#GREAT Thing (2010-09-02) I had a plastic one, and I brought it to my office. I bought this for my home, and I love it. It is a little bit more expensive than my old one, but it works great, looks great. I just love it. If you are considering an electrical kettle, it is the one you should choose.

#Aroma awk- nice quality (2010-08-29) I was so happy with this that I wanted to let people know. I love that it is so simple, that it turns off automatically, and that the kettle detaches from the base. However, the metal does get very hot, just like a stovetop kettle would, so common sense precautions are needed. Also, it is not quite as fast as my mother s alternate model, but I would rather avoid the health risks of toxins getting out from heated plastic, so I ll stick with stainless steel. I received this kettle as a birthday gift, and I have used it nearly every day since then! I can t believe that I waited so long to use a product like this- it is so much easier and faster than boiling water on the stove! I haven t noticed any bad odors or tastes. The product is sturdy and it doesn t take up too much room.

#great kettle, very pleased with it (2010-08-29) I have been looking for a way to make relatively large quantities of tea in something made of stainless steel (I am afraid of plastic/BPA/etc these days) and have been considering buying a samovar. A samovar, though, is rather expensive, and I decided to give this kettle a try. I am absolutely impressed with how fast it boils water (much faster than a microwave oven), and how long it maintains it warm after switiching off even though it is metallic. Tea making is now a breeze, the tea tastes excellent, the kettle is very convenient to use, I am giving it 5 stars, the concept/design is excellent, although I am not sure how long it will last (made in you-know-where, the place with huge reliability problems).

#Probably the best coffee maker going (2010-09-03) When my 14 year old Braun coffee maker finally bit the dust, I shopped and shopped to find a suitable replacement and finally settled on the Cuisinart. Overall I really like this machine, but there are a few things that I definitely preferred on the old Braun, which is no longer made. . . I would have bought that same model if I could have. Any product that is used every day and lasts 14 years is pretty impressive to me. The pros:Adjustable heat setting. This is nice for those who use cream in their coffee since you can set it to be hot enough so that even after you add cream to your coffee, you still get a good hot cup. If you drink it back, you can dial the heat back a bit so it s not lava hot on that first sip. Styling - it looks nice sitting on the counter. Excellent carafe - the carafe pours PERFECTLY. . . not a single drip, ever. I also like the plastic rim around the top which offers a little protection from breaking. Adjustable auto shut off timer. The default is two hours, but you can adjust it up to four. The cons:As many other reviewers have noted, it is a bit of a pain to pour water into. It s not that bad, but no doubt you need to watch what you re doing or you ll end up pouring water all over the counter instead of into the machine. I haven t missed yet, so I d call this just a minor annoyance. Plus, the fact that the carafe pours so nicely makes it a little easier to hit the small opening when pouring water in. Slow brew time - the good old Braun was a lot faster at making a pot. I would say this one might take up to twice as long (just a gut feel since I can t actually time it out against the dead Braun). Carafe lid - the lid is hard to get on and off. I have worked out a technique to be able to do it fairly easily, but it does not just easily snap into place nor does it come off very easily. Based on reviews I read about countless other machines, I do think this one might be the best one out there. It s not quite perfect, but it is very good. Oh, and it does brew a great cup of coffee!

#Great coffee maker for the money! (2010-08-31) When my Black & Decker coffee maker just quit working one morning (grrr), I quickly began the search for its replacement. After reading all the reviews of this and other coffee makers, it seemed that this was a good choice for a basic coffee maker, and I am definitely not disappointed. It definitely makes a better tasting cup than my old one, and is super easy to clean, pot goes in the dishwasher, and the filter basket pulls out easily. Looks really sharp, too!The one thing that stands out, however, is that the pot does not drip at all when you pour a cup of coffee! The coffee pot engineers have finally gotten it right!!!

#The BEST! (2010-09-03) I purchased this product to groom my short haired chihuahua and I LOVE it. . . so does she. We ve tried different brushes, coarse bristles, softer bristles. . . and even other deshedding tools. NONE of them compare to the FURminator deLuxe. This thing rocks. My dog enjoys being brushed and sits still for the whole process. . . she hates when it s over. The best feature is that the hair is collected in the in the head of the tool and with a simple press of the button it is easily ejected. No more struggling to clean out bristles or hair flying everywhere. It really is a must have!

#Not for all pets (2010-08-31) This thing works GREAT on my roommates dogs, but not on my beagle/pit mix. One of their dogs is a long haired dog, and the other short, like my pup, but he has an undercoat so it actually pulls out his hair. I guess it was one of those hit and miss things, but I wish I would have known that there was a chance it wouldn t work BEFORE I dropped the money on it. Also, the FURejector kind of sticks (the button is really short) and it s not ergonomic if the dog isn t facing the right direction. One last thing: I ve heard that it actually cuts the hair and that s why it s so effective (not a good thing if you like to obsessively brush), but I haven t researched this. I have yet to find something that curbs my dog s shedding hair. . .

#Wow!!!! (2010-08-30) This has to be hands down the best grooming tool ever! As soon as I tested this baby out on my english bulldog, I threw out our conventional brush. Definetely worth every penny! #Saved Our Cat s Fur! (2010-08-30) I bought this furminator tool with the intent of untangling my outdoor cat s fur. He had knots all in his fur from rolling on the ground. I, of course, cut out most of the knots, then combed him through with the furminator tool. He is the BEST looking cat in the neighborhood now and loves the attention! I also LOVE the furejector tool, which ejects the fur quickly so you can keep combing your pet. I highly recommend this tool for grooming your pet.

#Rush - Phase 1 - CARESS OF STEEL (2010-07-06) This is the third album in the first phase of Rush. This is also the first album that sees the longer epics begin to emerge. Like By-Tor from the previous album, CARESS contains longer than average radio play songs, with one clocking in at 12 minutes and the other at 20. BASTILLE DAY - Again, Rush starts off this album with an absolutely crushing rock tune, and again this is still played live by the band. The 70 s sound Rush is back with a vengeance, and they show that they are going no where, though the record companies at the time did not understand the band and they were thinking of dropping this band from their label. I THINK I M GOING BALD - this is the song that Rush used as a response to Kiss Goin Blind. this is more of a fun song for Rush, and anyone who has seen an interview of the band knows that they never take themselves too serious and this is a prime example of just fun rock n roll from Rush. LAKESIDE PARK - Another classic Rush tune, even though it is one that Geddy does not care for much. This is a very bouncy and happy Rush song, before the two Epic tales begin to finish out the album. THE NECROMANCER - The second story of By-Tor, and this first Epic track on this album. This also bears some roots in Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings trilogy, in that the Necromancer was a character type from the trilogy. The song starts with Into Darkness and flange chords on the left and reverse volume swells from the right as Geddy and Neil hold the groove. Under the Shadow picks up the pace and has music hits as Geddy wails within the spaces. Return of the Prince rounds out this trilogy, as the Lord of the Rings. This is also a return to classic Rush grooves with a mid paced ending to the tale, the end of the story and the outro solo from Alex. THE FOUNTAIN OF LAMNETH - The end of this album starts with acoustic guitar a Geddy s soft singing on In the Valley for the first minute before the whole band kicks in with the rock groove and Geddy s trade-mark wail. Didacts and Nerpets is the drum solo, with Geddy vocals and band hits. kind of a funky little section. No one at the Bridge is very ballad-like and Pink Floyd sounding section, with Geddy Banshee vocals and a great Alex guitar solo. Panacea an acoustic ballad with clean guitar doubling in the right channel. This is a very beautiful cut from this track. Bacchus Plateau Rush is back in gear with this straight ahead rock groove. The Fountain this song revisits the themes and melodies from earlier, and bring this song as well as the album it s finally notes. All in all, this is a fun album, and this is a great prequel to the classic and epic 2112.

