#Good Camera (2009-01-03) Easy to use even without reading the manual, great photos, very handy to carry in my pockets when I am going out clubbing. I just love it.
#A Sexy Little Thing (2009-01-02) It seriously is! Got this the other day and wow! Was going to go for a LUMIX but to be honest, the way they ve been put together just looks shoddy to me. This beauty on the other-hand has everything you would expect from a CANON camera, it looks, feels and is solid, pictures are clear and crisp and the features like face-detection work a treat. Some may lift their noses at the fact that it s only 8MP but for the price, size (it s so small!) and a lovely bright 2½ screen, you can t go wrong with this I reckon. I ll be recommending!
#Very clear pictures and great zoom (2008-12-28) I bought this camera for diving as the review for both the camera and case were excellent. It takes very good pictures, is compact and looks great. The flash is brilliant and I can t wait to take it underwater to see how it performs there.
#Faulty Screen (2008-12-27) I have had my camera for a little over a year and had been pretty pleased with it until for no apparent reason the screen packed up. I thought I would take it in to a local Canon sevice centre only to find out that the closest ones are over 150 miles away. Its not as if I live in the Orkneys. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Would I recommend this camera? No. Would I buy Canon again? Most definitely not. An expensive mistake I won t be repeating.
#Great product for price but one big problem - red eye (2008-12-20) I bought this camera 2 months ago and since then I have had the opportunity to take numerous shots in various conditions. The results in daylight are very good as with Canon cameras. For the price you pay, this is a very good camera but unfortunately, in low light conditions, red eye becomes a major problem. It is even worse with the red eye reduction flash on, so I am not impressed with that feature. I now have to purchase a red eye removal software as the free downloadable ones are not as quick to use, but at USD...

#most splendid little thing (2008-12-29) I realised how much one depends on the experiences of others. So here is the sung praise for this tiny camera. I had a beloved Ixus, when film was known to be inside a camera and not only in cinemas. My first foray into digital was a Fuji FinePix E900. An ok bulky workhorse, which threw itself, lens extended, on a stone step and died unceremoniously. Now with the prices having come down so much for the Canons I could not resist to get the digital version of the Ixus. Thanks to the reviews I opted for this one. And this tiny little thing (th...
#Lovely little camera (2008-12-09) Super camera. It is flat and compact, and it s easy to use. It has a viewfinder which I think is vital on a digital camera especially out of doors when the sun renders the LCD screen useless. I had the earlier IXUS 6MP Canon and liked it so much I ve stuck with the model. The flash is adequate. Battery life is good but I always take a spare in case. I ve even dropped it without harming it. I have also given one each to two other people. That s because I think it is so good for day-to-day photography. John
#Great value camera (2008-08-09) What a fantastic camera for the price. Easy to use. Small. Sleek. Clear large screen. Good battery life. Video facility gives excellent results. Memory card too small. Buy larger memory separately. No case, but you can pick one up on e-bay for a fiver!!Would recommend to anyone. Pink version at least £10 less than silver. Who needs silver!!
#brilliant camera (2008-08-07) Bought this to replace a casio that i was not to happy with. I m very happy with this camera. The pics are sharp and clear,(even though i have a slight hand shake)and the colours are brilliant and need very little if any, correction in an imaging software. Have taken the best pictures of my grandchildren in a long time. Thought the pink might be a bit over the top, but i love it. Only moan is i would have liked a proper manual as i like browsing them. Lots of thing i haven t tried on this camera yet but i m having a lot of fun,and it hasn t been to di...
#Lovely Camera (2008-07-27) I am thrilled with the purchase of my first digital camera. It s compact, light and gorgeous in pink! Also, the best price through Amazon. It was really easy to start using and takes excellent pictures/vids which are really easy to upload. The camera may be small but the screen is ample. I also purchased a 2Gb card for extra storage. Shame it doesn t come with a decent case. Buy it and enjoy it!

