#Useless if you live in Ireland. (2009-01-06) The detail of mapping in Ireland is terrible. Even on the latest (update which costs 79. 99) motorways are missing, the M6 which has been open for over seven months is still absent. The route selection provided by the unit frequently ignores shorter options along main roads in favour of back roads. The route preference selection appears to have absolutely no impact on the route chosen by the unit. As for the process of downloading the map updates, I found the Garmin website decidedly un-user friendly. It took several attempts and ul...
#Good low cost satnav, shame about the US docs and website (2009-01-01) This largely does what I wanted it to do - it gets my daughter home from anywhere without her having to do very much. Seems to work well - I have no need for any sophisticated features like some reviewers. However, I think the supplied manual is poor and does not showcase the features very well. Also the Garmin website is not at all friendly and should be tailored to the model you have - instead it gives masses of irrelevant information and downloads that you don t need. However, four stars for working straigh...
#nice gift (2008-12-26) i bought this for my hubby as a xmas gift, cause he only likes complicated things. i thought it might arrive a bit late. but actually the delievery is very fast. it is a big surprise for him. he is very happy with his toy. as i supposed, it keeps him very busy!
#Mrs K (2008-12-23) Great little gadget. Ordered Friday didnt expect until after christmas (chose standard delivery) but arrived Monday! Took a few minutes to set up. I gave it a test drive to work, it tried to go several routes but I stuck to my usual and each time relocated and did so quickly! Definately value for money.
#Perfect (2008-12-20) Love this, easily superior to the tomtom one which it aims to compete with. For the price alone it is amazing value for money considering you get full European mapping. It s very user friendly, simple to use, very clear navigation and hard to fault. The windscreen mount is great as well. The only downside is you dont get a charger (other than in car). But any mini usb cable will work fine.

#essential fitness aid (2009-01-06) I ve lost over 5 stone over the last year by walking but when i tried to start jogging, to get the last few stone off, i nearly killed myself. I pushed to hard too soon because I had no idea how hard i was trying. Until I got the garmin that is and a book about heart zone training. Then i put the two together and started jogging again but this time with the 305 telling me when i was going out of zone 3 [which was very quickly to start with]. I am training now not killing myself. I jog and walk combined without any guilt of not training hard ...
#excellent running aid (2009-01-04) fairly simple to use. if purchased download the motionbased free website as its analysis is much better than the garmin one you get on disc. excellent product
#Garmin Forerunner 305 (2008-12-29) My wife bought me one of these for Christmas (2008), after some hints from me. I read a number of online reviews before dropping the hints, and the 305 seemed exactly what I was looking for, at a good price too. Opened the box up on Christmas day and set about reading the instructions. Pretty easy to use really, and picked up satellites from the front room. Went out for a run on Boxing Day, up a hill (to test out the elevation profile function). The run was only about 7km and through thick wooded areas in places. The reception was perfect th...
#Beauty on the inside (2008-12-26) First I must say that the 305 is one of the ugliest watches I have ever seen, perhaps if there was another colour option it might look a little better. I guess you have to fork out another 100 pounds for the 405 if you want a watch you can wear casually. Apart from that there is little to complain about. I am yet to use some of the advance features but in terms of the basics it was totally usable and intuitive. In terms of configuring for the first time, pairing with the heart monitor, changing the data fields, going for your first run and uploading...
#gives me headaches (2008-12-22) Brilliant watch, apart from it makes me feel ill!! Don t know why but it does! Feels like someones kicked my head!

#Garmin Forerunner 50 + Footpod (2009-01-02) A fantastic product. For less than £40 you can track your runs and use the really simple Training Centre Software to analyse your performance. If you don t need a mapping facility I can t see why you would want to pay £150 more for a GPS version.
#Garmin Forerunner 50 + Footpod (2008-12-31) What a wonderful bit of kit. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Lightweight and straightforward to use. The software is simple to download from Garmin website and the forerunner sync d perfectly with the ant receiver after my first run. At this price you can t go wrong. 5 stars!
#Garmin Forerunner 50 + foot pod (2008-11-13) Hi, Just thought i d leave a quick review for the Garmin Forerunner 50 inc USB ANT Stick. I bought this item from Amazon along with footpod, heart rate monitor and bike GSC10 speed sensor. As usual Amazon delivery was faultless, all arrived safe ontime and well packed. The Product, well i have to say the instructions with the watch are not the best, but within an hour i had everything setup for my profile on the watch and using the Garmin Training center software (quick download from there site) on my pc laptop. PC software drivers all l...
#fantastic pedometer (2008-11-11) Garmin Forerunner 50 + FootpodThis watch is fantastic and I would (and have) recommend(ed) it to all people wanting information on speed, distance and running times. The automatic uplink is brilliant and Garmin Connect is a really interesting training tool which enable you to see your run in a graphical form. I bought this for £38 (its currently £40 on Amazon) and I can t believe how little it costs for such functionality. The watch also looks good and is extremely slimline.
#Brilliant and cost-effective GPS alternative (2008-11-10) After having started running regularly about 5 months ago, I decided to upgrade my Timex Ironman sports watch to a proper running watch that could measure pace/speed/distance. Having looked at the Garmin Forerunner range, and the 305 and 405 models in particular, I was put off by the high price and the average reviews. The Forerunner 50 and footpod package seemed like a great (and far cheaper!) alternative to GPS, especially since I d only be missing out on the mapping ability (which I don t consider that important anyway). H...