#By far, my favorite ! (2010-06-26) This album has always been close to my heart. There are so many flavors to choose from and it s an album where you truly feel that Rush really created it for themselves rather than trying to create an album for mass consumption. Some of the pieces are without a doubt, Beautiful. PANACEA for example is a breath taking song of love from the perspective of someone who really knows what love is about - no fluff, no i love you forever, just what seems an honest feeling about where someone is. . . No candy or sugar coating. . . A feel story of feeling. . . Excellent!I THINKING GOING BALD. . . Wow! What a flavorful track - even my father who was born in 1943 took to this masterful piece about growing old - growing old in the hippest way :)Speaking of 1943, there s BACCHUS PLATEAU and that cask of 43 . What a wonderful uplifting piece of art this track is!As you can probably imagine, I can go on and on about this album. Speaking of, I have the album - and the cassete - and the CD - and am going to nab a remastered version. Yeah for me, it s that good and worth my effort. OK, my only gripe is what was side 2 of the album, THE FOUNTAIN OF LAMNETH where the CD combines what to me is 6 distinct tracks. Sure I understand conceptually, all 6 are part of a concept. It s just that having grown up on the album and cassette, that technology wasn t mature enough to keep all the movements in one package. No matter though. . . I rip the CD into a WAV file then parse the tracks individually! Yes, not really what Rush intended and perhaps I am doing a disservice to the band and their work but at times, I really want to hear NO ONE AT THE BRIDGE !!!!!Anyway, as you can tell, no real issue with the quality of the work and I still hold true that this album is a masterpiece and yes, by far, my favorite! :)

#A Great RUSH Album! (2010-05-17) This is a great album. It starts you rocking and end up going on a weird fantasy adventure. I bought this as a kid of 12, liked it then and probably like it as much or more now. I think it s even better than 2112. I m a musician for 25 years and studied classical guitar. If you re into Rush s early sound like up through hemispheres this is a really cool transition from the more raw rocking sounds to the more experimental and processed sounds. I like what people on here are calling raw sounding. I prefer the natural tones of the instruments.

#A Pocket Full of Silver, or the Key to Heavens Door? (2010-04-07) Rush s third album Caress of Steel is a more progressive offering than Fly By Night but the still maturing Rush has yet to find their niche later discovered in 2112. I feel this album has a lot of great Rush tunes and some moments of greatness, but I feel the general lack of direction in the album is its main flaw. This album features 5 tracks. Four on what would have been Side one in the vinyl days, and the final track which would take up the entire space on Side two. Track 1: Bastille Day: This is a hard rocking progressive opener with some pounding great drums, rocking bass, and some good guitar work. I think Geddy s voice is really good here. Overall this is one of the strongest songs on the album. 10/10Track 2: I Think I m Going Bald: This song is reminiscent of Rush Self-Titled and contains a slower but rocking melody and a bluesy guitar solo. Everybody can pretty much understand the general message of the song and reflect on getting older but still in a comedic sort of way. Overall a pretty good song. 8/10Track 3: Lakeside Park: This song is a slower number with a memorable chorus and some interesting drumming and shimmery almost guitar work. This song kind of makes you reflect on your own childhood as it describes Neil s job working at Lakeside Park in Canada and reflecting on his time there. Drinking by the lighthouse, smoking on the pier, just kind of sends the message of reflecting on memories and times past. Though it s just a memory, some memories last forever. 10/10Track 4: The Necromancer: This song is a four or five parts piece about 3 warriors who have to travel and face a being known as a Necromancer than strips people of their emotion. It is one of the few Rush songs that I know of to contain narration of the story. The song begins with a slow driving bluesy melody with driving bass and reversed distorted guitar and eventually breaks down into one of my favorite parts of the album. The odd time signature of their confrontation and capture by the necromancer and Alex s excellent solo is one of the best parts of the album and for the time period the music was made, really ahead of its time. The song ends happily as the Necromancer is defeated and some majestic victory music is played. 10/10Track 5: The Fountain of Lamneth: This side sprawling epic is the reason personally that this album is not a five star. It has interesting moments but overall lacks general direction. The beginning is slow but works up to a memorable riff and then a strange drum solo which feel totally out of place. Next the song continues slowly again and finally goes back to the first two parts again. Overall it has an interesting solo and some good parts but it is definitely my least favorite Rush epic and the worst song on the album. And since this song takes up half of the album it definitely makes the album lose points. 5/10Caress of Steel is a good album with a lot of hard hitting tunes despite some lesser than interesting parts. I highly suggest purchasing it as a fan of music in general and especially a fan of Rush.

#rubber hits the road again for priest (2010-08-24) bought for the dvd, wasnt disapointed. a little quiet for me, ran it on(pc) VLC free media player, at 200% volume, with the equalizer, much better for my headphones. also using 40 hdtv as monitor, VLC is pretty good, overall. blu-ray would be better. stripped down stage, right in yer face with rapid fire , Priest never sounded better. and never stops. the deeper tunes are my favorite too see, roots of power metal, performed flawlessly. is it too early to celebrate the release of painkiller? i want painkiller end to end live.

#The mighty Priest is still alive (2010-08-19) I saw Priest on this tour just a few days before this video and cd was filmed and they were fantastic. I was excited to have that concert on cd and on video and I am not disappointed. Although the cd is still British Steel, just remastered, with one extra live song, the dvd is beautiful. This band keeps getting better in my mind and I love hearing British Steel songs live that I have not heard live before in 30 years of listening to this band. For the price, this CD and DVD is a great item and will provide great enjoyment when you just need a little JP in the car and on the TV at home.

#BRITISH STEEL LIVE on DVD. (2010-08-10) The remastered CD sounds good, but I ve heard it before. The LIVE concert DVD, disc two, is what I was looking for, and is everything that you would expect it to be. An awesome performance, of the British Steel material, plus a few additional songs as well. I saw the show last Summer, in Chicago, but the video had a better light show.

#British Steel: 30th Anniversary. (2010-07-23) What more can I say that hasn t already been said about this kick-ass, iconic, piece of music history? Judas Priest, British Steel! That is all that needs to be said.

More than merely a headbanger s take on A Star Is Born, Rock Star is, like all great Hollywood middlebrow fare, actually inspired by a true story: the saga of an Ohio salesman/Judas Priest tribute band vocalist who one day found himself taking Rob Halford s place in the spotlight. But whether its music is big-hair throwback or merely ahead-of-the-curve 80s retro-hip is hardly a matter that will cause quantum theorists sleepless nights. Not surprisingly, the film s soundtrack sounds both distinctly virtual and marketing-department honed: a mix of modern rockers (Everclear s hard-pop title track, the Verve Pipe s Colorful) and 80s vets (Bon Jovi s genre-defining Livin on a Prayer). Steel Dragon, the film s fictional headliners, feature era vets Jason Bonham on drums, Zakk Wylde on guitar, and vocalist Jeff Scott Soto giving star Mark Wahlberg something to lip-synch. They re-create a frighteningly credible faux- 80s pop-metal ethos that ranges from the big-ballad Bon Jovi-isms of We All Die Young to the pounding, metallic Priest-cloning of Livin the Life and Blood Pollution, and the anthemic Long Live Rock and Roll, the latter in a ham-fisted performance that begs to be subtitled (But Please Retire Soon). #Cool music (2010-04-27) Half of the music on this CD you can find elsewhere, the other half is music by the fictional band Steel Dragon. Fictional or not, Zakk, Jeff, Jason and a host of others did create some nice new music here. I-Tunes never carried it, so I m glad I came here to purchase it.

(2010-06-04) i love this video. i have it on VHS. but i want to get it on dvd. will have to look for it elsewhere because i don t see it here on amazon. it really works. it totally targets your glutes. i mean really targets them. it hurts so good! yea so this tape has outdated leg warmers and head bands! who cares? it gets the job done. after you do it for 2 weeks, people will notice you coming and watch you going. the guy has some really cheesy lines but i ve grown to laugh at them, especially the line about squeezing all the cheeseburgers out of your workout! get this tape if you want to slim your thighs and tone your booty!

#Terrific Workout! (2010-05-23) I purchased The Original Buns of Steel this past week directly from Greg Smithey s website, and I was really impressed with how fast I got it. I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived Saturday! Like others have said, the workout is hard to get through if it s your first time doing it. I had to stop periodically until my muscles recovered a bit and then I jumped back in again. Overall, the workout is very good! It s all floor work, which is ideal, and I feel it s more affective than the squats other videos have you do. The workouts in this video are ones you can actually FEEL working. I ll update this a few weeks from now to let everyone know of my progress. 6/1/2010:I took my measurements this morning and since incorporating this DVD into my work-out, I ve lost an inch off my waist and an inch from my hips. I ve also lost a few pounds. I d say this is a very effective DVD that s well worth the money.

#Still a GREAT workout (2010-04-21) I am a group ex instructor and I taught for Greg at the Hip Hop Club in Alaska!! I was there the day they shot the video. . Those were my friends and I LOVED them all!!!. . YES. . . It was 1987. . . . THE clothes were horrible and yes. . . HE did have a curl, but who cares. If you took the SAME exercises today and did them in class, which I sometimes do, you will see that they are effective and they are hard. Now that we are all so much more educated and we have core training and sport specific training etc. . . . sometimes getting back to the basics of lots and lots of reps and different angles is a REFRESHING change! They waited for years to review it and raked it over the coals and I thought it was very unfair, and yet today it s STILL a favorite. . . . Get over the clothes and the hair and the music and get a great workout. . . . LOL!!:)Have fun!!

