated with white tower language. I would not recommend it for our workforce that is starting out. There are too many analogies that are disconnected from the actual concepts and lessons that we need to teach our workforce. Time is precious and if I have to go back and try to get the point, then I see no point in reading it. I would not recommend this as a gift.
#filled with important information (2007-12-02) Not that I m an expert in the subject, but I m guessing that this isn t your typical success book. In many ways it s a general purpose psychology book, dealing with such things as motivation, organizational skills, and how to deal with stress. It s chock full of seemingly unique information, and interesting quotes and tidbits. For example, it states Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success, leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall. The book isn t boring or repetitive, and is written i...
#A number of years (2007-11-03) I read this book a number of years ago as part of a semester long class with it as the main teaching tool. From what I remember it provides good insights into time management, prioritizing tasks and breaking down a goal into bite size pieces so that a person isn t overwhelmed by the size of what needs to be done.
#Mandatory reading (2006-12-06) This book should be mandatory study for everyone above the teen years. I have spent 3 years reviewing the principles off and on, and it has significantly changed my behavior and outlook. Covey draws on innate human traits of character, and shows how to use them to enrich your life. I can often tell when I have met a Covey student: they have an indescribable peace and glow about them. Warning: Do not just read this book once. You have to practice the principles and revisit the book to get maximum benefit. Ideal for a study group format.
#Exceptional, Life-changing and a Must have! (2006-07-09) I found the book incredibly useful in EVERY aspect of my life! It gives you tools (lists, diagrams, and organizer inserts) which are so useful and helpful in order to live a highly effective and rewarding life based on the strength of correct and time tested principles. Stephen Covey provides very personal examples of his effective growth change as well. I like authors who do what they preach! I am confident that other readers who follow Covey s advice will find their lives to be far more organized and satisfying. This excepti...

#A Vision for an Improved Way of Solving Problems (2006-07-15) Ever since Peter Drucker pointed out that the future performance of organizations in the developed world would be in the hands of knowledge workers, we ve been blessed with an understanding that the dominant economic focus can shift rapidly into new directions. Prior to that, the industrial age had lasted for over two centuries. The agricultural age that preceded it lasted several thousand years, and the hunter-gatherer age had lasted even longer. What is the conceptual age? It s a time when due to applying all of our brai...
#Globalization and Outsourcing are Our Reality (2006-04-07) As someone who was in an engineering and IT field, but not of it, I began to feel that there was hope for creatures like me. I understand technology, but my viewpoint tends to be a big picture viewpoint. Writing lines of code left half of me wanting something more and my fellow employees and managers irritated. Pink provides a clue as to the types of jobs that will no longer exist in the United States in the coming decades by asking three questions: Can someone overseas do it cheaper? Can a computer do it faster? Is what I m...
#Fascinating book! (2006-02-13) I found this book very enjoyable to read. It has a wealth of comprehensive research that supports the information. It opens your mind to the way the world shifts through the ages. Easy to read, with pictures to support the ideas and concepts. I would recommend this book to people of all professions.
#Read it in one flight (2005-06-18) This book is terrific. I read it on one flight from London to Washington. And I ended up with a to do list that I m sure will change how I behave, for the better.

Arguably the best book ever on what is increasingly becoming the science of persuasion. Whether you re a mere consumer or someone weaving the web of persuasion to urge others to buy or vote for your product, this is an essential book for understanding the psychological foundations of marketing. Recommended.

#If you market read it. (2008-02-14) And we all market. If not a product then ourselves. This is a well written book that holds the interest throughout. The volume of research behind it is huge and the ability to precis it so well deserves praise. A book to explore for marketing tips and for tips to avoid marketing traps. Best of all it is a good read.
#I used to be a people pleaser (2004-06-16) I used to agree with other people to avoid making waves. Because of this book, I understand why I was compliant and I am more truthful in my responses to others. This book really made me understand why I was persuaded to do things I didn t want to do. A book called Optimal Thinking: How To Be Your Best Self also made a huge impact on me. Optimal Thinking helped me to let go of what is out of my control, make the most of what is in my control and get the best results in every situation. So I recommend each of these books. Read them si...
#Great book which can help you a lot (2004-04-22) What I can say in simple words. . . Ono of the best books I have ever read. Cialdini is highly seasoned professional. Shilohalso fan of motivational book you can view at amazon. comThe Rainbow Butterfly(. . . )
#Excellent (2004-04-10) I picked this book up because somebody online recommended it, and the topic interested me. This has been one of the best books I ve ever bought. Dr. Cialdini told me things I already knew, just had never put any actual thought into. After having read most of the book I was able to apply the material into my life and I think it helped me from making a bad decision related to my higher education. I highly recommend everyone read this!
#A Classic - One of those Life-Changing Books (2004-03-24) I first was introduced to Cialdini s work during an ",Intro to Managerial Psychology", class in the early 90 s. I have found the concepts in this legendary book to be useful again and again in everything I do in business. His was the first book I read that had the perfect balance of ",down to earth", explanations with academic underpinnings, and a reasonable path to apply different topics.

This grandfather of all people-skills books was first published in 1937. It was an overnight hit, eventually selling 15 million copies. How to Win Friends and Influence People is just as useful today as it was when it was first published, because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people. He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie says you can make someone want to do what you want them to by seeing the situation from the other person s point of view and arousing in the other person an eager want. You learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, an...

#The greatest book about interpersonal relations (2008-04-20) Dale Carnegies How to Win Friends and Influence People has been a classic for decades, but it is still as fresh as when it first came out. Filled with knowledge, anecdotes and tips, it is suitable for anyone wishing to brighten up his own life and the lives of those around him. How to Win Friends and Influence People touches upon many subjects. As expected, Carnegie starts by giving some basic principles to keep in mind when dealing with other people. It the subsequent chapters, he then builds upon these statements by anal...
#Give it to your sons to remember you for ever (2007-12-01) This is a book to be read and practiced. This book makes you more human - in such a way you will find yourself gaining friends and keeping company with wonderful people. Treat this book like a treasured gift and share it with those you care for. It is a book that should be passed on to future generations. I was really surprised at how much this book matters and how much I learned by reading it. It is a book that keeps on giving, and yes some of the advice may be obvious, but it brings the correct way in which to interact wi...
#It won me over. (2007-10-13) A classic (originally published in the 30 s) and a must-have, this timeless piece of work can help just about anybody get along better with others and win them over to their way of thinking. Don t have a lot of time to spare? Don t worry. The book is divided into short sections, each one devoted to a particular principle that is well illustrated with many practical examples. In this way, you can read a chapter quickly, stop and do other things you have to do if necessary, and get back to the book when you have time- all without losing continuity. Thorou...
#classic! (2007-09-09) This book is classic! I enjoyed every minute of it!Another bestseller that I love and recommend to all omen - How to be a Super Hot Woman: 339 Tips to Make Every Man Fall in Love with You and Every Woman Envy Youby Mandy Simons
#AN OLD STANDARD THAT WORKS (2007-09-01) This old book still stands up to the dictums of modern society for the most part. There are several chapters that are dated, however, and for that reason I don t think it s as good of a primer as it once was. The basic principles are sound. Work hard, get along with others, keep your nose to the grindstone and it will all work out. The formula for success is so simple, it mtakes one wonder why everybody can t follow it? Re-reading How To Win Friends and Influence People reminded me of how funny the parody is, Martha Bolton s Maybe Life s Jus...
