#Packed With Knowledge! (2004-06-08) This is a very lucid, practical introduction to the principles of value investing. It is detached, relatively objective considering the authors bias in favor of the subject, doesn t hype or hard-sell and, on the whole, would be a valuable addition to any investor s bookshelf. If you re a relative beginner, your shelf will also need to include a dictionary of financial terms - the authors assume you already know the vocabulary. And who is the Graham cited in the title? He is Benjamin Graham, who all but invented security analysis. With coauthor D...
#Turkey and Where is the Beef? (2003-12-29) There is simply not enough value in this book to justify using it. I m sorry but words like Alta Vista and Cisco just should not appear anywhere in a value investing book. Period and discussion over. At least not up to the present. Maybe in the future but I doubt it. Also there is way too much verbage to describe much of nothing. The modern budding value investor would be better served by other book including Security Analysis by Graham. A lot of detail is missing here and much of the analysis leaves one wondering if the autho...
#Good book about value investing (2003-10-31) The values are out there, it is just a matter of finding them and knowing what to look for. This book has many ideas about how to find the values. I was somewhat disappointed in some of the math since I found some errors, for example on pg 139 of my edition, the formula for PV contains an error. The Earnings Power Value seems to be useful for some situations, but not in all cases --- I think that point is covered in the book, yet so much time is devoted to EPV. Even with some rough spots, this book will indeed help me in my investing ...

#Serves as Both a Great Primer & Also a Great Idea Generator (2002-03-04) Ben Graham may have done for investing what Euclid did for geometry, but the Graham student must take a long and winding road to collect and organize Grahamian theorems. Greenwald modernizes and thoughtfully organizes the value framework originally expounded by Graham, and shows how investors might take -and in the final section of the book, how several master investors DO take- Graham s notion of buying dollar bills for fifty cents and apply this central idea in creative ways to some of the less frequented area...

In The Automatic Millionaire, author David Bach appeals to cash-strapped and time-starved readers with a simple plan for money management that can change their financial destiny. The author of bestsellers Smart Couples Finish Rich and Smart Women Finish Rich argues that individuals can build wealth through a few simple steps that take the guesswork and discipline out of financial management. Bach uses a conversational tone and the story of a low-level manager married to a beautician to illustrate his thesis that you don t have to make a lot of money to retire rich. The book s guiding principle is pay yourself first. By having money whisked out of sight by your employer or financial institution before you have a chance to spend it, you can save enough over the long haul to retire rich, Bach advises. Make your financial plan automatic and one of the most powerful things you will get out of it is worry-free time--which ultimately means getting back more of your life. To find the extra cas...

#Great while missing a few things (2010-05-25) I noticed that a lot of people criticized this book in their reviews because of the lack of formulas, tables and significant examples sometimes, and I too felt that David Bach could have added some, but this book is still a great one. I think the basic idea behind the book is not to overwhelm the readers with numbers, graphs and tables like some other books but to show you how you can build wealth and succeed in life following a few basic steps and a proven general approach towards money. If you want to be picky with number crunching grab a...
#A Good Read, Take In With A Grain Of Salt (2009-12-27) A good book for the novice. Be forewarned that the book is overly optimistic in its predictions, that is, that you can expect to earn 10%/yr in the capital markets.
#Common Sense (2009-06-19) This is mostly just financial common sense, but for those who live the paycheck to paycheck, rent an apartment, eat out every meal, and finance everything on credit cards that are $1000 s of dollars over the limit type lifestyle, then they should read it. . . it s pretty short at approx 200 pgs, plus there s lots of charts & diagrams, so you can practically read the whole thing in a sitting or two. His main message is basically be disciplined, live within your means, and pay yourself first (i. e. homeownership & RRSP s). The most interesting parts are wher...
#Automatic Millionaire (2009-02-24) This is a great Book, I m sure you and me will become a Millionaire very soon, when you read this book and share it with your friends.
#so easy, so few of us will apply it (2008-01-14) Great for beginner. No miracle solution, only the basic, save 10% of your money, invest in RRSP, time is your friend (compound interest). But if it s so easy, why aren t we all doing it. Love it. Very easy to read also

#Moving Internal Services to a Market Economy (2001-09-21) Moving Internal Services from Soviet-Style Monopoly to a Market SystemThis book is an excellent introduction to the implementation of shared services by people with lots of pragmatic experience. It s required reading at my company. If you are just starting out, it provides a good map of what shared services are and how to go about implementing. If you have done it, it might remind you of the original vision. Also, the book is well written, making it easy and enjoyable to read--which means that I actually read it instead of l...