#The most effective lower body workout out there. (2010-04-08) This is the best buns of steel out there. When I was in excellent shape in college, this was the only video that could make my legs and glutes burn. The other reason I love this video is that it s predominantly mat based. I have bad knees, so I have to avoid squats, lunges, etc. Most of the videos today (outside of pilates) focus on squats/lunges, so I can t do them. Admittedly, the 80s fashion and music is over the top. Hopefully, the ridiculousness of it will add humor to your workout and help you get through it.

This is such a great targeted exercise routine it is well worth your purchase and time spent actually doing the exercises in the routine. #AWESOME! (2008-05-09) I LOVE this video and need to do it more often! My problem now is I have 2 little boys and when I get on the floor to do it, they want to get on top of me. BUT, if you don t have that problem this is for you. It has different levels of excercises, so there is something for the new ab excerciser and those with strong abs already. If your just getting started, workout 1 is the easiest and best for you, but don t be surprised if you can t get through the whole 10 minutes- it s hard, but you will see a significant increase in how much you can do within a week. She is great about reminding you to keep your lower back on the floor and doing the excercises correctly.

#A Classic (2008-01-03) I had this tape when it first came out and I wore it out. So I bought another. I didn t expect much for about $2 but I got what I wanted. When it comes to working abs, there just aren t any really valid tricks. All the newer ab workout tapes seem so gimmicky to me. This tape is perfect for following a basic 15 minute ab workout everyday. It just doesn t get any better.

(2007-06-20) It took me awhile to get the hang of doing crunches - something about knowing when to breathe and keeping my chin up and focusing the effort on my abs just didn t set in at first. I wish it were on DVD, and I m not sure why they wouldn t put it out there. This is a really solid video and I agree that there s no need to buy anything newer. Although Buns of Steel is pretty hilarious.

I have her first two abdominal exercise tapes, ABS OF STEEL and ABS OF STEEL, PART TWO. ABS OF STEEL, the topic of this review, will ease you into daily ab workouts and improve both your health and appearance. Tamilee Webb succeeds with ABS OF STEEL because she does not make you feel lazy or out of shape if you can t keep up with her. Tamilee starts with a short warm-up/stretch session to get your blood flowing and muscles ready. Then Tamilee performs the ABS OF STEEL exercise routines in three ten-minute segments. You can do one a day but if ready for more, do a second or even all three, two options I sometimes, tee-hee, exercise. Tamilee Webb varies the difficulty in the three ABS OF STEEL segments. Either she does this purposely or it s a helpful matter of fate, because if you find one or two of the segments too challenging, you can still do the other(s). FYI, the second ABS OF STEEL segment will work you the hardest, the third segment is next most challenging, and the first segment the easiest. But as you work out with ABS OF STEEL, you will note Tamilee reminds you to take a break if you have a difficult time keeping up. Speaking of what she may or may not be doing on purpose, Tamilee Webb wears cheeky French cut workout shorts throughout ABS OF STEEL. In the warm-up segment, the shorts shows off a good amount of her big beautiful bottom when she rests on her stomach and also as she pulls her knees to her chest. But(t) it gets real interesting in the third and especially the first ab workout segments, where we see several close-ups of Tamilee s bulbous behind. Maybe Tamilee doesn t know what she s doing, or she doesn t know what the male director and camera operators are doing! Not that I fault Tamilee Webb for not hiding how attractive she is. At the end of the second workout segment, Tamilee even bounces her ample bosoms and lets out a breathy sigh far sexier than one would expect for an exercise instructor. It is unfortunate that the ABS OF STEEL producers don t value you as much as Tamilee Webb does. Tamilee puts her heart and soul (as well as some other parts of her, as I previously mentioned) into teaching and encouraging you but the budget guys issued the video tape in the cheap, low-quality SLP speed, which means poor sound quality and an image that could be sharper. And God forbid they spend a few extra dollars editing. ABS OF STEEL seems to be a live shoot. They let Tamilee Webb s mistakes (mostly verbal miscues) fly instead of fixing them with edits or overdubs. Also, at the end of the first exercise routine Tamilee unwittingly continues working when she should instead finish but rather than re-shoot for ten seconds, the ABS OF STEEL producers abruptly cut to Tamilee in a different pose, where she concludes the segment. The title of this tape is ABS OF STEEL, the boss is pinching pennies of copper. Tamilee Webb deserves better.

#Angus needs to be on DVD (2009-06-20) Angus is one of 5 total VHS tapes I still have- having replaced everything else except some very obscure christmas cartoons. (2009-04-06) Angus is my family s favourite movie especially my mother who always enjoy watching movies about outcasts or underdogs overcoming the odds and finally triumphant and becoming successful. I love the movie and the music as well so definitely i already own the soundtrack CD but why is the movie not released on DVD? Based on the other reviews here, i found out that Angus has a lot of fans and i m sure everyone are waiting eagerly to buy the movie on DVD. #A boring, badly made patriarchal melodrama (2010-07-16) This poorly made, boring flick is nothing if not profoundly patriarchal. The main story line revolves around a young woman who is willing to risk her life and die in order to produce a baby. Because the central goal of a woman s life is to make babies. Unless you can fulfill this goal, you are incomplete. So of course, the only reasonable thing to do is for a woman literally to kill herself in an attempt to produce a baby. There are many other female characters who are mainly dedicated to endless hen-like clucking around the protagonist s attempts to have a baby, as well as interminable conversations about hair-styles, weddings, husbands, etc. In Steel Magnolias, we see women of all generations inhabiting a world of their own. It s a world of babies, beauty, and homemaking. It s a world of things that the patriarchal societies always mark as exclusively female. Men are supposed to be detached from these womanly interests and concerns, while women have no interest in the pursuits of men. The view of genders as profoundly divided by an unbridgeable chasm of difference is patriarchal. Why this film has been hailed as a feminist classic and has become a perennial staple of Feminist Film courses is beyond me.

#Well Worth Watching. (2010-06-13) I remember that when Steel Magnolias first came out it was highly acclaimed and Academy Award talk was heard everywhere, but I never saw the movie. Thus it was that my wife and I were browsing the low price DVD rack and happened to stumble upon it. Always enjoying a good late-night movie, we picked it up and watched it last night. It was excellent. Steel Magnolias is built around the lives and friendships of six women in the Bayou country of Louisiana. It s a beautiful setting and the filming is excellent. The story unfolds at a glacial pace and you gradually feel that you are a part of the women s lives. Then a slowly developing crisis overtakes two of the women and, of course, involves everyone else deeply. Be sure you have a handkerchief or two within east reach as it becomes a very sad movie. And then resolution and life goes on. Parts of the movie are light and funny, but then the story draws you into deep sorrow. My wife thought it was very depressing. Me, I rolled with it with only the loss of a few tears now and then. In any case, the acting was excellent and was rewarded with a number of Academy Award nominations. It s a very well-worth-watching movie. Gary Peterson

#Wonderful (2010-07-11) I have loved the Samantha Morton/Ciarian Hinds version for 10 years, but I ve found a new favorite. Yes, Mr. Rochester is way too sexy, but who cares? This version includes so much more detail and romance than any other I ve seen.