#Simple and effective (2008-12-22) Purchsed the 200 after checking numerous reviews and very pleased with the result. Fitting is easy with the windscreen mount and pleased to find sufficient cable to reach the lighter socket which is on the console at the driver s side on my vehicle. System was up and running in minutes and a quick trial showed very good results and quick re-calculating of new route when the suggested route is ignored. Lots of features including shops, hotels, restaurants etc and the speed camera database which can be updated on-line for a free trial period. Overal...
#Also get a USB (mini) cable! It s a must (2008-12-18) I won t be long - enough reviews are available here, so let me just add a couple of things: you ll definitely need a USB (mini) cable with your Garmin Sat Nav, because1) with a USB (mini) cable, you CAN recharge your Garmin Sat Nav with your PC/Mac, which is not clearly mentioned in the user s manual. Remember, your Sat Nav doesn t come with this cable or an AC adapter (you need to buy them separately!), so you can t recharge the battery until you connect it with the vehicle power cable. 2) with this cable, you can also download ...
#Some drawbacks (2008-11-21) A great little machine although it takes time to get to know about all the fascilities. A couple of annoying drawbacks I tried the free 1 month safety camera update which gave information of a temporary average speed camera, these have been removed but the Nuvi200 still thinks they are there. Also on rounderbouts it tends to demand you turn left at the exit before the correct one hence you do have to count the exits.
#Garmin Nuvi 200 Widescreen Satellite Navigation System With UK Mapping - Really Worth it to buy (2008-10-31) Garmin Nuvi 200 Widescreen Satellite Navigation System With UK & Ireland Mapping - £100. 29. Really worth it to buy, easy to go any where, user friendly,Good map routing with SPF(Shortest path First),2D-3D touch screenMy first impressions were very positive. It looks very simple, and is easy to use. I was happy to see that you could change the mapping options, from the perspective view, to a view from above, where the map moves under the car, and another view from above wher...
#Error in the small print (2008-10-23) Bought this product and am delighted with it. Took me 5 minutes to set up and very easy to use. Also bought a nuvi 2xx 7 3xx vehicle adapter/recharge cable as it stated in Customers who bought this item also bought this item. However, it was not necessary as the product came with one. It does not state this under what is supplied with the product. There is an error - it specifies a vehicle power cable twice. I am irritated that I do now have two and it is not worth the cost of returning one.

#Poor mapping, useless traffic updates (2008-12-12) Very unimpressive considering how long this GPS technology has been around, I would have expected a lot more. The unit is basic for the price, although the mapping does include the whole of Europe, apparently. . . I updated the mapping software to 2009 and have, to date, found major trunk route improvements which are open already (pre-November 2008) but are not on the updated 2009 maps, this could be very tricky if you didn t know the roads. Postcode searches seem to be okay, but where the postcode is unavailable or unrecognised (...
#Highly Recommended - Easy to use and brilliant navigation (2008-12-11) I have just purchased the Garmin Nuvi 255WT Satellite nagigation System with built in Traffic. I am really pleased with it, its clear, easy to follow, and looks great. . I was worried about which one to buy. . i was blinded by technology and just did not know which one to choose. . this is my first Sat Nav, and I have no friends who could recommend any specific one to me, so i just had to go with it. I looked at all the reviews on here and thought that this one looked the best, I also took the free delivery opti...
#Better than a Tom Tom but behind Navman in every respect (2008-12-10) Bought one of these to replace my 6-year old Navman ICN 510. The 255 WT has not moved the art forward one bit. The software is clunky and the routes defy logic and are either via a motorway at all costs ( on the fastest option) or on the back roads from hell on the shortest option. No way of selecting a balance as per the Navman. Also it gives you street names for the next road but no road No so can confuse things if you are following street signs in London Tried a Tom Tom XL - it was tno better so both ...
#Fantastic Satnav Garmin Nuvi 255WT - Just Buy One (2008-11-27) This is a great satnav. I had to drive to several seperate locations from Kent to East London to South East London to North London and back to Kent in a day. I would have got totally lost and stressed trying to rely on maps or printed directions. This unit was brilliant and was spot on and simple to use. Registered and updated to 2009 maps worked O. K but took a long time, circa 5 hours all together. Had a small problem after the map updates as the unit thought I was in Central London for some reason. However, just wen...
