#Stunning Presentation (2008-11-21) This will be my first purchase of a book by Lawson. You can t help but get caught up in the sheer gorgeousness of the recipes and her irreverent commentary. However, this book is going for under Cdn. $20 on the U. K. website. . . Come on Amazon Canada. . . let s be competitive, shall we?

#Easy to Use and Trustworthy (2008-10-29) Every recipe I have tried from this book has met with amazing reviews from family and friends. I love Jamie s easygoing style, and yet he teaches you to be very attentive to details. He rings some very interesting changes, putting some unexpected ingredients in here and there, but never does he make it hard for the cook. In fact, several of the most delicious recipes took me only 30 minutes from start to finish! This book spends a lot of its time on my kitchen table, set to inspire me to try something new. It s a real keeper!
#Freaking Awesome!! (2008-07-24) Not only does this book have incredibly tasty and easy to make recipes, it has sparked a passion for cooking in my husband and I couldn t be a happier wife! ,)
#Extremely useful for all level of cooking know-how (2008-02-14) Apart from knowing that the proceeds from the purchase of this book (and some of his others) go towards his various charities, it s so worthwhile owning. I am a trained pastry cook and have been cooking and experimenting with food for years. I find this book to be invaluable from his simple salad dressings to the more advanced dishes. My brother loves to cook but lacks the knowledge, so I got him this book for his birthday, because he had already seen mine. He was thrilled and has mastered the art of fresh pasta makin...
#Great! (2008-01-08) Most of the recipes in here (with the exception of anything with blood sausage)are excellent. Jamie does a great job of combining his passion for food with straightforward non-fussy recipes that will please most palates. This book is a must for any cookbook collection and his recipes will be used time and time again.
#Don t really know much about cooking? If you truely want to be a better cook you need this book. (2007-12-02) You have seen the cooking shows, you ve tried the recipes. . . and sometimes they turn out but never look as good as they did on TV. This book covers every aspect of cooking a beginner to intermediate (if not more) would benefit from learning about. It takes all of the basics like beef, pasta, risotto, seafood, vegetables, etc. and really breaks down what the product you are working with IS and what it DOES and WHY you are doing what you are doing at each step. It also tea...

#Good Recipes, Too Much Gardening (2008-10-29) I loved Oliver s previous book, Cook With Jamie, and so I rushed to buy this one, expecting more of the same. I was disappointed, though, to find that much of the book is devoted to lessons in gardening and pages of (admittedly, beautiful) vegetables in and out of the garden. I have gardened for years, and none of the gardening information is new or useful to me, and I resent having paid for it. I guess I should have previewed the book, but in my enthusiasm I felt I knew what I would be getting. That said, the recipes are arranged a...
#Jamie s most useful book (2008-03-07) Obviously, this is the book tie-in with the Jamie at Home series seen in the UK on Channel 4 and on the Food Network in North America. And for a tie-in, it s actually pretty good. It s certainly a much better read than his previous Cook with Jamie, mainly because with this one he s made a better attempt at identifying his audience. Jamie, it s obvious, is enthusiastic about his cooking, and he expects his readers to have the same enthusiasm (and therefore the same knowledge) that he does. This is something that was missing from his previous ...

#Quintessential Rachael (2008-11-07) If you watch Ray s show or have other cookbooks by the author, and you looked through Rachael Ray s Big Orange Book without glancing at the cover, you would immediately know it was hers. To begin with, it s loaded with her unique language--EVOO (extra virgin olive oil,) sammies (sandwiches,) and more. The largest section of the book is comprised of Ray s famous 30 minute meals. This section is broken down to soups & sammies, pasta, chicken, beef, ham & pork and fish. Ever since my husband got back from a business trip in California and told me abou...