#This is the best version of Jane Eyre I have ever seen. (2010-06-20) This version hit all the important plot elements of Jane Erye. They embellish a little here and there (as any movie would), but it doesn t matter because the characters of Jane and Mr. Rochester are so on point that when I re-read this book, I will envision Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyre as Toby Stephens and Ruby Wilson. What thrilled me was how well they highlighted how far Mr. Rochester went out of his way to make Jane fall in love with him, which was so important to me. I was very impressed, as I have seen two not-so-stellar movie adaptations (actually they were awful). I realize that the movie would have to be this long to hit all the important points in the book, but it is totally worth the watch and I have a feeling I will be watching this movie over and over again. I love this story, and to finally see it come to life as it did (even the part with St. John) so beautifully and on point was actually wonderful. But what this version did so well that I haven t really seen in others was show how often Mr. Rochester dropped hints and played games with Jane s mind up until the proposal, as he had been seducing her ever since she arrived at Thornfield. He was very flirtatious with her in the book and justly so in the movie. Mrs. Fairfax was not lying when she said that he treated her like a little pet of his, that was obvious even when Blanche was there (and I wouldn t have been surprised if she picked up on it as well). My favorite scene was when Jane told him she was going to see her aunt, and the money debate began. In the book it doesn t happen in front of Blanche, but they definitely caught the lightheartedness of the matter and how happy he got around Jane (just as he did in the book). That was never in doubt in my interpretation of the book, but other movies seem to make it less obvious than it actually was. So this was a great version of the book. Note. . . I was so afraid that they had left the most important/my favorite part of the book out of the movie: the part after Jane discovers the secret but before she leaves Thornfield (the most passionate confrontation between the two main characters). I loved that part to death in the book, so I was almost highly disappointed. However, they don t leave it out. . . they just flashback to it and change it considerably (less conversation and much more kissing than in the novel), but they did it in a way that mimicked the passion of that scene, so I was satisfied. That s because the movie nicely morphed that passion into the bedroom scene after the near-wedding, I was satisfied (and awed). It worked even though I am surprised it did, I think that s because it did show Mr. Rochester s masculine intensity mixed with pain and Jane s weakness belying her strength. A different interpretation, but same passion. Like in one review I read, if there had been another four episodes, then they would have to be Mr. Rochester begging and seducing Jane to stay with him (as he did for forever in the book). This movie did a brilliant job of catching the passion of Mr. Rochester in ways that the other versions I have seen did not. Upon re-read of the book, you could see from the beginning that Mr. Rochester was completely falling head-over-heels in love with the woman and was setting her up big time, whereas in other movies he is so stone cold and callous and practically insanely brutal that he is so off-putting (which is not the vibe I got from him in the book at all). I got the right vibe of tortured and passion from Mr. Rochester in this movie, so I was very pleased. And Toby Stephens was wonderful. A little better looking than described in the novel (not his fault), but so on point in character. Note 2. . . There is no need to go into much detail about Ruth Wilson s portrayal of Jane: she was absolutely perfect. Look, demeanor, passion, youth, innocence, fire. . . she was Jane Eyre. She was so on point with all the emotions (or lack of control of them) that an 18/19 year old would feel, but had a maturity level that could only come from a tough and loveless upbringing, with a desire to love and be loved. Jane s role was so on point with the book, even with all the subtleties that I have not one complaint. She was not overacted or unrealistic, she was exactly how the book portrayed her. Even all the side characters were perfect, like Adele and Blanche Ingram. I am thrilled.

#Amazing! (2010-06-19) Jane Eyre (Masterpiece Theatre, 2006) I must admit to being a latecomer to Jane Eyre. I have enjoyed the musical, read the book, and seen this version of the story all within the last 2 months. What a timeless and fascinating story! I also must admit right up front that this is the only adaptation of Jane Eyre that I have seen, thus I have nothing to compare it too--but I love it! While I think others could have done Edward Rochester justice, it is hard for me to even imagine somebody matching Ruth Wilson s portrayal of Jane. To see her transformation from trampled upon school girl to the strong, independent woman she becomes is a pleasure to watch. I would highly recommend this presentation of this truly great story. As much as I praise this rendition I find one disappointment. Even though I am not a literary purist that demands complete accuracy to the book of the filmmaker, one would certainly expect keeping with the spirit of the story. While I understand the desire to, and I quote from the front of the DVD cover, have just the right amount of heaving bodices, the attempted seduction scene in Jane s bedroom following the aborted wedding not only is a huge departure from the text and spirit of the book, but a very dishonest representation of Jane s character.

#Professional NitPicker Secret (2010-08-21) I just paid [. . . ] per hour to have a professional nit-picker de-louse me. She used this comb with white hair conditioner (any brand will do). She combed thru my hair for 40 minutes, my daughters for an hour. I paid [. . . ] total. She would comb with this tool then wipe and spread the conditioner on a papertowel, so we could see the lice and nits (eggs). For the last 15 mins she captured no lice or nits. You MUST comb from all directions. Do this 3x per week for 30 mins, 2x with conditioner, 1x with olive oil (let it sit for 5 hours). You ll be lice/nit free. You should do this comb through with conditioner once a month till 8th grade. She sells this comb for [. . . ] and her desperate clients buy it. Get it here and have it handy for that day you feel the itch, or get it here if you have the problem now. She swears by this comb. No useless toxic chemicals used. You must remove the nits because the toxic chemicals don t work. Profit from my experience and save yourself a bundle.

#Ridiculous Placement of Reset Tool (2010-08-31) It s obvious that the IT Security and Risk Management folks in Kensington don t use their own product. If they did, they d realize that the Reset Tool (the funny U-shaped 2-pronged thingy) is right on the loop, where ANYONE can use it to undo your combination lock!

#Not the best choice for College Students (2010-08-30) I recently bought this laptop lock to use in my dorm room. The lock is made well but the coiled cord is not very long. If you try to use it while sitting on a bad or desk its okay, but not easy to move around. Most people move their laptop from place to place so I suggest getting a cord that isn t coiled and thus has a longer reach. However, its all preference. However, If you want to move the lock from place to place(i. e Starbucks) it is small and compact. I would say the lock is designed well and secure. If you re looking for a budget friendly purchase, it might be good for you. Otherwise I suggest getting a lock with a straight cable.

#read these set up instructions (2010-08-26) This lock works, but the directions are completely useless. A previous reviewer posted an excellent set of step by step instructions. I am reposting them here for your convenience:As previous reviews have noted, the instructions on this thing look like they were written by a 2 year old. Here is how to set this lock: 1. Set the lock to all 0 s 2. Insert the metal key into the bottom of the lock, with the 2 yellow dots. 3. Twist the metal key until the 2 yellow dots line up, creating a yellow line. 4. Scramble to your new code 5. CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MOVE THE COMBO AT ALL DURING THIS STEP. It is very easy to accidentally move the combo a number or 2 during this step, and it will ruin your lock for good (if you do not remember the missed-entered combo. Now, twist the metal key back to its original position, breaking the yellow line back into 2 yellow dots. You are now done. To LOCK the product into a device: 1. Tie the lock around something, anything, using the loop. 2. Set the lock to the correct code. 3. Insert the lock into the device, and then turn 90 degrees. If don t properly, the lock will not come out of the device, BUT YOU ARE NOT DONE. 4. While pushing the button on the end of the lock, scramble the lock to an incorrect code. This should lock the lock in place, and prevent it from spinning in the device. Double check with a few tugs that the device is secure. To UNLOCK: 1. Re-enter correct code 2. Push button 3. Turn 90 degrees 4. Remove from device.

#Feels solid, not difficult to use (2010-08-20) Overall, I would say this lock is exactly what it claims to be. It offers a moderate level of security in a small package - it will keep someone from walking off with your laptop, and it s easy to carry with you. It feels solid and well-made, but it is a compact item that s lightweight and compact, and as such, it could be defeated with fairly basic tools. So if someone s really motivated, it wouldn t be TOO hard to break/cut/disable the lock, but it s FAR better than no lock at all. Other reviews have addressed the (lack of) clarity in the instruction manual, and someone even posted very clear instructions for how to set your own combination. I wanted to see how bad the instructions really were, so I intentionally didn t look at the clear instructions in the other review, and just followed the instructions in the manual. I had no problems at all setting my own combination - you do need to pay careful attention to the diagrams (including position of the spring-loaded button, and the tool that s attached to the loop). But if you re careful and follow step by step, it s really not difficult. My only minor gripe is that the coiled cord is a little difficult to work with. It is coiled fairly tightly, so it can actually pull on your laptop if it s stretched out, and it can get tangled on itself. However, the coiling does make the whole thing very compact when not in use, and there is a non-coiled version available (albeit currently at a $15 price premium), so the complaint against coiling is really not valid - it was my choice to buy the coiled one. If you re looking for some basic and easy-to-carry laptop security, I highly recommend this lock. It s an especially good value with the current $10 rebate.

#Nice Lock (2010-08-19) Follow the instructions posted earlier and this lock works perfectly. DO be careful when setting the code, it is certainly possible to accidentally move a few numbers in the process without proper care. After that, locking and unlocking is a breeze. It fits my unibody 13 macbook pro without forcing it, which is nice because I ve had some other locks that don t work in the kensington slot of this laptop.