#Very good camera (2009-01-02) A very good solid camera and i got it for a bargin £117 , seen in on cannon site with RRP or £360Very good pic quality and good zoom, came with a 512mb card but i bought a 2GB one.
#A few more thoughts (2009-01-02) Just got this as a present to myself and it s a very cute device. I bought it to be a carry anywhere quick snapper and it looks to be spot on. It is small and robust, starts up fast with built-in image stabilisation and enough quick select modes to get you snapping fast. It does have some useful manually settings (definable white balance, iso & exposure settings etc) but the camera seems happiest if you just select a built-in setting (like people, night or snow) and let it get on with it. In regard to accessing all the features the buttons don t see...
#Excellent P&S camera (2009-01-02) This is an excellent point and shoot camera. perfect picture quality. The quality of image is near if not DSLR quality. performance/technology is excellent and the body is not plasticky.
#Don t put yourself through the hassle (2009-01-01) As other people have reported, there s a common problem with this camera - it stops being able to turn on. I used mine for a few months, treated it nicely, and then in the middle of a holiday it ground to a halt and wouldn t turn on anymore. I had it repaired under warranty, and then after a month, without any further use, it refused to turn on again. I ve had other Canons I ve been very impressed with - but this one I really would NOT recommend. Save yourself the hassle.
#Outstanding for daily use ! (2008-12-25) As a part of my job I have to keep a complete visual record of all work produced, and imperative that the light and colour is spot on. I have owned the previous 960 for a good year and half now and have literally taken thousands of photos with it. I have a massive interest in photography and also own a 35mm and digital SLR therefore pretty much know what I m doing. I love this camera. The solid titanium shell feels well made and although I m sure it s not supposed to, I can testify it does bounce and still work. What some reviewers seems to ...

#Brilliant little camera with easy-to-use functionality (2008-10-21) I bought this camera from Amazon in October 2008, which came with a free case that made the whole package very good value. I am no photo professional, so this camera is perfect for a layperson like myself who just wants to point and shoot! Delivers nice pictures, actually 10 megapixel gives lots of unwanted (!) details on your skin, too. . I am glad I didn t go for the 12 megapixel option, which would be too much for the leisure user (each photo becomes too large in size too, using up your SD card space quickly). Ov...

#Good pocket camera (2008-12-19) I just got this camera and tried it with some test shots. This is a pocket camera for point and shoot situations. It is not for pro-photographers, so if you are one of those you will be disappointed. If you are looking for more control you are better off buying something like the Powershot G9. *It has very quick start-up. *Build quality is excellent also feels quite heavy so you know you are holding it!*Image quality is good with flash or ample light. In low-light conditions, performance degrades a bit. *High ISO performance (above 300) not so good, ...
#perfect to fit in your pocket (2008-10-24) No excuse now to wish you had your camera with you! This tiny machine can be carried at all times. I was very impressed with the quality of pictures it takes and for the price the range of settings are good. I never go anywhere without it.
#Ixus 85IS (2008-10-11) Recieved this camera as a present. Beautiful tiny size. A delight to put in ones pocket before a day out. Beats carrying my Fuji 6500fd in a large case. Nice big screen so you can compose the image. I ve had the Canon A80 and A95 in the past and for user friendly-ness the Ixus is as good. Have put a 4gb SDHC card in and its telling me on the highest resolution I could get 894 photos on the card. Battery life is superb. The biggest drawback of this camera, and it is a huge drawback for me, is the quality of the photos. They are not as sharp as my old A8...
#A lovely piece of kit (2008-09-06) I am delighted with this camera. I had been fretting for some time about buying a suitably compact digital camera to replace my Konica Minolta Dimage (only 3 megapixels) which I had thought a great design. This Canon is it. Not only is it beautifully designed, it is easy to use (yet has sufficient features to keep the geeks among us content), produces wonderfully high-definition (10 megapixel) pictures, and is small enough to go comfortably in your pocket. At the time of writing (September) I m also impressed with the battery - I bought the ca...
#Canon IXUS 85 IS (2008-08-24) I previously had a Nikon S6 which was about 6MP, and I thought I needed an upgrade, and naturally I assumed I would go up in model to the new S7C, or equivalent. I decided rather than buying blindly of the Internet - I would instead try my hand at actually going in to a Camera Store and get the opinions of the camera expert. Now I was presented with a Canon IXUS 85 IS, and straight away I played it down, because my heart was set on a Nikon. After weeks of checking out other cameras, I went back in to the store, and I actually tested it : a. Size and b....