Anything can be cut with the right tools but this lock will protect you from 90% of the crime of laptop computer theft being the quick grab and run! No way possible if used correctly for that to happen anymore! I love it as when I travel on the train, which I do more often then many, I can get up and go to dinner or a drink and not fear someone will see the chance to pick-up my laptop and run with it. #Tamper proof issue (2010-08-21) My son leaves for college next week, and may never use this lock. In the instructions, we read about the tamper proof feature. If someone tampers with the lock, you ll see a red line on the lock, and NO key will work. The instructions are to call the 800 number, which I did just to see what the next step we would take. We were told that we would have to call a locksmith, and Kensington would pay up to $80 for the locksmith. So let s say my son is at the college library with his locked computer. He gets up, and someone tampers with it, or maybe some of the kids are just fooling around with it. When he returns, he cannot unlock it from the library table. So now he has to call a locksmith, and wait, possibly missing classes. What if the library is closing, the computer would have to stay there. What if he cannot get a locksmith for a day or so, the locked computer still sits at the library. We bought a combination lock.

#Received what I ordered on a timely basis (2010-08-17) Not much to say about this product. It is what it is, and I received it on time. I bought it for my daughter for college to lock her laptop. Five stars for delivery compliance, three stars for the length of cable (could have been a bit longer).

#The design scares me... (2010-08-17) Although this lock fit perfectly in my macbook pro (and I was able to suspend my laptop by the lock after I installed it), the lock design is smart, but so thin I m afraid for it to break after long usage.

#Pleased today (2010-08-12) Just received this lock. First impressions are good, the cable is thicker than what you usually see on this type of product. The key is big and easy to locate. The ruber insert keeps your laptop from getting scratched (not really a concern on *this* laptop). I can confirm that the fit is loose but this does not affect how it secures to the device. There is some wiggle room but not enough that it would be able to be shimmied off. Things that I am thinking of now are specific to my laptop. The Kensington slot is right by my system fan, which I have a laptop that blows out 1000 degree air. The metal lock gets very hot. Perhaps being so hot will further deter would be thieves. It s no secret that cable can be cut, the hope is that no one with tools will come across your laptop and have enough time to snatch it.

#Cute color (2010-08-21) I chose this one because the red matched my notebook. I like how this lock had some color to it. & because I herd combos and tubular locks were easy to hack into. I ve never owned a laptop lock before, but this one looks and feels high quality. It was, however, extremely flimsy on my toshiba netbook. It fit more snuggly on my mom s sony vaio, although it still wobbles a bit. Key part kind of scared me at first for a brief moment, but then I figured out how to use it. You have to make sure you push it in ALL the way (you ll hear a click short of) to unlock it. But don t worry, it seems legit and won t break or get stuck. Cable is long and strong. It is a high quality lock, but I think it would fit more better on certain laptops than others, but in my situation it didn t fit my toshiba too well. So overall I d give it a 3 stars.

#difficult to operate, but works with MacBook Pro (2010-08-04) To lock, just attach and turn the key, right? Not with this lock. It turns out there s a trick: you have to push in and turn the T-bar first so that the rod is lined up straight between the two prongs -- it can t be perpendicular or it won t work. So if you want to keep the key on your key ring, you ll have to deal with lining up the T-bar every time you insert the lock. (If you have the key loose, you won t have to remove it after you remove the lock from the laptop, and then the T-bar stays in position. ) The manual covers none of this. Before I learned how to use the lock, I called Kensington and the representative said the MacBook Pro doesn t have a K symbol, so their locks won t work with it. That turns out not to be true. I went to a Mac store, and they use this lock with the MacBook Pro. So do I.

#Surprising poor design (2010-07-13) I bought this lock cable back in 2008 after reading a number of reviews, user feedback, etc. Despite the effort I put to find a good product, I m not happy with it and I would not purchase the same cable again. It has a number of design flaws which are surprising coming from the company who introduced the Kensington lock. Ultimately, (I see now) has a poor value for money. 1. I would have liked a feature to allow me to lock the cable into itself. This looks like a small metal disk close to the cable noose/loop with a Kensington lock in it, just like most laptops have. This allows me to take my laptop with me and leave the cable behind in the office, locked, without being worried someone would steal it or remove it for a prank. I don t understand why this feature is present on cheap 5 Euro lock cables yet major vendors did not figure it out in their expensive cables. 2. The rubber ring installed to prevent laptop scratching got detached almost immediately and got lost soon thereafter. They could have figured a better method to prevent it falling off that easily. 3. When I carry the cable in my bag (not when using it of course), I would prefer a way to keep the key(s) securely attached to the cable. I found keeping the key in the lock when the cable is not in use is not a good idea as it falls off easily and I end up scrambling in my laptop bag for the loose key hiding among other accessories. Keeping in the key ring is not acceptable for me, I have multiple laptops, each with their own cable (and key) and the keyring would get too heavy attaching all possible keys. I keep each laptop in its own bag, with its own lock cable and pick one or two depending on which customer I m going. Other (a lot cheaper) lock cables have a strip of velcro helping keep the cable neatly coiled when not in use and very handy also to attach its corresponding key. Kensigton chose to replace the velcro with a piece of orange plastic, which works the just as good to keep the cable coiled, but not at all to prevent the keys getting lost. 4. Finally, as most people probably suspect already, all those cables are just a small deterrent. It really takes 30sec to cut/saw through any of those cables, cheap or expensive, it makes no difference at all or extremely little. Most people are honest enough not to try to steal a locked laptop, but a determined thief will face exactly same trouble defeating a cheap cable or an expensive one. Realizing that, the 44$ I spent on this cable could have been used to buy 4 cheaper cables offering just the same level of protection and without the design flaws at point 1-3.

#Usefull (2010-07-05) Given that you do have something to anchor the lock down with the product is great. The product seems to be very durable and works seamlessly with the lock-slot built into laptops and other electronics. There have been times that it took more time that preferred to get the lock either locked or unlocked but never have I ever had an issue where i was unable to get the the electronic device. All in all i think that it is worth the buy and that there aren t any prevalent flaws in this security device.

#Terrible quality, got jammed in my laptop (2010-06-26) The lock got jammed the very first time I tried to use it and it took 10 minutes to pry it off my laptop. The previous Kensington combo lock I bought is also starting to jam. Stay away. ------Update: I bought the Belkin cable lock instead, also available on Amazon (Belkin F8E550-CMK Notebook Security Lock, Master-Keyed), and I am happy with it. It s a bit bulkier (it uses a small standard padlock instead of Kensington s custom lock integrated with the cable) but it is much easier to use and it is built better. No more struggling with the jammed Kensington locks. . .

Mccanns Traditional Oatmeal (Tin), 28 Ounce Unit

#All cans dented, but do not affect the quality. (2010-08-20) I have ordered 2 orders of this thing - i. e. a total of 8 cans of McCann Irish Oatmeal. When they arrived, all cans were lighted dented one way or the other. But I have checked the sealed foil for each one and every foil was intact - it s perfectly sealed. The expiry date for all cans is March 2012. Apart from that, I am completely satisifed with the quality of this oatmeal and the delivery time.

#Oatmeal Heaven! (2010-08-19) Not only is this, hands down, the BEST oats we have EVER had. . . the identical product is for sale in our local market for THREE DOLLARS MORE per can. #Try Cooking it Overnight (2010-07-30) I tried steel-cut oatmeal for the first time this week and I am hooked! I ll never go back to regular oatmeal again! I cook mine overnight in the slow cooker using a variation of Alton Brown s Overnight Oatmeal recipe, substituting raisins for the figs just because I like them better. My slow cooker tends to run hot so I put the temperature to warm overnight and then crank it up to low about an hour before serving (just enough time to have coffee and read the morning paper!). My family devoured it and asked for more! Pretty good for folks who don t normally even eat breakfast![. . . ].

#All cans are dented (2010-07-19) As another buyer mentioned here on Amazon, all four cans arrived with major dents. It seems they are getting rid of dented cans by shipping them sight-unseen to internet consumers. Bad tactic. I ll never buy from these guys again. I could have bought a large sack of 10 lbs of steel-cut oats for about half-price ($11) but the reason I bought this product for $22 is I WANTED TO HAVE THE CANS.

#Batch-Making FUN! (2010-01-20) I am a huge fan of the McCANN S steel-cut Irish oatmeal. I make it in batches (the entire box, adding 11 cups of water) in a kettle. I then spoon it out into small containers and store individual servings in the refrigerator. When I want a quick breakfast, I pull a serving out, plop it into a bowl, add a bit of water, and heat in the microwave for a bit over 2 minutes. VOILA! The perfect, quick breakfast!I have found that McCANN s is the best steel-cut oatmeal out there.

#Smart Leather Cover (2010-09-03) The cover arrived with the Kindle. Thus I have been lucky to use from the beinging. As Kindle does not ship with any jacket -- this is a must. Of all the designs available in the Kindle store -- by this appears to be the smartest. The Only draw back for this price you get the cover minus the booklight, which is a must requirement. Hope they have a remidial action available to attach later-- especially which compliments the asthetics of this cover. Suggestion : The cover should have an option to personalize -- print a name/ message/logo etc.

I had the Cole Haan Hand-Stained Pebble Grain Leather Kindle Cover with Hinge (Fits 6 Display, 2nd Generation Kindle), Saddle Tan for my K2, and I originally purchased the Cole Haan Hand-Woven Leather Kindle Cover with Hinge (Fits 6 Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Whiskey for my new K3. The new Cole Haan case is not meeting my needs, so I decided to give the Amazon cover a try. My new red cover just arrived today. The color is very nice - more brick red than burgundy. I immediately noticed that it was much smaller and sleeker than the Cole Haan cover. The Kindle fits just inside the cover, and there is not a lot of excess around the edges. I noticed that many reviewers are complaining about the weight/bulk, but for me this was an improvement over the Cole Haan covers. The strap is a nice feature as well, although I m wondering how long it will hold up after reading some of the other negative reviews. The biggest con for me is that the leather doesn t feel as nice as I would like it to. Perhaps I shouldn t be comparing it to the incredibly buttery-soft leather that Cole Haan uses, but it s hard to ignore the difference. This leather is harder and reminds me of a plastic substance. I m not saying it s bad, it s just not super lush. If I had never seen the Cole Haan cover, I would likely not even be commenting on this in such detail!Overall, this cover is perfectly fine. If you re super picky about the quality of the leather, you may not like it. If you can get over that detail, I think this cover will do the trick.

#Well Made Cover (2010-09-02) This cover is attractive and well made. The attachment mechanism works well to easily attach or detach the Kindle from the cover, and the elastic strap serves its purpose well. It seems like it will provide decent protection for the Kindle in my laptop bag or in the overhead on a plane. As a first-time Kindle owner, I think I m going to prefer reading without a cover, but even if I remove it for reading, this one will be useful when traveling. For everyday use around the house, I ll probably end up with some kind of a soft case that doesn t attach to the Kindle.

#Be nice if it worked (2010-09-03) I ordered the new Kindle and cover with the light together. This being my fourth Kindle so far. The page advance on the right hand side of the Kindle does not work and the light will only function if I force the back of the cover backwards to a point where no light gets onto the screen. Both are going back for replacements so let s see if they fix the problem. Love the improved contrast on the Kindle though. I must say that Amazon return policy is excellent. #Good color selection, but preshrunk? (2010-08-02) It begs to wonder just how big the raw material was PRIOR to Hanes preshrinking process. Because of the supposed preshrunk proclamation, we ordered a batch of ten of these direct from the manufacturer off of their own website--their special promotion at the time offered the best price with free shipping. Turns out half of the ten had to be sent back, simply because the test wash example of those five shirts in the same size shrank too much to fit. The five that had been intended for me also shrank considerably so I couldn t/wouldn t wear them, but the resultant length fit another family member fine so were passed along, despite the less-than-desirable colors. Shirts in both sizes shrank in length at least two inches. In addition, more vibrant colors such as purple (closely resembling one of my school s colors when new) and lime (vibrant?) green lost color and faded right away after the first wash, even while using a color-friendly detergent and washing/drying techniques. The remaining earth tones I had originally chosen for myself held up a bit better, but even most of those appeared to have faded some with the first wash. I d say that the thickness of the 100% cotton material is about average for t-shirts these days, it isn t as thick as what one used to find from comparable tees from the 1990s, and definitely isn t close to anything from the 1980s, a couple of examples that were once mine my wife came across a few days ago (oh, if they still only fit). I suppose that might be a good thing if you sweat a lot, but quite weak if durability and value is important considerations. Even for the amount of money paid, it s hard for us to call these a great bargain. You get what you pay for, which is quite average at best.

#Broke after 1.5 months (2010-08-28) I purchased this item a little over a month ago and liked it for the most part. I liked having an accesible knife on my key ring. The bottle opener doesn t work well--slips easily which is scary with an open blade on the other end. Regardless, it broke--the metal actually snapped right behind the screwdriver where the bottle opener is. I think this was due to the stress of opening bottles although it was in my pocket when it actually broke. I was very lucky I didn t cut myself when I reached for my keys because the knife was exposed as a result of it breaking. I usually use the entire bottle of cleaner up but not the oil. The only downside is the fact you have to wait for it to try before putting it back in the car. I usually do the change before I go to bed and put it back in the car when I wake up in the morning. Taking it out cleaning and putting it back in usually takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

#Guns, Germa and Steel Audio Version (2010-08-27) A great audio adaptation of a great book. I listened to it on my commute to work. I have the actual book, but had no time to sit down and read it. If you are very busy, audio versions of books really work well.

#Great book (2010-08-26) The narrator possesses a refined and compelling voice, and the author s writing style stimulates the mind. The author uses a tremendous amount of detail to avoid unnecessary/inaccurate generalizations and intentional/unintentional misinterpretations. However, the author executes this feat without allowing the reader to feel lost in mundane facts. I enjoyed the author s use of rhetorical questions to explore the viewpoints of persons who oppose his assertions. Overall, an informative and invigorating read. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has ever asked, Why did certain people and cultures end up with so much, while others ended up with so little.

#Absurd (2010-08-23) There are so many things wrong with this book,I don t know where to start. First, the author sees himself as a scientist and writes like he is providing an article to Vanity Fair. Ignoring science, disregarding significant works and stating opinion as fact he proceeds to batter us with trivia while ignoring facts. I have no argument with the inability of IQ tests to accurately define human intelligence as it relates to practical capability. That doesn t mean, as one of the other reviewers mentioned, that the Bell Curve is not a significant book. Argue the rationale not simply state an opinion and walk away. This book is so plagued with bad science and silly extrapolations from 11,000 years ago that it ignores many of the realities of history. I ll stop now but I could go on for paragraphs.

#Human History for the Classroom (2010-08-21) Jared Diamond s incredible world history book should be required reading for high school students. No cheating allowed by just watching the National Geographic video versions--although the program *is* a great way to introduce the book.

#Fascinating Book (2010-08-13) I ll be the first to admit that this book is dense, somewhat repetitive, and a difficult read. However, I won t be the first to admit that it s also one of the more fascinating reads out there if one is interested in the origin of civilizations, ecological anthropology and why some civilizations became more advanced than others. Diamond is at his best synthesizes great quantities of data, which he does here.

#Great For The Whole Family!!!!!!! (2010-07-19) I originally bought this game because the children wanted it. I am not one to play video games, I leave that to my husband and children. But then I watched them play Carnival Games, and I had to have them reset the system so I could also be included in playing. All of the games were so much fun, we have such a great time whenever we play it together. All of the games that you would find at Carnivals & Fairs are on here, plus more. Pretty much the only difference is that on this, you will actually have a better winning streak because they are not rigged like some are at an actual carnival making it harder for people to win.

#Plastic section can still break like the original RB pedals (2010-05-10) It s the same pedal as the original all-plastic pedal, except there is a metal top. About 7 months after I bought it, cracks formed in the middle of the plastic, under the metal surface. A few weeks later, the cracks became one big crack. It is now 2 plastic pieces held together by one metal plate. For now, it still works as it was when the plastic part wasn t cracked. I don t know if it will get worse over time. It s the best *regular* replacement Rock Band drum pedal out there, but don t buy it if you need something more durable. There are companies online that make drum pedals that won t break or crack at all. Go to them if need an unbreakable pedal for the game.

#Good but clicky (2010-04-13) Overall this replacement pedal feels better than the one that comes bundled with RB2, but it has certain audible click to it that the old one didn t have. It s working and feels tighter and that s really all I care about.

#Great DLC (2010-07-01) This is the best add-on for Fallout 3 if you want to buy them separately. It will increase your level-up ability to Level 30 as well. However, I DO recommend buying Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition though if you would like all the add-ons including Mothership Zeta, which doesn t come as part of any separate add-on pack. Point Lookout is a totally different world which is great, but none of the followers are allowed to travel with your character there, so I recommend maxing out your skills, S. P. E. C. I. A. L and perks first. Good all around add-on pack though.

#Fun Game! (2010-08-27) I recently played this game on my newer computer for the first time. I really enjoyed it. I soon liked the graphics, because on my old computer they were not so good. The AI (traffic) has been improved since Haulin, which I also have a review for. No, the traffic isn t perfect, but I want some imperfections because people do not drive perfectly in real life. I like the fact that the bus s color was changed to a nice blue, and that Mexico was added. I recommend installing the patch because there are some noticeable bugs in the original game. Go to [. . . ] to find the patch. I do not trust the other patches from other sites. The patch really does fix the problems. The graphics are not the same as Haulin, no matter what anyone says. They are improved, and the #2 camera view is better in this game. I also like the fact that more gas and service stations were added, as well as some shortcut roads, and two new trucks. The graphics are not as good as UK Truck Simulator and German Truck Simulator, but for the time they are great.

#Great Trucking Game with Limitations (2010-01-31) There are probably two types of people out there interested in this game: people who ve played one of the 18 Wheels series and people who haven t. If you have played on of these games, skip down a bit. If you haven t, depending on what sort of simulations you re in to, this game may give you hours of enjoyment or boredom. The basic tack of the game is, as you d expect, you get some money, an entry-level rig and a lack of any reputation. Your goal is to grab loads to haul and drive them across the US and to some extent Canada and Mexico. As you haul loads, you ll make more money for upgrades for your rig (or a whole new rig) and you ll gain a reputation. Your success and your reputation lead to your ability to hire on other drivers and expand your trucking empire. To counteract your success, you ll have to deal with long (and in some cases boring) hauls, police (checking speed, general driving rules, etc), and to some extent, the competition of your fellow truckers. There s also traffic on the roads including other trucks. There used to be a bug in older versions that made traffic hazardous (cars would just randomly hit the brakes like they were trying to cause an accident) but that s gone and traffic will even yield to your turn signal. But, to compensate for this, the devs decided to throw in something else to cause you grief. If you so much as stop one inch beyond the line at a stop light, you ll be flagged as having run a red light (a fine worth up to $9000 in the game!). This and people driving in obvious violation of the law (well, at least in the states I ve driven) where they re making right turns across one or more lanes of traffic (thus colliding with you and getting you in trouble with the law again) can mean you ll be dishing out a lot to pay violations. Of course, the silver lining is that you only really pay for violations if you pass within a certain distance of a parked cop car. The graphics are passable but dated. The graphic engine won t show up on a video games award show any time soon. Cities will have some hints at their landmarks and the like but there is no real attempt to map out the city in anyway. The cities are just small hubs where you ll find services and companies to grab loads from. That said, it does what it needs to do and the rigs themselves are pretty detailed. There are several cameras you can use to check your rig out while driving plus a great top-down cam that s been in the games of the series for a while and for good reason. . . nothing beats using that to hitch and line up trailers. Even so, the camera can be limited (you can only zoom out so far) and with a long enough (double) trailer, you can t really see beyond about half way down the second trailer. You ll have to rely on mirrors and other camera angles to get that right. The driving is okay but has the same limitations as any other driving game. Ideally, you ll want to use a wheel or joystick (or gamepad). I don t have any of those so I used the keyboard. The keyboard works but driving can be challenging at times given the lack of a way to finesse turns and the like. Even so, you ll largely just be more worried about getting from point A to point B. There are short cuts in places but you re largely constricted to a couple of set highways to get from city to city. Still, you ve got to manage your speed (cops), your fuel (only so many gas stations), and your route (watch for those short cuts) so there are things to keep you busy even on a long haul. Overall, the game can be fun but it s a very specific fun. I personally like business sims and love the idea of running and managing logistics and just trucking loads across America. If you re looking for a fast-paced game or a complicated economic sim, this is not the game for you. But, if you wanted to strap yourself into a rig and drive around the country hauling loads, this is the game for you. And, it also helps that the price is nice and low. This version essentially rolls up all the various updates and changes made throughout the 18 Wheels series so you re getting the best version of the simulation (with the business side as well as the rigs and some of the bug fixes). Previous 18 Wheels Owners (Start here)For those of you that have tried an 18 Wheels game before you should know the drill by now. The games are more of a minor evolution than a revolution as you go from game to game. At this point, though, in the series, you re getting all the enhancements that have come down the pike (the more complicated business sim, the fix for the traffic issue, the expanded map with all of North America, etc. ). At the same time, if you got Haulin , you likely got most of this anyway. So, if you haven t updated your original 18 Wheels (across america?) game, you should probably just grab this sucker (it s nice and cheap anyway) and get up to date. If you got Haulin or are like me and got every version in the series so far, this isn t going to be pushing the envelope for you at all. Still, the map seems to be a bit different and I noticed at least one thing that was fixed (that traffic bug. . . where cars used to just hit the brakes all the time) and, as I mentioned, it s dirt cheap (at least right now @9. 99), it might be worth the pick up just to get some of those minor enhancements. It s your money so you ll know the best approach. All in all, I like the series despite it s issues. I, like a lot of other fans, keep holding out for that graphics upgrade and some more sophisticated aspects to the business part (and maybe an autopilot for those times when you really just don t want to do that cross-country run again). Maybe one day. . .

#A Trucking Game Lover s Review (2010-05-22) This game is so much fun. The graphics are great. This game is great value for the money. I have been playing this game for almost a full month and am not even a little bored with it. I am almost finished moving through the ranks. This game is addicting. It is great that the company decided to add something different to their series. I love all of the locations in this game. My favorite location is Yungas Road. I would recommend this to anyone who likes realistic trucking games for a reasonable price, with great graphics. HOWEVER, I do want to mention that this game requires a decent computer. I have an HP Pavillion Elite HPE computer, with a 3. 0 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 1 TB hard drive, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT220 graphics card with 1 GB of memory. It has Windows 7. The graphics card is excellent for this game, as it runs very smoothly, even on the very highest settings. I had an older computer, and this game ran terribly. I have no complaints with this game.

I can t say much yet about long term durability yet, as I ve only been wearing these for about 5 months now. But these are definitely the most comfortable work shoes I ve ever had. They re relatively light for steel-toe shoes and they re cushioned inside like high quality sneakers. I recommend these to other big guys I know.

#Great pair of steel toe shoes (2010-06-04) I am now on my second pair after running my first into the ground after 2 years. These are the most comfortable steel toe shoes that I have ever owned. No need to break them in or get use to them. Other brands can t compare in style and comfort (I ve tried Wolverine, Worx, Cat and Converse). The only down side is the construction on certain areas doesn t quite hold up to heavy abuse, but will last long enough to get your money s worth. I had to replace them do to tearing at the seems in the steel toe area, rubber toe separating and the back heel padding being nonexistent (mostly my fault for being lazy and sliding them on and off). But these shoes paid their dividends in protection and comfort, so I had to buy another pair. I give them 5 stars due to the comfort and protection. I am not going to knock them down for my constant abuse. They lasted a solid year before starting to show signs of wear and tear.

#Great supportive boot with lots of comfort. (2010-04-02) I am a painter, and I had a herniated disc two years ago. Since then at least once a week my back will start to ache on the job, and I thought maybe if I got some more supportive footwear it would help the situation. It did. My back stills gets sore of course, but about 40% less, and the only thing that has changed is that I got these boots. They are extremely sturdy, and they will take about 2-3 weeks to break in. The only real con is the weight of the boots. They aren t bad at all compared to some other workboots out there-around one lb each- but it still might bother someone who is used to hi-tops or shoes. The fit is more generous then I thought it would be. I wear a 11 regular, and thats what I ordered thinking that it may be a wee bit tight. Wrong. A regular is a regular in Timberland boots. Good to know. So those of you who think your feet might be a little wide would not need to move up to the wide boot. The regular is plenty roomy even in a thicker sock. The soles seem just fine. No falls or slips yet, and I have not seen a loss of traction. They also look pretty spiffy (maybe thats why they are in so many hip-hop vids?) but they don t stay that way if you do in fact use them for work. All in all, these are the best pair of workboots I have ever owned, and for $70 you cannot beat the quality and price. Cheers.

#The Only Boot I Will Ever Buy (2010-01-13) These boots are such nice boots, Timberland® just got a customer for life after my first pair of these beasts! I personally am just a 17 year old guy who does more walking than most people. I attend a private school were switching classes every is a half-mile ordeal which occurs about 7x a day. After school I work as a cashier and do other various jobs at a clothing store standing the whole time. Not only do these work boots blow away other work boots I ve had but they also beat all the sneakers I ve had in the past. I ve had almost every brand of sneaker mind you though my experience with work boots is pretty limited. In the past I ve had Sears brand boots which sucked more than anything else. Don t want to turn this onto a review on them but they stunk like s*** and were being destroyed by the winter salts. Already got my dad a pair from work and plan on getting myself another pair, one to kick the hell out of and one to keep nice. I suggest if you are buying these go for the steel toe, I have not noticed the steel comfort wise nor temperature. Overall a great boot for the price!

#Good boots, some rubbing and wear issues (2009-07-22) I purchased these boots about 2 1/2 years ago and have been wearing them close to 5 days a week since then. I kept them clean and treated with Sno-Seal a few times a year and they have lasted quite a long time. Aside from the normal practice of replacing the insole every 6 months, I m looking for a new pair of boots because these have worn through the liner at the back of the heel and on the inside at the steel toe causing holes in pretty much every pair of socks I have. Also, the lower part of the sole has also started to separate from the upper on both boots. I will probably buy another pair since they have been the longest lasting work boots I ve owned. If you try them on in a store to ensure a proper fit before you buy them and keep them clean and treated, I believe these boots would last the average person many years.

#Man oh Man (2009-07-17) Worst boots I have ever worn. So much that I decided to let others know. Purchased these in March of this year and after a week needed cushion insoles. The insides have worn out bad and the hard plastic creates blisters on your feet all over. The cushion is thin foam like you would find as a air filter. They are also too heavy.

Very comfortable, very durable. This is the first pair ive bought, and these are going to be the boots I buy from now on! #great water bottle (2010-09-02) Am enjoying this water bottle. It replaced a Sigg, which dented quite easily. The violet color is great. The base is small enough to fit into holders easily (in the car, golf cart, etc. ). The only thing that is different is that it chirps when you drink from it. It must come from the small air hole in the top. It drives my daughter crazy when she uses hers, but I don t mind it at all! It s fairly quiet, but it definitely chirps !! The 27-oz. is a good size and I don t have to keep refilling it often. Very happy with purchase.

#Hate these things. (2010-08-30) Ok, they get one star for being attractive. And one more for using safe materials. But they are horrible beyond that. I am shocked that anyone thinks they are any good. They let more air than water in through the nozzle, and they make a loud, bizarre whistling noise. And if you try to remove the white stopper to get better water flow they will leak water all over you. Yes, they do fit bicycle bottle holders, but if you buy the painted ones the paint will scrape off immediately when you take them in and out of the bottle cage (unless your cage is plastic - not sure about that). AND - the little nozzle WILL NOT STAY OPEN! If you try to drink it will slide shut when it is barely touched. If you are standing very, very still and not moving and concentrate very hard, you can kind of hold it open with your teeth or lips and try to suck the water that way. Then it will probably stay open. But of course, you are just going to get mostly air anyway, especially when the bottle is not completely full. Sending ours back.

#Great Durable Bottle (2010-08-30) I ve had this bottle for 2 months now and it has one tiny ding in it but otherwise looks like new. It has held up remarkable well to considering I take it everywhere, certainly much better than other bottles I ve had or seen in the past. The 27 ounce is the perfect size too, a good medium-large bottle with a wide mouth which you can fit ice cubes in. Perfect for anything you might want it for. I highly recommend it.

#They were as expected, but perspire like crazy! (2010-08-30) I bought two 40 oz bottles with the sports cap. I use the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Water Bottle Shoulder Sling (40-Ounce Bottles) with these bottles. Pros:They are lightweight, even when full. The sports caps I received with my bottles make drinking easy. (To other reviewers who say these make noises when drinking from them: these don t chirp if I hold it so the loop part is up. )Stainless steel bottle is durable. Cons:Cold liquids cause the bottle to perspire. Be prepared for a damp pant leg if you carry this using the sling. With the sports cap, if the bottle is tipped over, it leaks, even with the outer cap on. For anyone that cares, the two bottles are slightly magnetic. Small fridge magnets do stay on the bottles when placed on there. Apparently, this is expected because of the Klean Kanteen manufacturing process.

#Klean Kanteen (2010-08-26) Just got this in the mail today. Product is light, attractive and large enough for plenty of fluid (I have the 18oz version, plenty big. ) Everything seems well made and sure to last a while as it is stainless steel. I prefer the Klean Kanteen to other manufactures because of the stripped down nature of it. The stainless steel look is perfect, very utilitarian inside and out. I don t really want or need paint, designs or special caps. Just hold my water for me. I m sure it will do that for a while.

The straps work great but could use a little more padding. The straps could leave a mark under your arm when you use them but using a towel to supplement the strap should help.

#Pleasantly Surprised (2010-08-26) My H2300 arrived today and I have to say that I m pleasantly surprised. For the price, I was expecting something smaller and heavier. But the H2300 is roomy enough to fit two large textbooks inside and still light to lift onto a high shelf without strain. I do agree with those who said that a handle would be a nice option. I m also a bit concerned about how well the plastic latch release will hold up. But overall I d say this item is a good value for the money. One caveat: I would not recommend this item for a child or someone who is elderly and frail. The cover is heavy, and when opened to less than 90 degrees it falls closed rapidly. This is probably a feature (to ensure it closes watertight when closed but unlocked), but it could be a danger to someone without much strength in their hands. (It might also be difficult to open. )

#Recognizing it for what it is (2010-08-24) This is not a safe to protect against thieves. I have rated it four stars ASSUMING it will keep documents safe in case of fire or water damage. I have not tested it in this regard. The reason I knocked one star off the rating is because of the locking mechanism. I don t understand why there is a lock to begin with. A thief could simply carry the entire safe off with him, but this is not necessary since a little force is sufficient to pop it open by hand while locked. I had the safe in a deep cabinet, and was pulling it toward me by the handle when the locking mechanism gave way and the safe was opened. The handle used to open the safe is made of plastic, which would certainly melt in a fire (again, leaving the valuables inside unlocked). Overall, as long as it does its job in case of fire or water damage, I m pleased.

#Suits its purpose (2010-07-02) I purchased this safe after reading numerous reviews from other consumers. It arrived very quickly and was well packaged. The safe itself holds all of my important documents and has plenty of room for jewelry items and a handgun. It is well constructed. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the key is not the greatest and in fact I had trouble opening it the first time. After a couple attempts, I got the feel for the key and have had no trouble since then. It suits it s purpose and is priced very reasonably.

#Had trouble with cushion mount, but then went smoothly. (2010-09-03) I have put this off as a bad purchase and it was just sitting in my closet for months due to the original box being destroyed and thrown away and hence not being able to return. First, I received this through Waste King Direct, which Im learning is an incompetent and shady company. That explains why I didn t receive any literature/manuals for this product. Second, I m having a heck of a time trying to install the cushion mount rubber seal onto the flange in order to mount the garbage disposal. The cushion mount seems to be too big and it won t all for the disposal to mount. Not enough clearance for the tab to be inserted and turned into the groove to be properly secured. But, problem solved, and edited. Over a very decent disposal, except for the flimsy - cheap - plastic enclosure. . . .

#My new Wate King 8000 (2010-08-31) After reading reviews here I changed my mind from the Disposal I had planned to buy and purchased the Waste King. The life time warranty sounded like icing on the cake. I bought direct from Waste king. The purchase was painless and the shipping and handling was great. I would recommend them to anyone. I m like some others whose reviews I read and was surprised it was housed in plastic but so is most other products now days. Installation using the easy connection method instead of the 3 bolt method went smoothly with all my plumbing fitting up to it only requiring me to mount a receptical on the end of the electrical wire since this disposal has a plug on the cord. I haven t used it long enough to recommend it s operation but will update after some time in use. it is a little loud but not as loud as my old one that was much smaller. The easy mount system was just that. From beginning to end the install only took my handy husband less than 1 hour. #Cool (2010-08-14) This weapon is cool. It is a great tool, very sharp, well made. If your into throwing I would suggest something with a wider blade, but for clearing brush around a fishing hole, or sharpening wood to a point, making tinder,this thing is great. I do think the sheath could have been made a little better. It is tight against the belt and has a tendency to pop open in cramped spaces.

If I have any negative reaction it would be due to me assuming I was getting a Fusion Tomahawk. the SOG branding is on the haft, the sheaf even the axe-eye, but not the Fusion Tactical branding. so, did I get a Fusion Tactical? I m thinking no. After this minor letdown, I must say that overall I am happy. Money is a bit of a scarce thing these days for me and so I knew I couldn t pick up an uber-tomahawk as I would have wanted. But I am a novice and uncertain how far I can go into sportsmanship in general, so along with my machete and Leatherman, I feel good about my purchase. If you can afford an uber-ax go for it, but if your seeking a economic solution that is sturdy and practical: here it is.
